	If you are just one family all sharing the same portal account with one ISY, none of this matters.  But managing multiple ISY's with multiple user groups and not finding any good documentation and I got all twisted around.  Below are some of the pearls of wisdom I figured out with trial and error and tickets with UD.  I am not vouching that this is 100% correct, so if you think I made a mistake, please speak up.  Also, some of this may change.  Hopefully, the fact that a once used email address is forever used on that one setup short of opening a ticket to have UD staff delete it on the back-end will be changed.

	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	There was a portal outage last night from 4:27 to 6:32 ET (1:27 to 3:32 PT).
</p>

<p>
	The incident was triggered by a service outage at Amazon: Amazon echo services.
</p>

<p>
	The root cause of the portal outage was a bug in the portal code which mishandled the specific error returned by Amazon when reporting device statuses, creating a continuous loop which made our servers non-responsive.
</p>

<p>
	The bug has been fixed, and I can tell the Amazon echo services are also working fine now.

	This portal disconnect is unusual, typically it's rock solid. I was notified of the disconnect via UD Mobile. I never received a Portal reconnect.
</p>

<p>
	A couple of things I noticed:
</p>

<p>
	- Finder for <a href="https://eisy.local/desc" rel="external nofollow">https://eisy.local/desc</a> doesn't work anymore. No popup for LAN, Cloud, PG3 when selected. Authentication to Portal from the AC doesn't work anymore, although local admin does. I am a alpha/beta tester of the new EISY web interface. And of course, I did try the usual Java clear cache etc with no effect.
</p>

<p>
	- And while trying to figure out what was happening with Portal I noticed this in the AC as well<span class="ipsEmoji">👇</span>
</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="//d2z8ydsemzif1x.cloudfront.net/monthly_2025_08/image.png.a3a7cfaf2bbeacb34a78637664b26ec4.png" data-fileid="31254" data-fileext="png" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="31254" data-ratio="35.30" width="1000" alt="image.thumb.png.ef53b854d89e1dd248b8a0d526c559dd.png" src="//d2z8ydsemzif1x.cloudfront.net/monthly_2025_08/image.thumb.png.ef53b854d89e1dd248b8a0d526c559dd.png" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	Not the end of the world, but I'm curious to know if anyone else noticing this behavior?
</p>

<p>
	Maybe it's just me??

	<br />
	Nothing has changed at this end. I now tried to "Discover devices" with nothing new found several times. I have changed some Text in the ISY Portal for "T V lights" to "Tee Vee Lights", same thing happens using the "television lights" verbage command On/Off.<br />
	<br />
	This seems to be all some change at amazon's end, or some lack of feedback from ISY Portal to Amazon. Most commands still work but most or all, retort the "I don't know how to do that" error response. All my programs are listed as "switches" to avoid t constant asking "are these are lights?". I use On/Off commands via ISY Portal only.<br />
	<br />
	Mostly a heads up. Anybody else experiencing this new problem with Alexa commands?

	I’ve been noticing my eisy going offline randomly. Unit feels very warm while offline. I haven’t noticed if it’s always that warm during normal operation. I’ve tried power cycling. It just seems to go back online on its own. No internet outages during offline periods.
