  1. Let me further explain what I'm trying to do. I want to use the motion detection feature in the Blue Iris camera software to send a command to turn on the flood lights. The capabilities of the cameras and the software is way better than any home automation device I could buy. I've seen different ways of sending the command. The reason I mentioned the ethernet is that I could plug in a smart things hub and a GE switch. Set that as a secondary zwave node and control it that way. I've just never done this before and wondered if there is a better way. Thanks.
  2. I have all Insteon switches at the house and a ISY994iZW controller. The gate entrance is 400 ft away. I'd like to add some lights at the gate and integrate them into the system. I have internet connecting the two locations with Ubiquiti nanobeams and a POE switch to power cameras. How can I do this? Add a smarthings hub down there and use a z-wave switch? Is there a better way? Thanks.
