  1. Can I improve my communication by adding more access points?
  2. Is there a good way to test a point-to-point communications issue? I read a lot about noise but if I go unplug appliances, TVs. etc how can I do a "ping" or some other test to a device to see if comms improves?
  3. Understand the ISY not reporting the on/off status in the iolinc. I looked and I have two access points #2443 running v.2.0. I repositioned those and linked them again. Both are within 15 feet of the garage door iolinc. They are installed according to the wiki. I cannot explain what is different but ultimately I moved one of the access points. The sensor is now reporting its status even though the log still shows Hops Left=0. The box I was referring to is actually two access points, # 2443, running v.2.0. Thanks for the help. And if there is something else I can do with the access points please let me know.
  4. The relay is set to MOMENTARY B but it gets stuck in the ON position. So I made a program to check to see if it is on, wait 5 seconds and switch it off. Have I done something wrong in the setup to prevent it from switching off automatically? As for the hops issue I am lost. I have only the ISY connected to a PLM, and then I have the box that is supposed to connect the phases of the house together (don't remember what it is called). Is that my 3 hops?
  5. ISY-991 running version 3.3.4. I had to replace my garage door opener/sensor (2450) because it finally quit. Replaced it with a new one that I just got from Smarthome.com. I have it working to open/close the garage door but it will not update the status on the ISY. When the door is opened/closed the green LED changes as expected but the ISY does not update the status. This is a clean log for an OPEN/CLOSE event on the garage door: Anyone have any idea what I can do to resolve this? My previous iolinc updated its status correctly and it was an older version...
  6. Woohoo!!!!! I got LIGHTS! New ISY and PLM arrived today. Worked the second I plugged it all in. Got my lamp modules, ToggleLincs and garage door opener installed and working in about 2 hours. Thank again to everyone who tried to help.
  7. Good to know that it will still reset if you hold too long. I tried that, at one point holding the button for a 30 seconds just to see if I could get it to do anything different. The light never flashed, just stayed on solid.
  8. They were nice enough to 2-day ship so I should have them tomorrow.
  9. Thanks Mike. I did try a few cables. I even pulled out my cable tester to make sure they weren't defective. I have tried to adjust the connector and it made no difference. Remember, I cannot get the PLM to reset either. The light on it is solid and no amount of button holding changes that.
  10. I have an ISY-991 and a PLM 2412S. Previously it was determined that I had a bad PLM so I exchanged it. I have a new PLM now and trying to set up the 99i. However, the RX light on the 99i is STILL solid which, according to the documentation, means the ISY can not see the PLM. And as before I still get no popup dialog from the START LINKING button on the java interface. The light on the PLM is lit solid. pressing and holding the button for any length of time does nothing. The power and RX lights on the ISY are solid I tried to reset the PLM by unplugging for 10 seconds, then plugging back in holding the set button for 3 seconds and releasing. Nothing. So I am on the phone again with SmartHome... They are now shipping me a new 99i and PLM. Not inspiring confidence....
