  1. I was somewhat shocked to not see Insteon at CEDIA. Even a company that makes alarm systems using RPi's was there. Very sad to see Insteon not make an appearance. Maybe it's because they haven't launched a single new device in YEARS. For those of you who say Lutron is limited in devices clearly has no idea what they are talking about. Your budget may not allow it, but Lutron lets remember created lighting controls. They know a thing or two about this. If they wanted to, Insteon could be coming out with some great new devices, it just seems they have lost their edge. I have seen anything regarding ELV or Reverse Phase dimming. DMX controls or anything in regards to where the future of lighting is going. Also, their dimmers do a HORRIBLE job of dimming LED's. Lucky to get 10% dimming on them. Remember 10% dim on LED is equal to 32% perceived light....
  2. Hey Eric, Thank you for that! I literally just finished playing with a keypad. I took it apart and remove the center square that is in the buttons. The I cut one of the two tabs holding the individual 3.4.5.6 buttons and put a large button on top. It works, however one limitation is the following. Buttons 1 and 2 as well as 7 and 8 have their micro momentary buttons positioned left and right. Where buttons 3,4,5,6 have it positioned ontop of each other down the middle. While it works, the feel is no as solid as compared to having large buttons on the top and bottom. In going to keep playing to see if I can improve tactile feedback. Thank you again for your investigation! Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
  3. Definitely will keep going at it, promised my client the 4 buttons so now can't go back. He's aware of the middle not being lit, not a major deal. It sure would be nice if insteon created this. They have everything their disposal to create it! Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
  4. I tried putting the large button on but it would get jammed. I'll take one apart today and see if doing it out of the keypad and then mounting it makes a difference. The programming side I got down and it works as expected. I'll see what I can come up with taking it apart.
  5. This is in reply to stusview: "I use KPLs to create 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 device controllers. That's possible because large KPL button fits well over two small buttons. Just create scenes that include the pair of buttons as controllers of the same scene. Depending on the configuration, a button pair is also set to be On-only or Off-only."
  6. I know how to convert them between 6 and 8. My question is different, some of you have mentioned you created keypads with 4 buttons. I'm looking to see how it was done.
  7. Hi Everyone, I've read alot, but first time posting. I have seen several of you have mentioned how you can create 4,5,6,7,8 button keypads. I think I understand on the ISY side how to do it, but I'm more curious on the actual keypads how you did it. I tried putting a 2 button button on top of two individual ones on the keypad and it got jammed. Do I need to modify the buttons or the keypad at all for this to work? A short how to on the back end as well as the physical side would be highly appreciated. We are tying this system with RTI and have finished programming the RTI side, just need to finish up the ISY side in order to finish the job! On a side note, ISY ties really well into RTI and has almost no lag in terms of lighting control as well as running macros from RTI. Single, Double and Press n Hold all work!
