I'm getting temp and lux readings, but when I try to do a query I get request failed error. I get it on all the nodes. Is that just the way it works or is there a setting I need to make? thanks
-
UPDATE: I removed it and reinstalled and now see the other nodes.

I'm using an EISY with ioX v.5.8.0

I have installed the UD USB Dongle and am attempting to get the TriSensor up and running. On my AC, it shows ZY 002 V1 Alarm and ZY 002 Wake Up. Light on sensor shows it is included FWIW. How to I get light and temperature readings from this?

It seems every time I'm away from computer for a period of time and come back to PC I have to close the console out and restart. Is there a setting or a way to keep the console open and functional until I shut it down?

I want to just add a simple lux measuring capability to my eisy setup to control light programs. Will this work with eisy? Aeotec Z-Stick 7 Plus Aeotec ZWA005-C TriSensor Z-Wave Plus S2 I have no experience with Z-wave or Zigbee so am approaching this cautiously. I don't see the need for me to use the more expensive UD dongle, but would like your thoughts. thanks

UPDATE; Success, sometimes the simplest solution is right in front of me. Went through every page of isy portal site and under my profile there it was. I have two isys, a 994 and the newer easy, although I don’t have 994 online anymore. The 994 was set to use preferred isy. Once I changed it Alexa found the opener and light right away. Thanks for all the input😀

Here are a couple of screenshots. I'm using ISY Optimized for Smart Home V3 in Alexa to connect between the two. All looks ok until I try to have Alexa discover the ratgdo. She finds other devices but not the ratgdo.

I'm running ratgdo plugin as a node on eisy. Garage door shows up as ratgdo on admin panel along with ratgdo light. It also shows up on the polyglot page under ratgdo as two nodes, garage door opener and light. I have Amazon echo device list setup as ratgdo device device\open-close n006_ratgdo garage and spoken as garage door. But when I ask Alexa to discover devices, it doesn't find ratgdo. If I ask alexa to open garage door, it says, sorry i didn't find a group or device named garage door, guess since it didn't discover ratgdo. frustrating
-
Yes I found that and set up a spoken, but Alexa doesn't find ratgdo and there is no skill for it to. I tried telling Alexa to open the garage door as I set up in spoken, and she says sorry I didn't find a ... named garage door. I don' t get how Alexa triggers a program in EISY with no device link. I did create a program in EISY to open garage door. I tried scene also with same results. What am I missing if this is doable?

Is there a way to use the ratgdo with Alexa? There doesn't seem to be a ratgdo skill. thanks

OK, got connected but it doesn't find my devices. Just starting with TP-link, this is a couple of smartplugs, EP25P4. Log says: 2023-12-29 10:13:19,184 Thread-12 kasa.discover DEBUG discover:datagram_received: [DISCOVERY] Unsupported device found at 192.168.0.164 << {'result': {'mac': '48:22:54:A2:5F:40', 'tmp_port': [20001], 'hardware_version': '1.2', 'group_name': 'UHJpZGVfQmx1ZmY=', 'need_account_digest': True, 'owner': 'ad7e01492048820889f788af8a048f0b', 'master_device_id': 'cd38fde4457325ab88372467a44194ef', 'ip': '192.168.0.164', 'device_type': 'HOMEWIFISYSTEM', 'role': 'master', 'channel_2g': '4', 'device_model': 'X55', 'device_id': 'cd38fde4457325ab88372467a44194ef', 'group_id': '67f4dcb8697afc57459b1657a28f744f', 'channel_5g': '48', 'factory_default': False}, 'error_code': 0} Does this mean that the smarplugs cannot be used with eisy at this time? I have some switches coming in in a day or two that are new. Will this only work with older devices? thanks

Thanks, Brian. This was very helpful

After Node Server reinstall, server is not starting.
dblee1950 replied to leonpc's topic in Kasa (TP-Link)
I have version 3.1.4 and version 5.7.1 of the iox and version 3.2.16 of the PG3. I don't see dates on my dashboard other than time started. I don't know what or how to update modules/install dev packages. I see nothing that says update in the PG3 store for kasa -

Having issues too. Kasa never seems to connect. On admin panel it shows the node server and lists several smart devices, but kasa doesn't show up on left side of panel under Network. I tried removing kasa from pg3 and eisy and reinstalling with same results. Log shows it trying to do something over and over. Here's a section where there is an error: 2023-12-28 11:23:05,457 MainThread udi_interface ERROR udi_interface:write: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/var/polyglot/pg3/ns/0021b9026925_4/kasa-poly.py", line 12, in <module> from nodes import VERSION,Controller File "/var/polyglot/pg3/ns/0021b9026925_4/nodes/__init__.py", line 9, in <module> from .SmartDeviceNode import SmartDeviceNode File "/var/polyglot/pg3/ns/0021b9026925_4/nodes/SmartDeviceNode.py", line 8, in <module> from kasa import SmartDeviceException I don't know what that means. I'm not sure about "upgrade packages, install dev packages" so I'm stuck. What next? -
thanks tlightne.

yes to all of the above. It now shows the data in various subfolders. I just need to figure out how to incorporate this in a program. thanks

I'm trying to use my local weather station with my new eisy. I managed to install a node server and it shows on network listing, but it only says the name of the station and station on-line...true. How do I utilize this? Something like using the outside temperature to trigger an event? The only thing in the node frame is query. I've read docs, readmes, googled and found the ployglot v3 page on AW. Logged in to that and it lists a lot of items, but it doesn't tell me how to integrate this to eisy. If I go to add node in AW node server, I get a frame wit name, node address and primary node address. I'm not sure what goes into these blocks. I tried a temp variable in node address but just get bad address. Any simple help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Update. I got the new PLM in and it seemed to work ok but still was having some issues with devices not updating. In the meantime, I decided to go the the eisy and ordered it as I may be adding a few more SLDs and wanted that capability for the i3 devices. It came in last night and I installed it with the new PLM. Issues with the mobile app, but no problem on PC and restoring. Same issues with the updates on some devices, so I deleted them and reinstalled and put them back in scenes and every one is good for first time is a great while. I don't have any comm problems at the time and will start putting some programs in soon relieving Alexa of most of those chores. thanks for input.
-
I tried that and found several flashing red, some white and some not at all. Still getting a multitude of comm errors, suspect plm. I've ordered a new one and will see what it shows. I may reset isy and see what happens but i'm really leaning towards plm issues. And I have tried resetting plm with no improvement. I'll update once I get the plm. thanks

Thanks Brian. All of my devices, pretty much are dual band. I'm running 994 now, and keep getting cannot communicate with... during a query...not on every device but a lot. Not sure about their built in communication test, how? Yes the 2413s is an old one that went out at one time. Replacements weren't available at that time so I replaced some of the troublesome caps and got it working, however, my work was not the best and I suspect it isn't 100%, lol.
-
Trying to decide whether to upgrade to new eisy or replace my old 2413S and see if problems, errors etc will improve. I have a 994 that’s several years old and the older plm I mentioned. They have been in storage for 3 years, we moved and built a house. I hooked up devices and some work but I’m seeing several issues with devices, mostly Insteon not responding, and a host of other things. I’m not looking for trouble shooting, as I think most issues are with plm. I used setup at old house mostly with Insteon devices so would going with eisy and new 2413u would I experience less communication problems or maybe just replacing my 2413s and keeping 994. Subjective I guess, but I’m thinking maybe just start with a new plm and go from there. Maybe I answered my own question.

I think mine did have some higher V caps, but they fit in the housing normally. All is not well today, isy report the green 1011 on every divice, I have no battery operated devices. trying to turn a device on with isy is sporatic, but alexa controls work and the portal seems to work but again, not reliable. I suspect the plm is struggling. don't know if reseting isy/plm is worth it but may try that tonight

Just an update, my capacitors came in today, so I swapped them out. It was kinda ugly, I haven't done any circuit board soldering in many years, but I got through it and cleaned up the board. Didn't expect much as my led light was on before. Plugged in the plm to the isy powered up the plm and then the isy. It's working! Don't know how long, but for now things are up. I've also got a RP coming in and will look at transitioning to HA as I don't have the highest confidence in my work or the plm, lol. thanks to this and other boards covering these topics.
