Likewise I get an error message when trying to add Matter device from Tapo. These same devices work on Alexa and Smartthings. Can't seem to get good responses on this. Probably simple or the devices we have do not yet work with EISY Matter??!!

Neither mobile app nor EISY (all latest revs) connect to devices./ SmartThings and Alexa find them. Error message Could not get Matter QR Code rendezvous Type for MT:YZ7A0G-E15F.0M0OZ10. 500 No luck with other Matter devices including TAPOS515D kit Sure would be nice if EISY worked.

I get that the plugIns are used to add functionality and that is why I would like to play around with them. I'm not into coding, least of all Python or other languages. I looked a bit into the HUE plugin documentation and turned away not understanding any of it but i get the concept. Do you have an example of how to implement a very simple free plugin, perhaps the BlueTooth service, that you can share? I sure could use a "PlugIns for Dummies". I learned a lot in the last with the ISY cookbook but I haven't found anything for PlugIns. Thanks.

I'm drawing a blank on using them. I do have the Bluetooth loaded (via UD Mobile) and in my tree - I'm drawing a blank on what to do with it. I looked for YouTube videos and could not find any nor could I find any documentation with any detail. Help would be appreciated. Using V5.9.1. Thanks

Thanks for the replies. After hit and miss I got my devices working. It wasn't straight forward but hit and miss with many tries. I will have to research the WIFI channel setting. I do have some utilities for looking at channels. I do have a lot of equipment on a shelf that could cause interference (dual band router & access point sitting right next to the EISY sitting on its side with dongle directly attached on top so antennas are all pretty close. It would probably be good to separate the RF streams. Looking forward to January software/firmware release with Matter.

Using EISY, v5.84 with Insteon (still my favorite), ZWave & Zigbee devices. Generally they all integrate well. Issue 1 I am using Zigbee and ZWave motion detectors, more Zigbee than ZWave. The Zigbee detectors seem to be disconnecting and not functioning. These are simple applications of turning on a light. I have re-added the Zigbees with interviews previously but now EISY does not even allow me to do that function. When I try to add a Zigbee device I do not even get a secondary windows talking about the interview. Nothing happens. Yes, I reboot often to see if the problem gets corrected. Yes, I have new batteries in the detectors These detectors are within 15' of the EISY and all work well when they are recognized. I use a ZWave on/off plugin socket that is solid, same with Zigbee sockets and Insteon (many switches, duplex sockets and plugin sockets) Issue 2 I have noticed that both the Zigbee and ZWave pulldowns in the admin control panel sometimes show an explanation point (I forget the wording along with that) but nothing else in the submenu. I then reboot and mostly get the submenus back. On occasion I get one and not the other (ZWave or Zigbee). I suspect this to be a mechanical design problem with the weight of the dongle not connecting well at the USB contact points within the connector. I may try using a short USB cable rather than plugging the dongle into the EISY. Comments/recommendations welcomed.

I cannot get the Insteon Motion detector 2844-222 to work reliably/consistently with EISY and could use suggestions. I've tweaked the OPTIONs many times and no longer certain of their defaults. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought a few SONOFF SNZB-03 motion detectors and cannot get them to detect motion. They are listed in the network list. They show STATUS as 'on' in the MAIN tab for each device. They do not create any events in EVENT VIEWER. I am at a loss as to how to make Zigbee work. I've re-paired them. Every time I do that their ZB XXXXX>1 address changes. It will be easy to loose track of which device is which if any resetting has to be done. Anyone out there with experience with EISY and Zigbee? v5.6.4 in use on EISY Thanks

The tag line "Insteon got you down" seems to indicate the end of the road for Insteon. if this is not so, throw us a bone and give us a glimpse of it its future. I love the simplicity of its integration, installation and its reliability. Its dual band means every new device connects up pretty fast and consistently. I'm a small time minimally geeky user but I would love to see device volumes go up and prices go down with new and innovative products in Insteon's timeline. Where is UD taking Insteon?

Hmmm...If there is/could be a 30 second wait/debounce period, that doesn't seem like a very useful situation for an alert. Might be a fun thing to do but not very useful. To use as an alert for someone coming to your front door for instance. heck in 30 seconds they would have already rung the doorbell and I would have answered the door. Will redirect my curiosity and creative efforts else whereor now. Thanks all.

Thanks DaveStLou and phlojo. I think your inputs will get me to where I want to be. Right now my Alexa shows my 'spoken' but the motion sensor shows 'on' which it technically is. The variable usage should get me to the right place. Thanks.

I use a 2842-222 MS to make an entry light brighter upon motion detection during evening hours. I would like to use it to also trigger my Alexa show voice to announce "guest at front door" or something similar when it detects movement. Can't figure out how to send Alexa a command to say something however. I can go the other way and have Alexa turn on various lights via the portal and have this working fine. I could use some thoughts on the matter. ISY994i w/Z-Wave v 4.75
