Sorry, I don't read this post as often as I should. $10 + shipping and you get both.

I cannot get the Insteon Motion detector 2844-222 to work reliably/consistently with EISY and could use suggestions. I've tweaked the OPTIONs many times and no longer certain of their defaults. Any help would be appreciated.

Cannot install 2844-444 motion sensor

I put my MSIIs away for now but I will keep monitoring to see if anyone figures anything out. I do have a DOME Z-Wave for simply lighting a room when I walk it. It works well. On occasion I fool with it and have a heck of a time figuring out how to make it work again. I do not believe the DOME is sold anymore as Aerotec has other models out there now. Today I tried a $20 MS from ThirdReality (from Amazon) "THIRDREALITY Zigbee Motion Sensor, Zigbee Hub Required, Pet Friendly, Works with Home Assistant, SmartThings, Aeotec, Hubitat or Echo Devices with Built-in Zigbee hub" and got it working. I am not familiar with Zigbee and EISY kept putting nodes in the tree until I deleted most then somehow got one working. I did a reboot along the way. This sensor has a built in delay of about 35 seconds and STATUS stays ON during that period. I do not know of a way to shorten the ON time, probably some Zigbee parameter I cannot get to. So, I can't short cycle anything with a timer check for the ON state (At least I do not know how) so my timer is set to recheck status after 40 seconds. But this MS works to a large extent and it is only $20. It has many other features now available via EISY 5.6.4. Sure would be nice to have a bunch of working $20 MSs to play with... -

I also have not been able to make MSII work on EISY 5.6.4.. It seems to link and I have 3 entries in the tree: .1 Motion .13 Motion Enabled .16 Tamper Motion Status never changes except when I press the MOTION button. They do not seem to pick up motion. Just added a second MSII. Also seemed to link. Again 3 entries in tree. Inconsistent operation on both. neither seems to turn on with motion. I can get a simple program with variable timer to run by checking the STATUS of .13 but the status doesn't change unless the button is pushed again. Also frustrating is there seems to be a long delay before they switch (after button push) and I have no understanding of how long they need to reset to pick up another motion event. Conclusion - not very useful devices. I do not recommend buying them. -
The Z-Wave board is the latest 500 series. I also have 2 working serial PLMs. Bought the USB PLM for use with EISY so the serial units are up for grabs.

I bought a few SONOFF SNZB-03 motion detectors and cannot get them to detect motion. They are listed in the network list. They show STATUS as 'on' in the MAIN tab for each device. They do not create any events in EVENT VIEWER. I am at a loss as to how to make Zigbee work. I've re-paired them. Every time I do that their ZB XXXXX>1 address changes. It will be easy to loose track of which device is which if any resetting has to be done. Anyone out there with experience with EISY and Zigbee? v5.6.4 in use on EISY Thanks

Just took one out of service when changed over from ISY to EISY (using new USB PLM). Other one was a spare just-in-case. Make offer on one or both to include shipping.

The tag line "Insteon got you down" seems to indicate the end of the road for Insteon. if this is not so, throw us a bone and give us a glimpse of it its future. I love the simplicity of its integration, installation and its reliability. Its dual band means every new device connects up pretty fast and consistently. I'm a small time minimally geeky user but I would love to see device volumes go up and prices go down with new and innovative products in Insteon's timeline. Where is UD taking Insteon?

Hmmm...If there is/could be a 30 second wait/debounce period, that doesn't seem like a very useful situation for an alert. Might be a fun thing to do but not very useful. To use as an alert for someone coming to your front door for instance. heck in 30 seconds they would have already rung the doorbell and I would have answered the door. Will redirect my curiosity and creative efforts else whereor now. Thanks all.

Thanks DaveStLou and phlojo. I think your inputs will get me to where I want to be. Right now my Alexa shows my 'spoken' but the motion sensor shows 'on' which it technically is. The variable usage should get me to the right place. Thanks.

I use a 2842-222 MS to make an entry light brighter upon motion detection during evening hours. I would like to use it to also trigger my Alexa show voice to announce "guest at front door" or something similar when it detects movement. Can't figure out how to send Alexa a command to say something however. I can go the other way and have Alexa turn on various lights via the portal and have this working fine. I could use some thoughts on the matter. ISY994i w/Z-Wave v 4.75
