  1. I did download the start.jnlp earlier this morning from UD's website but it was giving me the same error message, even after clearing temp files and programs from Java config. The admin.jnlp is fine. Thank you for the heads-up on future updates. Will print and save advice.
  2. Today, I too had the issue where the admin.jnlp (AKA start.jnlp) would not start, it gave an error message of unable to load application. It worked this past Friday, when I last used the jnlp. I did as you suggested and downloaded the admin.jnlp directly from the ISY and it now works. However, now I go directly to the admin console, instead of being prompted for selecting UI interface.
  3. Today, I too upgrades my Z-Wave board from the 300 to 500 series, and updated the ISY from 4.7.1 to 5.3.0. I backed up the z-wave dongle and the ISY, as per instructions, but unfortunately the z-wave devices were a no show on the restore. I was getting an error message during restore saying could not open file to read conf/0013.czw. Although my z-wave devices were not showing up in the admin console, I had to exclude/remove the hidden devices from ISY. It was only after I removed these "ghost devices" could I then add them and have it show up in admin console. Luckily, I only had a dozen z-wave devices. My Insteon devices had no issues. All's well now, except sometime in the future I'll have to modify or delete some programs/scenes.
  4. Thank you Paul, Not sure if this was the best way, but it works perfectly. I first created a program called HVAC Fan using the admin console, with "If" remaining blank (as you suggested) the "then" to set the HVAC fan mode to circulation (an intermittent on/off mode), and the "else" to set fan back to auto. I then added the program in the portal and used "fan" as the spoken word and the Alexa category device as a switch. I then went into the Alexa app to discover the new program, now I can say Alexa turn fan on, and the HVAC fan goes into circulation. Exactly what I desired. Telling Alexa to turn it off puts it back to auto. When I start adding my controls for the ceiling fans in the house, I'll probably amend the Alexa spoken word to house fan. I tried to see if I can do it from just the portal, but my thermostat shows up as a thermostat under Alexa category, which then limits it to specific voice commands, as what's found in the wiki. But like I said, I've accomplished what I wanted, so thanks again. Norm
  5. Would it be possible to add commands for a thermostat's fan? Such as Alexa, set thermostat fan to on (or auto, circulation). I have a Honeywell Z-wave thermostat and I can set the "fan mode" to auto, on, circulation, no override, and override to off via the dashboard or admin console. I would like to use Alexa to set these through verbal commands, if the Alexa smart home skills allows it. Regards Norm
