When using the above linked items, it can be set to either override the internal temp on the venstar or be the outside temp display on the venstar (which does nothing in your case). If you use just one remote sensor and have it set to override the internal sensor, then the venstar will only use the remote temp. If you have more than one remote sensor on the channel, then the venstar will automatically average the temp of the sensors (i.e. If one reads 76 and the other 78, then your temp onthe venstar will show 77).
So in your case, just use one remote sensor with the receiver.
