Hi all, I took out my fanlinc and 6-button keypadlinc yesterday. I been moving to z-wave and went to a z-wave fan controller and a seperate light switch. The unit works as far as i know, although i had some comm issues occasionally since it was the further nodes from the rest of the insteon mesh. Send me a PM if your interresting in buying it

Hi All, With the insteon announcements i have pretty much been ripping everything out and calling it a day. Moving to Z-wave. For the most part been sucessful listing stuff on ebay and the bidding wars go beyond the original price (imagine that). I however have a fanlinc (mayber 2) and i got no memory what i paid for it, and there isn't really on ebay. I am wondering what fair price people think i should list it for? note, not anticing any offers here. just looking for community feedback

A new update was rolled out after sharing logs with Goose66. Mine works great now.

Sounds like my PLM when i am done can juzt about buy my new central AC if i hurry enough lol.

I upgraded to ioP this week, and i am actively removing insteon from my home. Just removed my first switch over the weekend. I went with Z-wave, and while ISY software may not be as slick as it is for insteon, it is getting my jobs done. I myself got tired of the insteon availability game.

That MIGHT work for the two non-fanlinc integrated ones. What i do with the insteon version was tied them to a scene, but maybe on this one i can simply just tie it to a program on the isy.

that is what i was afraid of. I have one box where i can do a seperate light + fan. but i have one where it is not so easy without replacing the single gang box.

Hi all, So i am looking at starting to phase out the insteon devices. The reasons are numerous, but the product line is stagnet, hardware is on short supply, and with the nokia anouncement, it just shows smartlabs is redirecting away from insteon. However my smart home needs continue to grow. Anyways not trying to debate that stuff, horse is dead and buried here. I am looking for a path forward, and Z-wave is it for me. The Eco system is thriving, and i already been dipping my toes into z-wave for awhile now. While i can easily find a new light switch, where i constantly get held up is the fanlinc. I cannot find anything quite like it in the z-wave line, and wondering what people have been doing? Also as another thought, any decent replacements for the Insteon Keypads? I have 3 at home (1 for fan, and 2 for multi zone control). My rough thought is i will tackle one room at a time as money/time permits.

Hello All, Looking for opinions from the public. What I Need - Outdoor motion sensor, or some sort of Car sensor to turn exterior driveway lights when cars come in. - Sensor should be able to live through all four seasons, including winter in Northern Vermont. What I got - About 5 lamp posts going down the driveway. Each lampost has an outlet which is always powered on, even when the lights are off. Constant year round power is not a problem - Lamp Post lights are on an insteon controller and ISY can turn them on just find - Many Insteon Devices, so I have quite the mesh already. - The Driveway is about 150 feet long. - Wifi is available to the road (Lot's of AP's around too ) - I do have the ISY994iZW+/IR-PRO. Running the latest firmware (5.0.16) Options? I have not found an outdoors sensor that would work. Most sensors are based on delta temperature of area, but i am not sure how well that will work when it is -20F. I have found some non-traditional, plant a magnetic detector in the ground with a home-base unit. Of course these units do not have an output, but i thought about maybe modifying it to cut the speaker wire redirect the sound to a IOLinc as an open/close relay. It might work. Any thoughts? I cannot be the only person in the world wanting outdoor sensors.

I noticed that Darksky polyglot is not displaying chance of rain or rain rate for me. It also did not update climate conditions to indicate rain when it started to rain tonight. These variables were on the darksky web site, and appeared populated in the api call. Also I was wondering if there is any indicators for chance of snow and snow rate? Up here in the North we get that stuff too!
