Thanks, I am pretty much at that point. Maybe its just a fluke and I got a bum. Appreciate the response.

So, this is happening to me too. I read through to the end of this thread and never found any solution. Just wondering if anyone has figured out what this might be. I love this stuff.

How do I upgrade to PG3?
Samedarkclouds replied to PBatavia01's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
Found this: Haven't tried it. Maybe it will help. -
Hi, all... Update 2: After 2 different Firmware files Zooz sent me.... Boom. It works. I have to say their service is amazing even if their peices are not the top quality of some others. I hope everyone is having a good thanksgiving, and I hope, at least my rambling narrative serves someone else own the line. UPDATE: Since below the line, I went ahead and upgraded to the most current build 5.3.4 (considering the Forum post was with 5.3.0 and I realized right after I hit send it may be my firmware...) That said, while a complete scratch process with he Zen27 did lead to new "multilevel options" as well as the "Add/Refresh Button Press Node" button that was missing (because I ha not upgraded) it made no difference in behavior. It added some more "grouped devices" but the behavior is all the same, no matter the combinations of settings or the included "devices" in programs. The button just dont trigger. Hoping I am just missing something else, but with now the firmware upgrades on everything involved and the variety of settings/programs I just am at a loss as to what it could be. I tried it with another Zen 27 after the upgrade, some thing, and none of the Zoos switches (as opposed to dimmers) I use have this problem.... so maybe its just this model and I am wasting my time but if anyone sees something I dont (a seriously likely possibility) I would be forever in your debt.... ________________________ I have been busy at work expanding my Z-wave and of run into a problem with the Zen27 Dimmer. the issue resembles what was discussed in this closed forum topic The Zen27 (and I tried three of them, and contacted their CS and got a driver update, and did that driver update, and tried it on separate Zen27s, and did so right next to the controller and tried multiple parameters and isy zwave customer zwave button setting) does not cause the ISY to respond from a button press. The Query works fine when pressed, and when you make a change to the ISY the switch works as expected. The Event viewer DOES show the below when pressed: Wed 11/24/2021 09:50:11 AM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW031_1] [20/03] Basic Report val=0x0A ACK,AUTO,EXPLORE From=0x1F Wed 11/24/2021 09:50:11 AM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW031_1] [20/01] Basic Set val=0xFF ACK,AUTO,EXPLORE From=0x1F Wed 11/24/2021 09:50:11 AM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW031_1] [20/01] Basic Set val=0xFF ACK,AUTO,EXPLORE From=0x1F But this appears to lack the ST100 and other lines that would update the status. No combination of isy program "if's" are triggered by the buttons either, so theres no work around. Now in this forum post I included above, they talk about what sounds like this issue, and that the solution is the "Add/Refresh Button Press Node" button, but this button does not seem to exist in my isy which is a matching Firmware/UI 5.0.16b IR/Pro. So... ::deep breath:: as not a complete nube, but not advanced by any measure, what am I missing? And if it is an issue thats not my own level of dumb, has anyone found a solution or run in to the same problem? Secondary note, while I tried multiple Zen27's and got the same result (what a week) I have multiple Zen26's (switches not dimmers) that report perfectly fine and show the additional lines in Event viewer. Thanks as always you crazy cats.

Thank you! Sorry it took me so long to respond., At first it was a dialog box that was popping up only occasionally, and that lead me to the event view (I am somewhere just under intermediate with the tech stuff so I don't spend a lot of time there to know what I am looking at) and saw that it was spamming that message anytime it did anything. Also, yes, my UI and firmware match, that you for that tip. But I think I figured out what was going on between your response and now. So I left my admin console open for a few hours and just let things go, and found that along with the error message stated originally, SOMETIMES there was a Z-WAVE communication error message. After I saw this happen a couple times, and saw that it was the same device, I removed it. That was it, no more error message. My barely educated theory is that this thing was, for some reason, spamming signal traffic at the isy, and the isy was not in solid contact with the device, and the errors was getting where the isy repeatedly trying to log the spamming messages but continually getting interrupted by more messages and contact losses. I mean, I dont know, but the removal of that device SEEMS to fixed the issue. So I guess I will just roll with it. Thanks a lot for your time in thinking about it for me.

Hi, While everything seems to be working for the most part, my event viewer is being spammed with this message "[FileOpen ] Open failed for [/LOG/ERRORA.LOG] (a)" in between all the other messages that look normal. Sometimes a dialog box pops up and includes this message, but the event viewer has more lines of this than anything else combined. Again, it seems like everything is functioning, AND I was able to make a backup (which I saw in an earlier string that included this message should Not be possible if it is my SD card) I am on a isy zwave ir/pro about 2 years old with original SD card and I am running 5.0.16B. Any suggestions on how to "fix" whatever is happing here. Thanks as always!

Thank you sooo much. The programs and scenes did it! Thank you! I was confused because the options boxes behaved like so many other things that would update right there. But you open a very intriguing door for me... I might have not explained myself very well, I tend to have that issue... I dont know how to pull apart what you said as far as the Cloud vs Local. I have a Polisy, and I have downloaded a number of node servers from the store that is (Or that I perceive to be) on a cloud. Then (as far as I understand) they are installed locally on my actual polisy. So maybe that store is the cloud version, or maybe its local version, but I couldn't tell from your explanation which one I am using because I am just not 100% "up on the lingo." I CAN say that I have access (as far as I know) to one store, through my Polisy, that has about 112 node servers I can choose and install without knowing any code (which is lucky because I know fairly little) so am I asking a much more complicated question when I ask "so how to I get into the "local options" or the "other store?" I mean, If there are more Ecobee node servers, and I have the needed hardware between my Polisy and ISY, then unlocking the achievement of a different NodeServer store sounds like a win! I appreciate your time very much.

Hi, Thanks!, I am using Insteon_UD994 V5.0.16b, ITs an IR Pro with Z-wave, and a Polisy Pro thats says "Version 2.2.13 and Frontend Version 2.2.9-5" The Ecobee node server is the one in the store.... I have not graduated to installing things through local means (I am still working on making fire with rocks and sticks comparatively to that. Hope that helps. As far as what Ia m doing, its the same with everything. I was specifically just trying to change the mode from heat to off, but after a moment of "system busy" it just set the mode back to heat and never changed the node at all. The same ended up being the case for any other change I tried (i.e change temp setting, ect...) I dumped the node server and rebooted everything and reinstalled the node server and it was the same. I am not great with the programming (sulu, terminal) stuff so thats the extent I was able to trouble shoot. And then I thought "I wonder if its more for triggers rather than being manipulatable itself, and that is useful enough hat its possible... so maybe I should ask before fumbling around with it." Thanks for the response.

Hi again. So I have the Ecobee server and its reporting wonderfully and accurately, but I (or more appropriately my ISY) attempts to make a change, it just says system busy for a moment and then just resets the (in this case) mode to whatever it was previous to the change. Is this a known thing, meaning is this NodeServer more for monitoring, or is is supposed to update the devices and mine is in need of coooorrrection? Thanks

I know the good folks here at UI are busy at work getting the Polisy ready to take on ISY as a standard, and I know that they are getting close to Z-wave functionality on the version of ISY they have pushed out to lucky guys like me who had broken PLM's and they got me back up and running with some direction. My Question is this: Does the Polisy have the Z-wave hardware? I mean if not, I will happily go through whatever process I need to, but I am wondering if there is already a Z-Wave controller on board thats just not active yet. And secondary question: Are there any other goodies (hardware or software) in my Polisy PRO that just dont have active uses yet or are just not active? Thanks!

I am with you... but this narrative that I took jabs is the issue. Its a misreading of the plot. I took no jabs at the tech or UD. I was using a counter argument for why peoples answers where not actually answers by asking "why would X be said if it wasn't true" meaning it was true and they were mistaken... not as a statement that they were untrue. Its just silly what's happened here.
-
I appreciate your sentiment. A good egg you are.
-
This is true. I didn't see the response. It was not unhelpful. But again, my critiques were not of the tech. Just the opposite. I was saying "why would UD have hardware and advertise" or "why would there be gits" as an agreement for why IT MUST BE POSSIBLE.... Aimed at people that were either flat out saying it wasn't or just directing me to the store.... That said, as I have yet to critique the tech our UD, let me start now why I have your ear... I get it may be an advanced machine meant not for the likes of me, but now that you mention it, it was pretty much sold with he concept of ease of use. I mean, I used the serve side and the store without difficulty so I am not completely ignorant fo the thing, and taught the hardware because it appeared to promise at least minimal access with relative ease to more than the store did. (note why the store continually be thrown at me as a solution is frustratingly circuitous.) As it turns out, there is very little more available with he hardware, and anything beyond that requires, I come to find out here, a notable amount of "not ease." And real documentation or guides are a thing no one has apparently invented yet. Add to that the fact that the forum has presented me with three distinct avatars with various names. 1: those that have no idea what they are talking about (which at times I include myself) who just keep replying "go to the store" 2: People who flat out state that the complication level is too much to bother talking to a "nube" about, making the concept of a forum silly unless its the same 10 people just holding court (which seems apparent upon perusal. and 3: Mods or VIP's that may or may not follow the plot, but hop all over erudite opportunities to miss the plot enough to excuse not really answering anything beyond a generic google search. I own 3 ISY's, and have been using them for years. Love it. Polisy sounded great. Maybe it is... apparently there are only a few people allowed to know.
-
Sigh. 1: those directing me to the store obviously were unaware that what I was saying was even a thing. 2: Your response is the only one that contained any information of any usable kind, short of a developer link, so that appreciated even given the context. 3: I get the walled garden thing, you either know it all or not at all and don't bother... that seems like a pretty shitty attitude to take. Why are those sorts on forums int he first place? Even if a structured answer fundamentally said "its not for you you don't know enough" at least that would be structured answer. This doesn't apply to anyone, as no one took either tack... instead they... 4: Misread the string as my complaining about the tech, and reacted like admonishing head mistressess. 5: I never critiqued the tech... I was saying "why would they advertise.... act" as a response to people seemingly acting as if what I was saying couldn't be done, or that the answer to my issue was the store. I was defending the fact that the tech WAS capable, and that THEIR ANSWERS around the store were wrong, and "why would they have the hardware, or advertising, or gits if it wasn't true" as an agreement that IT MUST BE TRUE... not the other way around. This experience has assured me that the world is completely doomed. Just bafflingly obtuse and intentionally complicated.

I have complained about nothing except people answering the question with "Use the store"... You are not one of those people. My position is that it all IS possible, and so now I am complaining about your complaint that I was saying it was not. The insanity just doesn't end.
-
Jesus Christ.... NOW your saying this, but your responding to MY responses to people telling me that all unneeded to do was download from the store! I literally said that what was frustrating was that each comment pointed toward the conclusion that it could not be done, and that I just needed to use the store. My saying “why would the site say....!” was directed at them. I was making the argument that their lack of acknowledging the capability when it obviously WAS possible was frustrating, and that the existence of those polys on git meant that their answer wasn’t making contact with my question at all. now your saying that my position was that it couldn’t be done? WTF. No one can follow a plot. It’s insane. Me: how do you get stuff on the polisy? collective: the store me: no I mean other than the store collective: the store me: there’s got to be a way to get stuff not in the store collective: wait for it to get in the store or vague reference to being a developer with no useable info. me: ((ignoring the vague developer mention and focusing on the continued references to the store and some flat out denial that what I’m saying is a thing.)) I know about the store... Jesus, why would the site say these things or the Gita be available if it can’t be done You: I can be done, why don’t you listen better. Insane. Insane. I know it can be done. That’s my whole point in the face of just being referenced to the store no matter how specific I am. Garbage. This has been garbage.

Ok, But I bought the physical polisy unit because they advertised it as being able to do just that, tinker with and add your own bits "with ease" and now it turns out that all I got was like 4 more poly's in the store than if iI had just kept using the virtual one.... Complete waste. I mean, why are their Git's for the thing if they cant be installed? Who's making git's that have no way to install? Its all nonsense.
-
Isnt there a way to install ones not in the store? Like from git hub...you know, like the one I’m referencing? In the quote. And in the op topic...
-
Not to be a nube, but how do I get these from GitHub onto the policy?
-
I recommend reading my entire post, as well. I stated that I used them, but they didn't download a file. It's ok. MWester helped.

Could someone Point me to the firmware files. The link in the top thread here downloads a folder with a larger number of files, not a file my Isy994i/IR Pro is asking for. Am I missing something, or the link? Please help. Newish at this, but have a pretty robust system for over a year so I am not completely dumb. Thanks again.
