The way I have it setup now by having the program directly access the Balance Dimmer instead of controlling the scene seems to be working 100%. I may try your suggestion later this summer just to confirm your suggestion. The only thing that would puzzle me now is why just the Balance Dimmer in a scene is having the issue? Why do all my other scenes work from a program? I'm hoping to buy at least one more Balance Dimmer this year. I hope smarthome has another summer sale so I can finish off my whole house and garage.

Just an update to my issues with a program turning on a scene with a Balance Dimmer. I have tried adding another light to the scene and the light will turn on and off according to the program while the Balance Dimmer sometimes will not turn on or off. I have delayed the program by 5 minutes before sunrise and after sunset. Still get the same result of the Balance Dimmer randomly not turning on or off. So far with my current test it is working fine but I just dont like how its setup. Here is the current working program. I have set the local ramp rate for the Ballance Dimmer to 8 minutes. In the program I am directly controlling the Balance dimmer and not a scene. BirdLight - [ID 004E][Parent 0001] If From Sunrise To Sunset (same day) Then Set 'InlineDevices / BD-BirdLight' On Else Set 'InlineDevices / BD-BirdLight' Off So far this setup turns on the light over 8 minutes and turns off over 8 minutes. All the switches that control the Balance Dimmer are set to a faster ramp rate and seem to work fine. Doing it this way seems messy to me but seems to work. I thought I might have issues with the switches controlling the Balance Dimmer but it looks like it accepts the ramp rate of the switches instead of using the local ramp rate. If anyone has any suggestions to try to get the program working with a scene instead of directly controlling it I will be willing to try them. With that said I still have other programs that control scenes at sunrise and sunset as well as different times or conditions and all the devices work fine in their scenes.

I'm still having issues with one of my programs. I have a scene called AutoBirdLight. In that scene I have an Insteon ballast dimmer controlling a 2x4 drop ceiling LED light. It is a responder in that scene. The Link Type is Insteon, On level 100%, Ramp Rate 8 minutes. BirdLight - [ID 0012][Parent 0001] If From Sunrise To Sunset (same day) Then Set 'AutoBirdLight' On Else Set 'AutoBirdLight' Off Today the sunset at about 18:04. Here is a log of what happened around that time. I also have my outside lights turn on in another scene with a ramp rate of 8 min to 50%. So far the outside lights come on and turn off at sunrise and sunset. The BirdLight does not or it does sometimes. I have deleted the program, scene, the Insteon Ballast Dimmer, and added everything back but I still cannot get the program to get the light to turn on or off reliably and I dont know why. Does anyone have any ideas on why the light will not turn on or off from the program? The only thing different from my other programs is that this is my only Insteon Ballast Dimmer.

I just wanted to update that it seems like my programs are working at the moment even though the motion sensors all want updated every time the program makes a scene change. If I can make the same changes in a program without the motion sensors wanting to update I will gladly take programming code suggestions. I still cannot get my IR Linc to respond to commands from the ISY. It would be nice to know if support was dropped or if this might be a bug. Log shows this when I click the On button in the scene. Wed 02/05/2020 18:27:03 : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 00 00 1A CF 11 00 Wed 02/05/2020 18:27:03 : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.1A CF 11 00 06 LTONRR (00) I know this might be a pain to suggest to people who are installing this RC/Future RC or even the final version when released but I think if it was highly suggested to do a factory reset and rebuild the entire network of devices from scratch it might be best to do that. But thats just from my experience upgrading from the 4.x branch to this RC1. I know other people have not had any problems upgrading. The one thing I have not done yet to try to get my IR Linc to work is to make a backup, do a reset, and just see if that device works on its own.

I did not know about this Polyglot. Very cool. Can even integrate a Tesla. Just need to get one first. Oh and my SolarEdge system. I guess I'm going to be busy seeing what this can do. I'll keep the Logitech harmony on my wish list while I look around for other devices. If it is the only one like you said it seems like it will do the job. Thank you for the suggestion.

I think I figured it out at least for the programs. I had to remove all devices from the scene and add them back before I got a simple program to turn on and off a light. When I want to adjust a scene in a program I select Adjust scene. Scene = Scene1, Controller = Motion Sensor, Set = what device to change, To = Insteon, then set the settings. I dont remember the ISY wanting to write updates to the Motion Sensors every time a scene is changed. The scene change still works even if I dont manually let them update. Is this normal? My IR Linc still does not work at all in the ISY. I've tried removing it and adding it back to a scene but when I go to the scene and turn it on nothing happens. I dont really have a remote for the TV. The original remote does not work 99% of the time and the only other device I had to control the TV was my old Note 3. Personally I never liked the Insteon IR Linc. It would lose settings every few times it was powered off if the power went out. Also because of my TV the IR sensor is behind the rear projector screen and I had to put the transmitter inside the TV for it to work. Total PITA. If I had to buy a remote or something I would rather have something that works with the ISY. If anyone has a suggestion on an IR blaster that can do the whole room that would be great.

I just updated to this version from the 4.x branch and I'm having several issues. Several of my programs no longer work. Mostly the ones based on time of day, sunrise to sunset. It may be because of the way I was changing scenes during these times. Example. scene has a keypad and an inline dimmer controlled by a motion sensor 2. UsBathroomDay - [ID 0024][Parent 0021] If From Sunrise To Sunset (same day) Then // In Scene 'MotionSensors / MO-UsBathroom-Sensor' Set 'Keypads / KPD-UsBathroom' OL 255 // In Scene 'MotionSensors / MO-UsBathroom-Sensor' Set 'InlineDevices / ILD-UsBathroomCab' OL 255 In 'MotionSensors / MO-UsBathRoom-Motion' Set 'InlineDevices / ILD-UsBathroomCab' To 100% in 0.5 seconds, No retries In 'MotionSensors / MO-UsBathRoom-Motion' Set 'Keypads / KPD-UsBathroom' To 100% in 0.5 seconds, No retries Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') You can see that the upgrade commented out the original program. I then tried to recreate it which is what you see. I have another similar program for night time with the lights dimmed sunset to sunrise next day. UsBathroomNightDim - [ID 0026][Parent 0021] If From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) And $UsBathroom is 0 Then // In Scene 'MotionSensors / MO-UsBathroom-Sensor' Set 'InlineDevices / ILD-UsBathroomCab' OL 12 // In Scene 'MotionSensors / MO-UsBathroom-Sensor' Set 'Keypads / KPD-UsBathroom' OL 0 In 'MotionSensors / MO-UsBathRoom-Motion' Set 'Keypads / KPD-UsBathroom' To Off in 0.5 seconds, No retries In 'MotionSensors / MO-UsBathRoom-Motion' Set 'InlineDevices / ILD-UsBathroomCab' To 25% in 0.5 seconds, No retries Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') In the night time program I also have another program set to turn the lights full on when requested from a switch which is why the variable is in the IF statement. This is just an example and I've been playing around with it trying to make it work. As of this post I dont know if I got it working right. When adjusting a scene in a program there are options I'm not sure on how to set correctly. There is Scene, Controller, Set, and To. I get the Scene, Set, and To is used for but why specify a controller? Is the above code the correct way to adjust a scene? Is there any new documentation on how to use the new firmware programming? Maybe some examples? Next issue is that my IRlinc transmitter no longer responds at all. I've tried resetting it and adding it back but when I send an On command nothing happens. I only have it setup to turn on and off my TV. It does respond to the local button press but it does not respond from a scene. Here is my error log. Its filled with this "-170001 [ZBSEP] Cannot query meter" message. The regular log does not show a command for the IRlinc was ever sent.
