Best way to add voice control to Eisy (NOT ALEXA)
I started many years ago with an ISY and upgraded the system a few years ago to an Eisy. These primarily control Insteon devices but have grown over the years to include a few Hue devices, some Yolink. It has all worked pretty well. Except integration of voice control with Aleza. While I have been able to make Alexa voice control work, it is inconsistent. Alexa loses the connection. Worst of all, Alexa, hands down, has the most frustrating and unintuitive interface I have ever experience. They should be ashamed to produce it. I am looking for a good approach to create some simple voice controls that will work with the Eisy. Basically, I am controlling some office and bedroom lights. All are Insteon based and work within the UD interface. Two of the bedroom lamps are Phillips Hue bulbs. I have the Hue add-in for Eisy but that has also stopped working. I can control the Hue lights directly with the Hue App. I'm wondering which way to go, of give up. Apple Homekit with hub? Home Assistant? Or something else. Whatever it is, the interface needs to be user friendly. I am more than happy to spend a few bucks to throw the Alexa product in the trash., Any Suggestions?

Can't log in with IoX
Dennis, Thanks. It isn't that I am new to the Eisy, I set most things up many years ago when I had the original Isy, The problem is that I rarely need to access to modify anything and I am old and forget. I think I have it back on track.

Can't log in with IoX
Thanks, Confusion gone. I figured out (fount) the portal user name and password. Why the change?

Can't log in with IoX
I am confused. Maybe I don't understand what the "portal" is. I thought that was where I had additional add-ons setup and I've navigated to that information from within the UD program launched with the icon. I am not aware of a separate username and password for the "portal". So I guess the question is how do I reset my password in the "portal".

Can't log in with IoX
I selected update, which it did, and now I can't log into the Eisy from IoX launcher. It does not seem to know my username or password (probably password) any more. I can log into it using the user name and password with eisy.local I cleared the JAVA cache and all programs already. Did not help. How do I fix this?

Zooz Tilt Sensor unreliable
Yes, it is a sectional garage door and I have it mounted to the back of the top panel. The door is currently closed and it is reporting nothing. Neither open or closed. Battery is 27%, which is surprising as the sensor is only 30 days new.

Zooz Tilt Sensor unreliable
I am trying out a Zooz tilt sensor to determine if a garage door is open or not. It appears to be working part of the time. In particular, it works when the door is open or closed for a longer period of time. But if the door is opened (it reports properly) and then shut within a few minutes, the sensor continues to show open. I think I have the settings correct, but who knows. I find the Zooz documentation, particularly as it relates to use within the Eisy rather lacking.

Notifications
Looks like that is the problem. I understand the issue but seems like the email provider could allow specified exceptions. A text is usually a better notification process than email.
-
Notifications
That got me most of the way there. Was it the time out change 1000-8000 or the FROM? I thought the FROM was optional. The email notification worked. I included phone#@vtext.com and received a permanent error message in my email for that. What works for text message?
-
Notifications
I've done all of that, multiple times. Using both Default checked and inputting the email settings. When testing, I get an SMTP error code 1 or 18 depending on the settings.

Notifications
I have Notifications Plug-in. I get notifications on UD Mobile. But how do I send a message (email and/or text) from the UDI interface? I don't see anywhere where I can select use Notifications.

Notifications
Converted over to the Eisy. My notification email and text are gone. I use an Exchange account, a comcast email account and xFinity for phone. I can't figure out how to get any of it to test working. I tried the comcast with the following settings: smtp.comcast.net, MyUserName, MyPassword, Ports 995, 587, 465 I think. TLS on and off. Xfinity is not listed in the text message list. Tried the Comcast...nothing. Not sure what to do next.

Zooz ZSE70 motion detector not working with Eisy Zwave add-on
Nice of them to give one so much time. Sounds like it is going to have to go up and down a few times to get things adjusted. I was thinking of putting a temp sensor in my attic. If I have to retrieve it to reset something, that now seems like a bad plan.

Zooz ZSE70 motion detector not working with Eisy Zwave add-on
Which brings up the question, exactly what is linking mode? Do I need to take it down, remove the back and use that back button? If so, pretty poor design.

Zooz ZSE70 motion detector not working with Eisy Zwave add-on
Still figuring it out. Zooz says its range is 30 feet. I'm seeing motion at closer to 40 feet. That will be a problem for me if I can't adjust the angle or sensitivity enough to tone it down. I have it pointed all the way down. Might have to build a wedge mount. I wish it had a range adjustment. Tried setting some parameters but can't tell if they are getting reset. I have the Event Viewer on and when I query a parameter, I see the get, but not a result. Same with sending a parameter. See a send, but not sure it is taking it. I like the design and quality. Not many outdoor motion detectors that are quality. I tried the Insteon, which is probably indoors, but the mounting on that thing looks like it was designed by a five-year-old.

Zooz ZSE70 motion detector not working with Eisy Zwave add-on
In the interest of full disclosure, I figured out the problem and I sincerely hope my mea culpa helps someone else. It helps everything work better if you put the Zwave antenna on the Zwave side of the Eisy ZMatter Add-on. This was hard to write.

Zooz ZSE70 motion detector not working with Eisy Zwave add-on
Here is what I have: An Eisy, the ZMatter Board and the ZSE70. I do not have a Zwave hub. I thought that is what the ZMatter Board would do (mesh network hub). Maybe I have that wrong. If all I need to add is the ZAC38 to make it work, I'm fine. Frankly, I'm confused why there is not an asterisk with the ZMatter Board page that indicates the LR is non-functional as part of an Eisy system. The distance from the Eisy to the motion sensor will be less than 30 feet and one wall. Otherwise, it maybe makes sense to return the UD device and maybe work on a different solution. If that is the option, I need to know who makes a good quality outdoor motion sensor that will work with the Eisy. I'm just trying to figure out the best thing to do without dropping money chasing something that does not work.

Zooz ZSE70 motion detector not working with Eisy Zwave add-on
Says that page does not exist when I click on it. If I were to add the below: Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Plus Range Extender and Signal Repeater ZAC38 Would that make the system work. Eisy - ZMatter Board - Motion Sensor? Not sure I understand how the Repeater works with the Eisy but the sensor will not.

Zooz ZSE70 motion detector not working with Eisy Zwave add-on
Our Long Range (LR) Certified Z-Wave+ ZMatter USB is the answer! Am I to understand that the LR Certified USB does long range but the Eisy I am plugging it into does not? Isn't that a little misleading?

Zooz ZSE70 motion detector not working with Eisy Zwave add-on
I've been running Insteon devices for years with an Isy and now Eisy. All I want to do is add a motion detector to the front of my garage. Tried the Insteon Product. Junk at best. Needs to be battery as no power available. I invested in the Eisy Zwave device, says it supports long range. I invested in a Zooz ZSE70. I got it to connect once, but I'm not sure it was all there and not sure it actually was talking. Even in the same room it won't recognize the motion detector. I'm perfectly willing to toss the Zooz and send back the Zwave device if someone has a working solution to my effort. Any help appreciated. The Eisy and Zwave add-on were all purchased and installed in the last few weeks.

Trying to set this up
That helped a lot. How do I add a wireless zone? I have Hardwired Main Bd, Hardwired Exp 2 and Wireless - Group 3. I added area 3, but I don't see the equipment. I am using input zones 1-35. Thanks

Trying to set this up
I just upgraded from an older Isy to an eisy. I had an Elk Tab on the old system. I understand that there is no tab on this plugin, but I'm pretty sure I have not completed the install. All I see in my UD interface is an Elk Controller listing and there is pretty much no information in there. I have some messages in the Polyglot 3x page. They are: Can't start elk until configuration is fixed host not defined '' ERROR: 09/24/2024 08:07:02 See log for: ELK Controller: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'panel' user_code not defined '' I'm not sure what to do about any of those. Are there step-by-step instructions for setting this up? Would like to get it running as I have a few programs that use Elk information. Thanks

Admin Console will not start
I run multiple monitors on a different computer, but I don't recall accessing the Admin Console from that computer. The computer I use to access Admin Console is a laptop. I don't think I would have ever found the "state files". The Universal Devices Wiki is incredible but an easy place to get lost for me. A ton of information. The ISY is great. Unfortunately, it is driving a lot of Insteon devices, but I am hoping for the new group over there restore Insteon options and issues (mostly replacement PLM's). I think that is my current Achilles Heel. Again, thanks!! I marked the post as the solution. Hope it helps others.
