Thanks, I am using the plugin and I'll post this problem on the HS forum as well. I'm also going to replace the PC on which HS2 is running, and I will explore rewriting the SD card as Teken suggested above. Thanks for the advice. Regards.

Thanks, but the IP address has not changed - I've set it to static in the ISY (though not in the router) and I am able to access it without any trouble at the static address (.200) from anywhere on the LAN. I think something else is causing the problem. I just noticed that when I click on some options on the ISY home page - for example, the 'Variable' option - I get a strange error: error, Loading: /vars/definitions/2/ It's as if the ISY has had it's internal (flash) memory corrupted. If that is the problem, does anyone know how to restore the flash memory? Regards.

I am running Homeseer 2 connected to an ISY 994i, which was working fine until about a month ago (I mad no system changes I can recall a month ago). Now, when I boot up the Homeseer app, I get this message in the log file: 12/20/2015 12:08:18 AM - ISY Insteon - COMM: Parse failure: <Event seqnum="8" sid="uuid:28"><control>_22</control><action>1</action><node></node><eventInfo><totalCostToday>0.000000</totalCostToday><totalCostPeriod>0.000000</totalCostPeriod><totalUsagePeriod>0.000000</totalUsagePeriod><cycleEndTime>2015/12/20 12:08:19 AM</cycleEndTime></eventInfo></Event> I have reset the ISY back to factory specs, and deleted al;l devices in the ISY and in HS2, and I still get the error. I'm running firmware 4.3.26 on the ISY. Any idea how I can correct this error? Thanks in advance for any help ....

OK, thanks, very helpful.

I have an Insteon keypad button that is a responder to a scene. I'd like to also make it a controller for that scene. Is there a way to "add" the controller capability? I can't seem to find a way to do that. Instead, I remove the button from the scene, then add it back to the scene and indicate that I would like it to be both a responder and a controller. This works fine, but I assume there must be a way to accomplish this in a single step, rather than in two steps. Thanks in advance for any help ...

Yes, I am getting the 'update failed' message as well, although now I can get into the app itself. Thanks for posting - I am also having intermittent wifi problems (unrelated) and not knowing about this was making the debugging a little harder.

I've tried running the Admin tool from the link indicated as the best way to access it (http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.3.7/admin.jnlp) and I am getting a 'page not found' error. Tried turning off my firewall and still got the error. I assume the problem is on my side, but on the off chance that it's at your end I thought I would post this. Any idea what is causing the problem?

I have recently seen two errors generated by the iSY 99i (via Homeseer and the iSY plugin): EVNT: ISY Status Event Check: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. and COMM: Parse failure: _52 Can someone explain what these errors mean? Or is there a place to look up error codes from the 99i? Thanks.

I use the 99i with Homeseer and the HS plugin. I recently upgraded to v3.3.4 and set my logging level to 'ALL', and I noticed that every 25 seconds the iSY is generating the following messages: COMM: Sending command [] EVNT: Event added to queue. Queue size = 1 EVNT: Event removed from queue. Queue size = 0 Should this be happening? Is it some sort of "stay alive' activity that I should not be concerned about? Thanks in advance for any help ...

I love the iSY-99i - I'm using it with Homeseer, and it makes using Insteon devices incredibly easy. I am trying to figure out which settings for ramp rates apply to which situations. Let's say I have a scene called "Family room", which turns on all the lights in the room, one of which is "Lamp 1". The scene is controlled by 'Button 1' on a keypad. In the administrative console, on the tree on the left of the screen, the scene is listed, and underneath the scene are the different devices associated with the scene, like this: Family room scene --- Lamp 1 --- Other devices in the scene --- Button 1 I can see three different places in the scene where the ramp rate for 'Lamp 1' is shown: - When I select (click on) 'Family room scene' the console lists the ramp rates for all the devices in the scene. The ramp rate for 'Lamp 1' is 0.5 seconds. - When I select 'Lamp 1', within the scene, the console lists the ramp rate for 'Lamp 1' only, with the designation '[Applied locally]'. the ramp rate is 0.5 seconds. - When I select 'Button 1' within the scene, the console lists the ramp rates for all the devices in the scene. The ramp rate for 'Lamp 1' is 0.1 seconds. I think I understand that the second example indicates that if I turn the lamp on locally, the ramp rate is going to be 0.5 seconds. But I am unclear what the ramp rate is if I trigger the scene from Button 1 - is it 0.1 seconds or 0.5 seconds? I suspect it is 0.1 seconds; and that if I trigger the scene from the iSY itself the ramp rate is 0.5 seconds. Is this correct? Thanks in advance for any help ...

Sorry, I was doing something wrong - when I set up the scene correctly (with both the Switchlinc and the Lamplinc as Controllers) it works perfectly, just like you said. Each one controls the other - so if a person manually turns on the lamp, the Switchlinc turns on. Pretty cool ... Thanks for your help.

Sorry to be dense, but I'm new at the ISY (I've worked mostly with Homeseer). When I create a new scene, I only have a choice of making each device a controller or a responder - I can't make each of the devices BOTH a controller and a responder. So if I set up the scene as I think you suggested (making both devices Controllers), then neither one controls the other - I assume because neither one is defined as a Responder (in other words, there are no responders in the scene, so when the scene is triggered nothing happens). If I set up the switch as a Controller, and the Lamplinc as the responder, then the switch controls the lamplink. Any ideas how to get the lamplinc to also control the switch?

Thanks for your help. These particular Lamplincs are quite new, so perhaps they will act as controllers. I'll delete the scene and start over, trying to make each device a controller and responder.
