Unusual Startup - Does anyone understand what this means....
Bob Amott posted a topic in IoX Support
Please see the attachment... I can click on either one to open and the program appears to run just fine. Also, if I make any changes it is seen in both. Note: Both UUIDs are identical. The top one's URL is https:eisy.local:XXXX/desc. The bottom one is https://192.168.XX.XX:XXXX/desc Thanks.... -
Thanks, I will start with your recommendations. Looks like both of my devices mentioned have node servers. I will get those added and look for the next steps in the documentation you suggested.

Question: Where might I find a resourse on getting started with Ployglot and other non insteon devices that I would like to integrate into my UD system. For example, I have a Somfy Shade and Monitor Light Bar Color+ light. Thanks
-
"Somfy’s been there forever" This is from a UD Post. It caught my attention as I do have an automated Somfy automated shade. I also recently updated to the Eisy with the USB Z wave/Matter dongle and Polygot 3 is active. So I'm interested to play but I don't have a clue as where to start. A little push in the right direction would be very much appreciated. Thanks

I am grateful for all the input. Goose66 & Geddy provided very helpful details of what was needed to understand and be considered in the programing to reach my specific objective. Input from others was also much appreciated and I have used those approaches in a couple of other new programs that use the Insteon Motion II detectors in a way that don't need a program to execute leaving the sensors to take on actions after triggering, such as waiting for X amount of time before turning off. So again thanks to all of you for your thoughtful responses.

SUNSET CAME AND ALL HAS RESPONDED CORRECTLY TO THE INTENDED OUTCOMES. Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge. I’ve been able to use all your input, if not on obtaining the ultimate desired result of this program then also applying your input to enhance other programs. Again many thanks!
-
All wonderful input to learn from. I understand one advantage to this approach is there is little delay. Correct?
-
Goose66 & Geddy, Thanks for the info! I actually started to go down the path of two programs for each time period but I didn't get them quite right. The description of the effects of my programs posted here were correct and allows me more insight into the IoX. Over the years as a novice, I have programed some interesting interactions between devices and scenes but this one just totally stumped me. I will integrate your input and see what happens this evening.

As I replied, the timeout is not critical. So I infer you are saying I should write programs that control the scenes by time day(/night) and let the sensor deal with the triggering the resulting scenes. I did not think of being able to modify a scene in the background and then calling on that modified scene having been preset to levels. I will experiment with that also.
-
Thanks, I’ll give it a try.
-
The actual timeouts are not the issue. They actually work. The problem is that the scenes are not being called in relation to the time parameters stated in the “If” statement.

Could use a great deal of help on this one. Thanks!! Question: is there a way to program the following scenario? On a stairway there are two Insteon Motion II detectors. One is at the Entry (at the base stairs) and the other is at the top of the stairs ((Hall-Up). There are three lights in the mix. Bottom of stairs (Entry), Middle of stairs and top in Hall at the top of the stairs. Other switches in the mix include: Entry Switch - Keypad (Insteon KeyPadLinc 5 button switch) at hallway next to the front door, bottom of stairs using Main Off and On buttons. Upper Hall Switch for ENTRY switch (ToggleLinc Dimmer) at top of stairs multi linked to the KeyPadLinc at the bottom of stairs Middle Stairs (Insteon InLineLinc Dimmer) Upper Hall Switch (ToggleLinc Dimmer) (Used to trigger Multi Link Scene which includes A lower Switch for the upper Hall light and a lower switch for the upper hall) The outcome to be desired is if either of the sensors sense motion then that motion triggers one of the two scenes reverent to the time of day. Results : I’ve tried several variations of the following programs with all work perfectly when tested within the program “Run (if), Run Then. The results when running the program pretty much ignore the time parameters. Once in awhile it might work but most of the time it runs through the night program and then the Day program and at night ends up on all lights on. My attempt, which I tried several variations: Created two 2 scenes: Day Lights & Night Lights. Daylight: Devices include: All the devices above at 100% Night Lights: Middle stairs only at 33% ProgramContent for “Hall Day If ‘Hallways / Hall-Up Sensor / Hall-Up.1 Motion’ is switched On Or ‘Hallways / Hall Entry Sensor / Entry.1 Motion’ is switched On and From Sunrise To Sunset (same day) Then Set ‘Hallways / Hall Lights Day’ on Wait 35 seconds Set ‘Hallways / Hall Lights Day’ off Else -No Actions Program Content for ‘Hall Night’ If ‘Hallways / Hall-Up Sensor / Hall-Up.1 Motion’ is switched On Or ‘Hallways / Hall Entry Sensor / Entry.1 Motion’ is switched On and From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) Then Set ‘Hallways / ‘Hall Night Lights’ on wait 20 seconds Set ‘Hallways / Hall Night Lights’ off Else -No Actions

From the lox I selected Polyglot V3 (PG3) Login screen appears and I add the same long in information as my Eisy (also tried admin/admin and also created an security exemption) Nothing happens. Thanks for any helpful direction

I am in he process of migrating to an Eisy from a Polisy. Polisy was on 5.6.2. I've been trying to get the Eisy to update to the same. Currently it is on 5.5.9. Is that the correct version for the Eisy? When I open the Eisy often it says that there are updated packages available. I have selected upgrade packages several times and nothing appears to have changed. Before I migrated I tried that out also and never was able to get matching versions. I migrated anyway and I've had some issues. Could the mismatched versions be making problems? Thanks for any input provided. Bob

Question: Is there any documentation on Insteon Motion Sensor II and LoX? Looking to see if there are changes in Linking and how to access the new "options" and how to change the "Battery" data from false to true and as such, able to see the battery level. Thanks

Insteon Ceiling Fan / Insteon 6 Button Switch - Polisy Control
Bob Amott replied to Bob Amott's topic in IoX Support
I missed relating the main steps for the solution. Since the fan has no physical light or motor chains to control the fan, I first linked the switch to the fan then turned on the light using Fast On Command. Left the light on, unlinked and relinked again. Finally setup all the motor links via UD methods. -
Insteon Ceiling Fan / Insteon 6 Button Switch - Polisy Control

Replacing a Bond Fan Controller and switch with Insteon FanLinc and ^button Switch. Thanks so much to Steve at Insteon and the folks in this thread that provided all the clues and advice necessary to finally figure out how to get this all working including the best way to program the Fan motor settings! The bottom line if you replace a Bond Fan Controller and Switch with an Insteon Switch switch and fan controller, Insteon was totally correct to tell me to have the light on when linking. (The fan came with the Bond switch and controller). I originally set the switch button on and linked them. That didn't work. Had no idea that I could turn the light on by doing a Fast On. Finally hit me that doing that was what I needed to do before I linked the Switch and the light. That finally worked. Thanks so much. -
Insteon Ceiling Fan / Insteon 6 Button Switch - Polisy Control
Bob Amott replied to Bob Amott's topic in IoX Support
Just realized your what your last question was about. Silly me. I didn’t realize that using the fast on/of does not allow dimming. I will have to play with it again, put it back in a scene and see if I need to hold on to the on button and see if it will fade up. Any suggestions??? -
Insteon Ceiling Fan / Insteon 6 Button Switch - Polisy Control
Bob Amott replied to Bob Amott's topic in IoX Support
Sorry about the screen shots. I will copy and paste in the future. Thanks for the tip. As for the FanLinc, yes I did do a Factory Reset. Interesting that the motor controls work as expected. Since this is an old house, I was concerned that the Neutral wireing might be an issue but I imagine if that was the case the motor control would not work. Correct? BTW, I'm using the Polisy, version 5.5.9. -

Yes, thank you. The lights dimmed when the Bond controller was connected. -
Insteon Ceiling Fan / Insteon 6 Button Switch - Polisy Control
Bob Amott replied to Bob Amott's topic in IoX Support
Funny, I'm a terrible speller but improper spellings just jump out to me. In this case it is on their new "FanLinc" also not identified as such on the controller. Anyway, I think that my issue may be that the fan that I'm dealing with was originally controlled by a Bond Device. There are no physical pull chains for the lights or fan. Insteon says when I link the switch with the FThe wiring from both the Bond and Insteon controllers are the same and the motor controls all work just fine. Just the light has been the issue only responding to Fast On commands. I was worried that I might have had an issue with the neutral line but it does not appear to be the case as all the motor controls are responding as expected. Thinking that there might be something inside the fan that interfaced to the Bond Controller (of course replaced by Insteon Controller) I decided to create a simple work around. Instead of double clicking the on and off buttons, I opted to just write a couple of programs to translate the 6 button single press on or off buttons to send Fast On and Fast Off commands to the fan. Seems to work just fine so far, just a short bit longer to respond. If polygot on my Polisy worked I would have gone down that path, but since Polygot does not work on my system even though I have the Zoos USB interface, I decided to stay 100% Insteon. When I decide to replace the Polisy with the Eisy or get my current Polisy working, then I might start looking into adding different smart devices. -
Odd Issue: I Just picked up the Insteon Ceiling or as Insteon spells it "Celing" Module 2475FC. Everything seems to work well except to control the lights on the fan I need to use the "Fast" on or "Fast" Off command in PoIisy or quickly double tap the On and Off buttons (Fast On/Off) on the wall switch to control the lights. As you can see from my screen shot. All switches are in separate scenes. The fan light is in a scene as are all of the fan motor controls. So I must have missed something somewhere. Thanks for guidance. Bob

Yes they are. Missed putting that info in my help request. I will try the unplug idea. Thanks

I have migrated from my old ISY and System appears to be working fine. Polisy (5200) reports Version: 5.4.0 - OpenADR (21010) - Networking Module (21040) - Z-Wave Module (21100) - A10/x10 Module (21060) ISY Portal info: (says it's not online???) That's another separate question. UD Mobile is also working. License Active: Yes License Expiry Date: 2023-04-01 Says Version 5.5.4 is now available! Under the Help Menu, I selected "Automatically Upgrade to XXX to 5.5.4. Tried that, nothing happens. Could not find a manual update option. When I was looking around I found the July 2022 update announcement: To update/upgrade your Polisy, please only use the Admin Console to the ISY on Polisy (IoP). "Current suggested method for updating: ISY Launcher to open the ISY Finder window. Once logged in navigate to: Configuration tab System Then click: “Upgrade Packages” Problem is I don't have an "Update Packages" button. I also don't have a pull down menu from the System tab "Polisy Systems Settings" So, I'm obviously have missed something along the way. Any help is much appreciated. Bob
