  1. I might have made a mistake. No big deal. This is good practice learning how to program the system.
  2. OK...asnwering my own question. I needed to define the keypad button as a "Controller" when I dragged it to the scene. Progress is happening!
  3. OK some hurdles but some progress. I could not add the new Keypad by using the "Adding by Insteon Address" method. I received a "Cannot determine Insteon Engine" error. However, if I added the device by "Adding by Linking Method", the new keypad was added successfully. Now I am trying to modify the scene with the new keypad and then I will remove the old keypad when everything is working. I simply want to replace the "bad" MB KPL.B button with the "good" MB KPL 2024.B button in the programming. So how do I link the MB KPL 2024.B button as the "controller" to the MB Ceiling Fan Light? Seems simple but how is it done? How do I link a button of the keypad to the output of the fan light?
  4. Thanks for the help! I will work on the system this weekend, and let you know how I make out.
  5. Hello everyone! I bought a house 5 years ago that has a whole bunch of Insteon "stuff" installed, and I need some help to point me in the right direction to fix a problem. I apologize if the language I use is not the correct lingo, but I am trying to learn. I am using a ISY944i with firmware 4.7.3. I have been able to connect to it with the Universal Devices Administrative Console. I have an 8-button keypad (2486D) that used to work but now all of the lights on the keypad just blink on and off constantly. I have pulled power to the keypad, and trid to re-intiatialize it from the Administrative console with no luck. I tried to reset it to factory settings by pushing the little button under the buttons. It may be dead. I purchased a new replacement Insteon 2334-2 8 button keypad in case I need it. Questions: How do I set the address of a new keypad? Is the new keypad a direct replacement? The program shows the keypad address was 1C.15.D9 for the old keypad. Do I use the use this New Insteon Device command in the Administrative Console? Can someone reccomend the best procedure for me to replace the old keypad with the new keypad? Any other thoughts? Thanks!
