Most of my oldest programs are operating as intended, but some them along with all of any new programs aren't working at all. I have looked in the program summary tab and it shows that the ISY99 is actually running them, but it's not actually implementing the changes. I've tried restoring devices and am considering doing some more drastic restorations to get this fixed. Any ideas? Thanks. David

That's unfortunate, but fair enough. I'll just have to be extra careful when adding new buttons I suppose.

Is it possible to remove an IRLinc Button from the ISY99i without removing the entire IRLinc module and all the other buttons with it? Thanks, David

I've read a few other posts on this and have come to realize that I'm a bit confused on this. I was trying to logon to my ISY from my work computer using an external IP address. I was able to logon to my ISY at work at one point, but when I got on it gave me a popup about how my lack of an SSL Cert was a security risk. So I went here: https://www.universal-devices.com/ssl/insteon clicked and installed a self-signed SSL Certificate by entering in my.external.ip.address. When I went back to my https://my.external.ip.address:443/admin, I get an error popup that reads something like this: "XML Parse Error my.external.ip.address" and a second one something like: "Socket Open Failed Java.lang.Nullpointerexception" and my admin console never loads. I'm not really sure what to make of this other than my self-signed SSL cert sorta messed things up. I assume having SSL (single socket layer?) certificates is better than not, but not when it makes my admin console unusable. Please forgive me if I may be a bit rusty on my internet security knowledge, but I'd like a little help on how to solve this, thanks in advance.[/img]

I didn't change anything but realized last night that the scene configuration i referred to in my last post actually does work, except that it only works as an non-toggle "ON" command, thus I cannot turn the light off. This weekend I'd like to teach my URC remote different IR codes (perhaps the one's the ISY uses) to see if it's the IR code from the IRLinc's CC remote that is causing this non-toggle issue. I'll post again when I'm finished.

Last night here's what I did: I busted out the little credit card remote and had my URC MX980 remote learn the CC remote's buttons, assigning them sequentially to my URC remote's 0-9, +10 and 'Enter' buttons, 12 in total. In the ISY's Admin Console I went to "Link Management" and "Add button to IR Linc Receiver". I pushed the set button and was able to get my URC remote to talk to the IR Linc Receiver by pressing the URC's "1" button. When I clicked okay on the dialog box in the Admin Console, the button was added as a new device as expected. However, when I added the button to a simple scene to test, and pressed "1" on the URC remote nothing happened. I DID see the IR Linc's (ridiculously bright) blue LED flash indicating the signal was received. What I'm not sure about is why the ISY didn't pass the signal to actually turn on the light. The signal got lost between the "IR Linc ---> ISY ---> Light" transition. Any ideas?

Maybe that's just it. I've gotten the IRLinc to show up in the ISY admin console, but no buttons...do the buttons even need to be added? Or do i just write ISY programs to react to the signals received from my universal remote?

I just picked up a Universal Remote Control MX-980, have an ISY 99i on version 2.7.8 and an IR Linc Receiver/Remote. I have gotten the MX-980 to learn the buttons on the IRLinc Remote, but I'm not really sure how to make the buttons show up in the ISY Admin Console. Can someone explain to me how to go about making the ISY recognize the various buttons on the IRLinc? thanks! PS. My plan is to link the IR Linc remote's A, B, C.... buttons to my 1,2,3... buttons on the remote. After this I plan to write individual programs in the ISY to "code" different lights i.e. i'll have remote macros output "1,1,1,enter" and the ISY program will recognize "1,1,1,enter" and turn on a specific light or scene. Anyone have any better ideas how to link more than the 12 buttons the IR Linc remote is capable of?

In trying to solve this, I realized that i have a VPN running that I need to access work programs from home. I shut it down and the ISY is responding as expected now. I learned something today

I've been trying to log into my ISY's page for a few hours now and the web page always fails to load and the GUI never opens. I've tried the page suggested on the http://www.universal-devices.com/99i website which does get the GUI to pop up, but when the GUI loads none of my devices, programs scenes appear, it just sits there with blank tabs. It never says "system busy" or "ready", the tabs can be clicked, but they're all totally blank. I've tried clearing Java's cache and I've tried disconnecting the ISY's power for a few seconds neither did anything at all. HELP! I'm totally cut off now...what can I do to fix this?

I've got a lamplinc in a scene where it's called to turn on to 50%. When I press the keypadlinc button controlling the scene, all the switchlinc responders do their job, but the lamplinc hesitates. After pressing the same button 2 or 3 more times eventually the lamplinc responds. I've got a pair of access points, one is positioned in the same room as the PLM and ISY. The other is on the same floor of the house and one room away from the lamplinc in question. Anyone else had issues with missed signals for lamplincs? All the switchlincs respond great, just the lamplinc has issues. Any help is appreciated.

I setup a scene called "Party" which controls a set of lights, all at different on levels. To set the on levels of the individual lights, I clicked on the scene in the main tab of the ISY 99i GUI and start sliding the sliders accordingly. I have an 8-button KL with a dedicated "Party" button, so I made this the controller of the scene. I touch the "Party" button and all the correct lights come on but the all come on at 100%, ignoring their respective on levels I set up. Out of frustration I setup a program as follows which achieves the desired affect: If Control '2F Living, 8KP, Party' is switched On Then Set Scene '2F Living 8KP, Party' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') So here's my question: What is the point in having scenes if you have to put a program to make them operated as intended? I thought that by putting the Party button as the controller it would control the scene with the scene's settings... Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance!

Good to know! thanks.

I've decided to do a full factory reset of all my switches. In doing so I realize a question I have: Is it necessary to make the ISY99i aware of the access points? Do I need to add them to the "my lighting" in the ISY GUI or do they just act passively without adding them? Just curious, and thanks in advance.

Okay, I've gotten the scene fixed after leaving it alone for a few hours. I tried your method and tested it and it worked. This is what I came up with: If From 11:00:00PM To 6:30:00AM (next day) Then In Scene '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' Set '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' 35% (On Level) In Scene '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' Set '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' 35% (On Level) In Scene '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' Set '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' 35% (On Level) In Scene '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' Set '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' 35% (On Level) In Scene '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' Set '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' 6.5 Sec (Ramp Rate) In Scene '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' Set '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' 6.5 Sec (Ramp Rate) In Scene '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' Set '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' 6.5 Sec (Ramp Rate) In Scene '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' Set '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' 6.5 Sec (Ramp Rate) Else In Scene '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' Set '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' 100% (On Level) In Scene '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' Set '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' 100% (On Level) In Scene '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' Set '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' 100% (On Level) In Scene '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' Set '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' 100% (On Level) In Scene '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' Set '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' 0.1 Sec (Ramp Rate) In Scene '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' Set '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' 0.1 Sec (Ramp Rate) In Scene '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' Set '2F Hallway, 1-2 Stair, Master' 0.1 Sec (Ramp Rate) In Scene '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' Set '2F Hallway, 2-3 Stair, Slave' 0.1 Sec (Ramp Rate) It works fine, and I suppose that's all that matters, but I still have questions. What confuses me is if I have to setup this sort of excessive and repetitive conditional statements for a scene with only two switches...what happens if I want to do this in a much more complex scene? Or more importantly, what is the point in being able to adjust these settings within the scenes I put together such as my '2F Hallway, Crosslink' scene as mentioned earlier in this post. Thanks for your help, and if anyone has some answers I'm ready to be educated!
