  1. Thanks, I'll give it a whirl and report back later. Wayne
  2. Just got a replacement PLM. How should I proceed? Should I start by doing a restore PLM? Thanks, Wayne
  3. Thanks for the help, Wayne
  4. Mike, I was at work Thurday and trying to talk one of my kids through the steps to set the ports in the ISY. She must have been hitting the retern key twice. This morning before work I set the ports in the ISY to 433. In my router I set port 433 forward to the ISY's IP. When I got to work I tried to remote into the Isy by typing http://my.ip/443. I get a page that tells me there is a problem with the websites security certificate (I will avoid this in the future by creating the proper certificates). I continue anyway and get to the page where I am prompted to login (says that this ip, which is my ip with no port id after it, requires a login. I type in my ID and password and then I get 404 webpage cannot be found. I seem to be one step forward so that's good! Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help, Wayne
  5. When I reset the PLM, I get the flashing light sequence then it goes dark. When I press buttons on any Insteon switches/keypads I don't get any flashing of the light on the PLM. Also, as stated earlier, I still don't see the PLM connected the the ISY when I check the status of the PLM. It looks like I will have to call smarthome and get an RMA#. Wayne
  6. Rand Is it possible the PLM could have been dead for a while and I just didn't know it? I have not used the admin console to operate any devices in months? I only went to use it a couple days ago so that I could replace some bad devices. Other than that it has been a case of "set it and forget it". Seems odd/coincidental, that everything was working fine until I uprgaded the ISY firmware, but I guess its possible the PLM was already dead. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll give them a shot after work. Wayne
  7. I need help to Configure Webserver Ports. I can telnet and log into the shell and type "CWP" which gives me the invalid port setting dialog. How do I change it to the port I assigned in my router? Thanks for any help, Wayne
  8. Mike, Here is what I saw: "0.0.0.V0 not connected" I rebooted my ISY and power cycled my PLM but still get "0.0.0.V0 not connected". Wayne
  9. Hello everyone! I have been gone for a long time due to a very reliable setup, but I'm back with some major (to me anyway) trouble. I hope you all can help. My system had been running great but I had 2 SL dimmers and 3 SL relays quit working, totally blacked out with no power. So I got some replacements and installed 1 of them (a relay). I logged in to the admin console and was advised to upgrade to the latest firmware, so I did. I performed a backup as well but the file shows that it is 0kb so I don't think there is anything in that file. I tried to restore from the backup during all this and it failed as well). Now nothing works from the admin console. I can't even change the status of a light. I tried to do a "replace with" fuction for the new SL but I just got the eternal system busy indicator. No matter what I try I get "failed" and/or "can't communicate with device" (any of the devices even when just trying to cycle a light on and off from the admin console). I power cycled the ISY-26 and the PLM but nothing has changed. If I have to reset all of my devices and clear my PLM/ISY I'm ok with that as I'm going to make a bunch of changes to my current setup anyway. I have 5 replacement switches and I'm adding a couple more as well as changing a few of my scenes. Does anyone have any suggestions I can try when I get home from work? If I have to start from scratch, what's the best way to proceed clearing everything? By the way here is a list of devices I have: Universal Devices ISY-26 7 of the 8 button KPL dimmers (2486D) 11 of the Switch Link Dimmers (2476D). Will soon be 8 instead of 11. 3 of the Switch Link Relays (2476S). Will soon be 6 instead of 3. 1 Switch Link Dimmer 1000 watt (2476DH) 1 set of the old access point/phase couplers (whatever the were called) 1 OutletLink I plan to install this weekend. 1 X10 Powerflash Interface 1 X10 phase coupler that plugs in to a 220 volt drier outlet I have about 10 scenes in the ISY. Thanks for reading such a long post and for any input, Wayne
  10. Rand, Thanks for the help. I'll try that out next weekend. Wayne
  11. I have 2 SLD's and 1 SLR that have recently died and need to be replaced. They are linked to 4 KPL's. As of now the ISY can't communicate with the dead switches. My questions are: If I take out the dead switch from the wall then replace it with the new one and perform a "replace unit" from the ISY GUI how will the ISY remove the links from the KPL's since the dead unit has been removed? Will ISY rebuild the links between the new device and the KPL's? I thought I had read that the best way to do a "replace device" in this situation is to temporarily wire up the new unit into one of the tabletop boxes (I have one) and add it to the ISY. Then perform a "replace device" and then do the physical replacement of the unit. Is that true? Thanks in advance for any help, Wayne
  12. Thanks, That's what I meant. I already have 2.6, eagerly waiting for 2.7. Wayne
  13. Thanks for the info. I'll be eagerly waiting for 2.6. Wayne
  14. I just thought I would let everyone know that I have turned off my LED backlights and it is nice, unfortunately when one light is on (like button H for example) that one button still lights up super bright. In other words you can dim or turn off the backlight for when the status of a button is off but when the status of the button is on the LED is as bright as it normaly is.
  15. I vaguely remember seeing my question addressed in another post but I can't find it. Will version 2.6 allow the function of changing the LED backlight brightness as well as turning it off on KPL 1.5's? It would be cool to create a schedule to dim or turn off the led backlights at around 10pm and have them turn back on at 6am or something like that! Isn't 2.6 already out? Does it support the feature discussed here or is it going to be available in 2.6x I have a V1.5 KPL and I've only been able to turn the backlight LED's off. I have been unsuccessful at dimming them!
