Triggering on the state of the Input on a Zooz Zen17
Hi Peter I managed to find a partial solution to my problem with using the inputs on a Zen17, but not the complete solution. I discovered that if I didn't set Parameters 2 and 3 to 10 (on/off report -dry contact switch/sensor) and then remove (aka exclude) and add (aka include) the relay, the input node for the binary sensor never appears on the console. Once I do that, I can get the first binary sensor node to appear, but never the second one. In the screenshot below, ZY 031.1 Binary Sensor appears, but not ZY 031.2 Binary Sensor. I've attempted to set Parameter 3 ten times on two different Zen17 Relays, and I always get the result you see below. By the way, the reason I'm up to Z-Wave device 31 is becuase all the Exclude/Include attempts keep incrementing the device numbers - I'd love find a way to go back to the initial device numbers. Adding insult to injury, I've been able to use the Status of ZY 031.1 Binary Sensor if I connect S1/C to a dry contact sensor (actually a spare toggle switch for testing). However, when I connect V1/C to a 12V DC sensor, I receive no response in my logic. And my sensor sends 12 VDC when true, so that is what I need. I thought that there might be another Parameter I need to set, but so far, I haven't found it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Eric

Triggering on the state of the Input on a Zooz Zen17
Would anyone happen to know how to detect/trigger on the state of the S1 Input on a Zooz Zen17 Relay in an EISY program? I'm trying to allow a program to run once the input from a temperature switch closes. Regards Eric

Let's discuss backup strategy
You make an excellent point Guy. It is one thing to back up the logic using the Admin Console, but that doesn't help when the whole EISY is acting like a brick. I faced that exact problem this week, trying to upgrade to 6.0.0. Fortunately, Michael came to my rescue, and we determined that the file system on the EISY was corrupt, but our home was without a functional EISY for three days. That presented a real problem because we use the EISY for a lot more than just turning on a few lights. It manages our water system levels, our irrigation system and our Z-Wave lock and access system. Had the EISY not been recoverable, I wouldn't have been able to get one for about a month, as I live in Canada and having no automation at all for that time would've had a significant impact on our life (and plants). I'd really like to see a bit of documentation on how to back up and recover an entire EISY system. Like you suggest, I have a spare PLM (too many of those have failed over the past 20 years), and a spare power supply for the controller. However, I'm reluctant to purchase a full EISY to have it sit in a box for a decade. I'm also unclear how I migrate over the various plug-ins I've purchased over the years and if I need a separate backup for my Z-Wave dongle. Does anyone feel like starting some commentary on any one of those backup subtopics? Or discuss the design of a hot backup system with a primary and secondary ISY in hot standby (frankly, I doubt that is possible, but I'm curious if anyone else has this)?

Error message: "Z-Wave dongle not responding"
Hi I tried a number of reboots, both from the console and by power cycling, all without any success. My upgrade to 5.0.16C was back in 2020 so that isn't the issue. That said, I did move the ISY994 to another part of the house as its old location was being renovated. I expected to have to heal the Z-Wave but I can't even talk to the dongle. Like you said, the board could be going bad but I'll try reseating it incase the travel across the house was hard on it. If that doesn't work, I guess I better order the new 500 series board.

Error message: "Z-Wave dongle not responding"
I'm getting the following error message on the Admin Console: "Z-Wave dongle not responding". I can't seem to find any reference to this message on the portal. FYI, it is an old 300 series and I am running 5.0.16C - still need to get a new 500 series dongle. Any suggestions?
