  1. Please disregard I found the correct zipped file and was able to do the upgrade to 5.3.4! Thanks for all your help!
  2. So, I clicked your link and read the instructions - when I go to load the downloaded firmware (5.3.4) it comes over as a unzipped folder labeled "Insteon_5" with three folders in it labeled "WEB, DEF, CODE" when I look in each one I don't know what file to choose to initiate the firmware upgrade? Also, I then just zipped the folder and tried again and it just gave me an error. Do you have any advice? I was hoping the upgrade from 5.3.0 to 5.3.4 would be seamless but not so lucky...
  3. Yes very good to know - I do currently have the cat5/serial connecting the PLM to my ISY994. I So, I would need the kit if/when I go the EISY route. Or (just because my PLM is old) I’d just buy a new usb PLM.
  4. Yes that definitely helps - given your feedback and my current skill level - I’m thinking I should stick with my current ISY994 and get everything updated and current. Then spend sometime learning before I move forward. Given my investment and versatility I’m still committed to the Insteon/ISY994 devices. I do have a Lutron Caseta setup in my beach house and definitely see the limitations in versatility there. However, as I’m sure your aware the Caseta stuff is super basic but extremely dependable.
  5. BTW I’m not familiar with what Polisy is? Was it just the newer better version of the isy994? And now EISY is the newest? Am I correct with either of these I still need the PLM to integrate my Insteon devices (I have about 50 through out my house)
  6. Hmm, okay I’ll start looking more into the node servers and how I would integrate. I already do integrate “Alexa” functionality using the “my.ISY.io” server and it seems to work okay. I’m sure it’s probably clear I’m not an engineer or developer but am interested in the tech and learning. Do you think given my set up w/the isy994 etc. the EISY would be easy enough to setup connecting to my PLM? I definitely interested in the whole system being more reliable, fast , stable, etc.
  7. Also, thanks DennisC for your reply as well - I will definitely follow Getty’s directions on the firmware. I really appreciate all the advice!
  8. One other question - given that I’m currently using an ISY994i and I’m only using Insteon devices - would there be any benefit for me to upgrade to the newer EISY device?
  9. I'll read all the info you sent but now that I sort of have things working I'm really hoping going from 5.3.0 to 5.3.4 won't be too much of a headache.
  10. Thanks for replying and the info - Yes so as I was editing/recreating some of the programs I noticed I was able to choose a "device" and get it to work - then also realized all of a sudden I could choose "scenes" and got them to work as well. Prior it would only give me the choice to "beep, query" I have no idea what changed. Now I notice the functionality for the other programs is listed properly and works. I have no idea why? Also, I think at one point I was at 5.3.4 but then probably reverted back somehow. I did notice when I choose the "LAN" option from the Launcher for the Admin Console - the UI is 4.9.0 and the firmware is 5.3.0. I looked around and tried to figure out how to upgrade and get them to match but had no luck.
  11. Just to clarify - I upgraded using my MAC and now both firmware and UI show 5.3.0. And I'm only using Insteon devices. I also use my.isy.io and can turn things on and off remotely with MobiLinc Pro.
  12. I upgraded my ISY994 to 5.3.0 and now some of my programs don't work and when I try to delete and reprogram I can't choose a "then" statement to turn a device on - it will only "query" the device. Does anyone know why? Can I revert my firmware back to 4.something? Any advice is appreciated.
