Looking to save some $$s. LOL

Yes, the Dakota has some very nice features, but no night mode. However, a night mode can be programmed through the ISY, which is how I have mine setup.

I'm already using an IR-3000 with an Insteon 5010E (EZSNSRF) and I was going to add another sensor. Perhaps I should just stick with an IR-3000. http://www.smarthome.com/smartenit-ezsnsrf-dakota-alert-wireless-sensor-receiver.html
-
Aside from price, what's the difference between these two devices? Is one any better than the other? http://www.smarthome.com/dakota-alert-ir-3000-3000-series-wireless-ir-motion-sensor.html http://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2842-222-wireless-motion-sensor.html

I'm having similar problems with the same kind of Insteon Device. I tried LeeG's suggestion of using Event Viweer and changing to level 3 and this is what I received. The 2475S is inside an exterior flood light. What does this indicate? Hey Michel. Good to hear from you. You are correct. The switch is an 8-button KeypadLinc Dimmer, but the floodlights are connected to Smarthome In-LineLincs (Non-Dimming). What is an ELK? Any insight on to why this happened? Do you think I should reset the ISY-26? Thanks, Kelly

By the way the floodlights indicated in the log are fluorescent and can only be on or off (0 or 100%), but the log shows 88% which isn't even possible.

Apparently, last night my ISY-26 went crazy and decided to turn on a whole bunch of lights randomly. We discovered it this morning. This has never happened before. It's about 4-years old. Could it be reaching it's end-of-life? Are there any diagnostics I can run to see if it's functioning properly. Thanks, Kelly

I'm having similar issues. Did you purchase your TED 5000 direct from the manufacturer or through a distributor?

So before you changed the dip switch you weren't able to use it in a program?
-
The Dakota EZSnsRF receiver shows up, as do the KPL and LampLinc, but the IR-3000 does not. I have not been able to successfully use the EZSnsRF as a control in a program, but I'm not a programmer, so I could have something coded wrong. Thanks for your help.
-
I am able to make the Dakota work in a scene, but not with a program. Since the scene doesn't understand time of day, that method is very wasteful "energy wise".
-
Here are the answers to your questions: 1. Yes, front porch lights are controlled by button 1, which I believe is the KPL primary load. 2. Lamp is controlled by a LampLinc contoller. 3. I am not familair with the signal received by the ISY. Thanks, Kelly
-
Good question. I'm using a Dakota Alert EZSnsRF #5010E. http://www.smarthome.com/31275/SimpleHo ... ver/p.aspx
-
I'm using a Dakota Alert IR-3000 infrared detector and I'd like to setup a program that turns on the front porch lights and a living room lamp, both of which are controlled by an Insteon 8 button KeypadLinc. I only want this program to activate AFTER sunset and BEFORE sunrise, so it won't waste energy, and I'd like the lights activated to turn off 15 minutes after they've been triggered. How do I set that up? Thanks, Kelly
-
Thanks to 2.7.7, I was finally able to get my EZSnsRF to play nicely with my IR-3000 infrared detector. Both devices are now in a scene and trigger outdoor lights when a guest and/or intruder approaches the house. I only have one problem remaining. How can I only get this to operate at night? Thanks, Kelly
-
I forgot to plug in one of my Insteon remotes, which was also part of the Scene. That was the problem. Everything is cool now. Sorry. Kelly
-
I'm having some trouble removing devices and scenes in 2.7.7. Any advice?
-
Yep, that's the problem. I spoke with SimpleHomeNet tech support and they confirmed that the device needs to be added as a controller. Once 2.7.7 is out is it better to setup this device as a Scene or a Program?
-
Yes, I think something is wrong with the instructions. I couldn't get past Step 4. I tried holding the button but then it went back into link mode. By the way, what firmware version do you have on your EZSnsRF? If you updated it, how did you do that?
-
Yes, I'm having the same problem. I set it up last night and it was pretty solid. Tonight the sensor only triggered the EZSnsRF about 60-70% of the time. BTW, we your sensor triggers the EZSnsRF does the state go ON and OFF real quickly or does it stay ON?
