Yeah I just realized myself that might be the problem. So if I understand correctly, programs that are disabled won't re-evaluation the "IF" clause while they are being executed. So I'll need to change the dimmer program to be event based...
-
Yep, I could do that indeed. My intent was to not have multiple scenes with different ramp rates. When I click a scene controllers, I want the 2 second ramp. The long ramp is only acting as a warning that the lights are going to be turned off soon, so better activate the motion sensor to turn them back on. For your second question, I think I answered it in the last post, which is that only the "Kitchen Occupancy" scene is "active"
-
Good point, what I forgot to include in the program list is that most of the kitchen specific programs are disabled and only called by others. I have updated the GIST to reflect this. To answer your questions. a) Only the Kitchen Occupancy program is triggered from events, the other 3 are explicitly called by THEN or ELSE paths All the devices listed are in the scene. My intention is not to reset the scene to "full on" if you have made manual adjustments to any of them.

Here it is. https://gist.github.com/marclennox/1507 ... tfile1-txt

Is there an easy way to do this (copy and paste program content)?

The "state" program is working correctly, in that it changes from true to false and back at the right moments When the "state" program turns from true to false, the downstream program doesn't appear to be re-evaluating and running the else clause. Now to answer your question, I am testing this by explicitly calling the downstream program (IF clause). Is this why it's not working?

In order to reduce repetition in my programs I have created a number of programs that I use as variables, which I call, as an example, isDaylightHours, isKitchenMotionOn Because they are programs they will get set to true or false as things change. I then use these programs in the IF clause for other programs, which seems to work fine. I have one particular program, though, where I use 2 of my state programs in the if clause, and in the THEN clause I do a repeat with a 1 second wait on each iteration. During the course of executing the THEN clause, if the control programs in the IF clause change values such that the result is False, the program does not seem to stop and re-evaluate to the ELSE clause. Is there some limitation with programs in the IF clause or with repeat loops that would prevent the program from halting and re-evaluating?

ISY 99i not showing all switches for 2334-232 keypadlinc
mlennox replied to marksidell's topic in ISY994
I understand that it officially doesn't support them, but as far as I can tell, the ones I added with the "replace" function are working perfectly. So the question remains, how can I hack in another dual band switch without having an existing switch to "replace"? Is there a way to edit the INSTEON addresses manually? -
ISY 99i not showing all switches for 2334-232 keypadlinc
mlennox replied to marksidell's topic in ISY994
So I've just run into this same problem it seems, although I have reason to believe that the 99i in fact does support newer keypadlincs, as evidenced by my circumstance. I recently received warranty replacements for 3 keypadlinc dimmers to replace 3 failed units. The replacements are 2334-232 while the old ones were the older firmware models. After physically swapping out the keypads, I started the linking process to add the switches. As others have seen, they only showed up as a single entry instead of 8 separate entries (one for each scene button). I thought this was strange, but I then used the ISY99i feature to "replace" the failed device with the newly linked keypad, and voila, the new 2334-232 works as expected, and I can assign each individual button to scenes within the 99i, no issues I have seen. However, I also purchased an additional 2332-232, which also shows up as a single device. But for this one, I don't have an existing switch already programmed in ISY99i to swap it with, so I can't get all 8 buttons showing up on this one. Clearly the 99i supports the newer keypad for the purposes of scene assignment and programming, just not during linking. So my question, is there a "hack" I can use to copy an existing switch that I can use to perform a "replacement"? -
nothing has changed and i have several other static ip devices on the network working fine. the problem started when mobilinc account expired. how do i remove that module?
-
Didn't help. Any other suggestions to debug this?
-
I've had static IP for years on the ISY no problems.. nothing has changed in that respect. At any rate, after switching to DHCP and then back to static IP, things were working... but unfortunately they are no longer working again. Not sure where to go next.
-
DHCP worked... so can I go back to static now?
-
I recently tried the Mobilinc Connect add-on, which I let expire after the 30 day trial. Since that point, my ISY99i can no longer do DNS updates, which is affecting time updates and email notifications. Please help. See attached screen capture when trying to send a test email.

I thought I would raise this to a separate thread. I've got a really weird issue that started several days ago where the admin password is continually being reset to "admin", along with location information being continually reset to Los Angeles. I've noticed some error log entries as follows, not sure if this is related. Sun 2011/11/13 02:48:34 PM System -170001 UDQ:Queue Full: LOG Sun 2011/11/13 02:48:42 PM System -170001 UDQ:Queue Full: ERROR_LOG Sun 2011/11/13 02:48:44 PM System -170001 UDQ:Queue Full: LOG Sun 2011/11/13 02:48:54 PM System -170001 UDQ:Queue Full: IPOLLWAKEUP I'm starting to think my unit is fried, how should I go about resolving this?
-
And it seems that Mobilinc is intermittently unable to communicate with the device. It seems like the ISY is continually resetting itself and rebooting. It disappears from the network, then reappears, then disappears, each time this happens it resets the password and location settings.
-
This is really getting annoying. I keep getting the location set back to Los Angeles, California which is 3 hours behind me. And the password keeps getting reset to admin. I see this in the error log Sun 2011/11/13 02:48:34 PM System -170001 UDQ:Queue Full: LOG Sun 2011/11/13 02:48:42 PM System -170001 UDQ:Queue Full: ERROR_LOG Sun 2011/11/13 02:48:44 PM System -170001 UDQ:Queue Full: LOG Sun 2011/11/13 02:48:54 PM System -170001 UDQ:Queue Full: IPOLLWAKEUP

So I'm definitely still seeing some weird behaviour. I am intermittently unable to access (or even ping) the device, and the admin password and location are continually being automatically reset to factory defaults. How can I diagnose this?
-
Avast is the problem indeed. That being said, something else happened simultaneous to the Avast update that caused a password (and timezone/location) reset on the device. The restore operation seems to have resolved this. Any idea how to get Avast to not block this? Thanks for the help.

I've tried restoring to 3 different backups. The result is the same every time. I do the restore, which take about 2 minutes, the device reboots and when I log back in it gives me a system busy progress bar which takes several minutes to reach 100%. After it's done, there's no status on any device. Attempt to restore PLM links result in nothing happening. After clicking "yes" to proceed, the window silently disappears and nothing happens. I am also running Mobilinc HD on my iPhone, and it seems to working fine and can see current device status. In fact other than the fact that Admin Console can't see any device status, it almost appears as though things are now working normally about about 48 hours of "weirdness"
-
Restoring to an old backup did not help any... What's the next step, factory reset and restore?
-
I've got a backup from 2.8.16 which is quite old, but should have all my devices. I also have a backup from 3.1.7, though it's from yesterday and may not be from before the problems started. Will I have any issues restoring from 3.1.10 back to 2.8.16?
-
More information on this issue. ISY is showing no status information for any of my connected devices. I am able to turn devices on and off from the admin console, but ISY is not receiving any status update information. As well, the ISY links table and PLM links table are both empty in ISY. Restoring a device does nothing (silently fails). Is my ISY dead? What steps can I take to try and resolve this?
-
Just in the past few days I suddenly started to notice issues with my system. When I investigated things closely today, I noticed a few things weird. It appears that my admin password and settings got reset to factory default... not sure how or why. When I run the admin console, all the devices and programs are there, but the ISY isn't seeing any status information from any device, and it continually prompts me for a login username/password. I had been using 3.1.7 for a while with no problems. Tried updating to 3.1.10.. no help there. Not sure what to do next. Thanks.

I recently changes a few things on my home network including my internal DNS server and ever since ISY is not expanding host name to include the DHCP assigned domain. To recap, I use a DHCP server to assign a static address to the ISY99i, including all the extra parameters like domain, DNS server, WINS server, etc. Prior to switching my internal DNS/DHCP server, ISY was able to find internal hosts using just their host name, now it cannot, however every other statically assigned DHCP host on my network is doing fine under the new regime. So my question is, is there some way I can debug this easily? Is there a CLI I can log into to check host name lookup information, or is there a way I can see what ISY is using for host name lookups? Thanks.
