My last house (AZ, 2 stories, 2010's) had 2 nest thermostats and it would balance the air without the A/C if the temperatures differed a bit between them. That would be another way to lower electricity bills. I have Ecobee thermostat on main floor and 1 sensor in the basement. They can get up to 6 degrees apart. There are two air returns in the house, one on the main floor and the other in the basement. It would be nice to have this option to save energy by running the fan without the compressor and balance the temperatures.
