  1. Thank you KSchex. This is good to know. I will keep trying get the MIMOlite to work. The MIMO2+ isn't important to me. However, having a momentary contact closure device is very important in my line of work (setting up controls for individuals with severe physical limitations). Now that the INSTEON I/O Linc is basically out of the picture because of the PLM issue, I am looking for reliable Z-Wave alternatives.
  2. Is anyone else experiencing incompatibility using the ISY994iZw equipped with the 500 series Z-Wave board (firmware version 5.3.3 or 5.3.4) wtih the MIMOlite or MIMO 2+? A couple of years ago, I was able to successfully setup the MIMOlite with the 300 series Z-Wave board and firmware version 4.X.X. However, since updating the board and using the newer firmware, I’m no longer able to successfully setup either the MIMOlite or MIMO 2+. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
  3. I have ISY994iZw fw v 5.3.1, Z-Wave v 6.82.01. Have Aeotc Siren Gen 5. I am unable to "Include/Add a Z-wave device". I have tried to Exclude before Including. Have tried to Reset the device using user guide instructions. Each attempt to Include results in "The Z-Wave network failed to securely (S0) add your device, Please remove the device and try adding it again." Has anyone been successful Including this with the ISY994iZW? Also, if you were not successful with the GEN 5 device, have you tried the GEN 6 and experienced better results? If none of these of work, with what device have you experienced positive results (Other than INSTEON Siren 2868-222 which I haven't had any problems with but we have all experienced unreliable supply with INSTEON devices I'm sure such as the mini remote switch #2342-242 which is critical to my intended application )?
  4. I am new to this community. I am wondering if anyone can suggest products for this application. I am wanting to control an automatic door opener. The Relays I have been using are the INSTEON I/O Linc and WHDTS WiFi Momentary Inching & Self-Locking Relay. With either of these devices, I am able set people up with voice control using the cloud-based Amazon Alexa with a cloud integration smart home skill. However, I am trying to come up with a solution that will let individuals use “Local Voice Control (LVC)” (https://amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GCC6XV9DX58VW5YW&sa-no-redirect=1). The objective is to enable voice control of the door opener(s) in the event they have unreliable Internet service and are needing to exit the home in the event of an emergency. The LVC capability is built-in a select number of Amazon smart speakers (Echo Plus and 2nd gen Echo Show) and they use a built-in Zigbee controller for interfacing with Zigbee nodes. I am looking for a Relay Control that can link with the built-in Zigbee controller. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.
  5. I have been using the Harmony Hub (recommend either the Elite or Pro) for about 2 years and I am very pleased. Works great for changing channels, volume control, play | pause | resume | rewind and fast-forward. Will also do input switching if using multiple inputs. There is a little bit of a learning curve involved but certainly doable. If you are going to have more than one Harmony Hub, you will need to link your second hub to another Amazon account for Alexa integration/linking.
  6. I experienced the same thing yesterday morning (between the times of 7:15 and 9:15 a.m. MST). I think even my Logitech Harmony Skill was behaving oddly. I didn't have time to investigate before having to leave for some appointments. I received calls and messages from 2 of my customers experiencing the same thing I was experiencing (with lights, I/O lincs, etc.) "There are multiple devices with that name. Which one did you want?". By the time I returned home last evening, everything was working perfectly. I suspect there something errant was happening on the Amazon side of things. Did any one see something to the effect in the news?
  7. A few weeks ago, UDI support suggested I do the following and so far it has fixed all the problems I was having. I’m not sure if it will correct your issue but it might be worth a try. Go into your web version of the alexa app (https://alexa.amazon.com) and look at your list of devices. Look to see if any are marked as “offline” (this means it was not present on the last discovery). You can either manually forget each of these individually or Forget all and then re-discover. Since doing this a mouth ago, I haven’t had the issues I was having before.
  8. Just this past week, I was experiencing a new development where Alexa commands stopped working for Scenes incorporating KPL's and FL's. The support I received from UDI was nothing short of exceptional. The suggested remedy was for me to go in the Alexa app (web version), Forget all devices, and re-discover. This worked great and took me no more than just a couple of minutes. All these commands are now working as expected. Thank you Michel and Benoit.
  9. NOTE: Upon experiencing this problem yesterday after setting up a new KPL and FL Scene configuration as described in the link below, I performed the Disabling of the Portal Skill and then re-enabling. This didn't change anything as to what I am experiencing and explained below. I am beginning to believe changes are occurring on Amazon's Alexa end of things. Back in May I started setting up my KPL and FL as described in Wiki (https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY994i:INSTEON_Device:FanLinc-KPL_FanLinc_KeypadLinc_Configuration). I did this so the back light on the KPL would change accordingly even when using Alexa to change the mode of the FL motor. This makes for a situation where each KPL button press or each Alexa command changes the button back light and gives an accurate visual representation of the fan motor and fan light status. When I began setting up the configuration back in May, I added spoken form of the Alexa commands for each Scene in the Portal as Dining Room Fan Off, Low, Medium and High. After I set this up initially, when using Alexa I would say; "Turn On Dining Room Fan Medium" and it would work without fail. Now if I issue the command as above, I will get from Alexa; "The skill linked with Dining Room Fan is not enabled. Please enable the skill to control this device." What I have to say now in order for this to work is; "Turn Dining Room Fan Medium On". A bit awkward but it works and she responds with "OK".
  10. I'm NOT On 5.0.13 (I am at 4.6.2 and so are all my installations). I am relieved to find out others are having similar issues. In my own environment and at one of my customer's I have experienced these issues recently (in the last 2-3 weeks). At my site and one of my customers...Some Programs just stopped working such as "turn on Front Door Lock". Alexa would respond with "OK" but nothing happened at the Z-wave lock. I entered an additional spoken form: "My Front Door Lock" and then "Turn on My Front Door Lock" worked. Commands used for controlling Scenes consisting of KPL and FL, which had worked very well a month ago are now returning Alexa response, "the skill for that device is not enabled, please enable the skill and try again later"
  11. I completely agree.
  12. Hi Barry. As part of my work, I install automated door operators and have them controlled with the ISY, Alexa, Insteon or Z-wave contact closure endpoints (I/O linc or MIMOlite respectively). I use OpenSesame openers for French and single hinged doors and AutoSlide for patio doors (also works with Pocket Doors). I believe the Gentlemen Door products are similar in that a momentary contact closure will activate the operator(s). I have found "Activate" {Front Door} works as an invocation phrase with these endpoints. I hope I understood your post correctly and I hope this may help.
  13. Stu, thank you so much for taking the time and providing this helpful. I see there is an option in the ISY Portal to add "Sub-Accounts" to our [Main Account]. Sub-Accounts in the ISY Portal is what you are referring to when you say you "have four portal accounts (one portal)"?
  14. I would like to test in my own environment the Harmony Hub(s). There is a little bit of a caveat on Logitech's side when using more than one Echo device with more than one HH. This is what their Customer Service department recommended: “Harmony Hub 1 is used by creating an account at MyHarmony under kevin@adaptingtechnologies.com. User decides to use it in the Living Room. For the Echo Device 1 in the LR, he sets it up with an Amazon account under kevin@adaptingtechnologies.com. Harmony Hub 2 is used by creating an account at MyHarmony under kevin@adaptingtechnologies.com. User decides to use it in the Bedroom. For the Echo Device 2 in the BR, he sets it up with an Amazon account under kevin123@adaptingtechnologies.com. To summarize it, you can program the two Harmony Hubs using one MyHarmony account, while you need to set-up the two Echo Dots using two different Amazon accounts.” Currently, I have 2 Echo’s and 2 Harmony Hub's (each pair of devices in different rooms with different AV equipment). So I am looking at possibly setting these up as follows: Harmony Hub 1 using MyHarmony account under Kevin@adaptingtechnologies.com linked to Amazon account with the same name (Echo device #1) Harmony Hub 2 using MyHarmony account under Kevin@adaptingtechnologies.com linked to Amazon account Kevin123@adaptingtechnologies.com (Echo device #2) By doing this, I'm assuming I will have to deregister one of the Echo’s from its existing Amazon Account and Register it to a different Amazon account (Kevin123@adaptingtechnologies.com). I'm thinking this will then affect my Smart Home Skill (ISY Optimized Smart Home V2) which is currently being used by both Echo’s through the ISY Portal where the Profile is linked using email address Kevin@adaptingtechnologies.com and Amazon account linked to: Kevin@adaptingtechnologies.com (name of my Amazon Account as well). Has anyone with once ISY and Portal tried this with two Echo’s and two Harmony Hubs?
