Is there no replace function for 8 button keypads? If I right click on regular switches there's a "replace device with" option. Not seeing it that on keypads. Is the only only option to reprogram the?

Thanks. I might look into that.

Let me clarify. Scenes controlled by HomeSeer have the same issue. What I meant was if I turn on the lights individually true HomeSeer or the admin console(both ultimately the same thing I believe) they always turn on/off. When triggered true a scene they failed to turn on/off sometimes. Regardless of if it was triggered true ISY or HomeSeer.
-
HomeSeer has 2 plugins. The first is Insteon plugin. That one I believe connects to a PLM and controls the lights directly. I don't use that one. I use the ISY plugin. It connects to the ISY true the network. I believe how it works is the same as triggering a light or scene from the admin console. So I don't use HomeSeer groups. Mostly trigger ISY scenes, some individual switches.

Learned a lot in the past few days. Probably need lo learn more lol. I still want to do some more testing and will definitely be looking at adding more dual band devices. For right now for sort of a band aid I may disable that scene from the ISY and create a scene in HomeSeer to turn on each light individually(there's only 3). It seems when I turn on/off those lights from HomeSeer they work 100% of the time. Tanks to everyone for the help.

OK so outdoor light scene just triggered. And one light didn't come one. This is programmed in the ISY as shown on picture. Is this stored in kepads as well or triggered from ISY every time. Is it sending signal to turn on key pad E or just turns on the scene and because button "E" is part of the scene it also turns on. Also the status on admin console for that light is showing as on. I assume ISY turned on the scene and changed status of all switches but one never got the message to turn on? Were is the miss communication, from keypad to switch or PLM to switch. Or do I have this all wrong?
-
Maybe I should have mentioned HomeSeer but HomeSeer just sends command true ISY just as if I would open the admin console and launch it from there. Whether I launch from HomeSeer, ISY or directly from the 8 button keypad I have the same issue. So don't think it has anything to do with HomeSeer

I triggered the all off scene from HomeSeer which sends off command to keypad H on a 8 button keypad. Presumably this is like triggering the scene directly from the ISY as HomeSeer connects directly to ISY. Firmware version 5.3.0. And yest link type are all Insteon.
-
The all off is associated with the 8th button on an 8 button keypad which I believe is by default set for all on/off function.

Tried this last night. Kept turning light on and off from the admin console and it responded every time. max hop and hop left were both 3. After 10 minutes gave up and just left it. When I triggered the all off before going to bed that one light didn't turn off. Strange thing is that in the admin console the status was off. I queried the devices and it updated the status to on. Sent command to turn off from admin console and it did. More testing to do.

Mostly older devices. A few newer devices. Do newer devices communicate better? Maybe I should start upgrading. Starting with the 2 that are giving problems.

One of the 2443 doesn't even do anything. I tried doing a factory reset and get no led light blinking or any beeps. The second one beeped when I did factory reset and seems to reset ok. But since then every time I plug it in it starts buzing real loud a few minutes after. So I unplug it and is sitting on the counter. Have no issues with any other devices in the house. Those switches are connected to LED's and have been for years. Not had issues before. And they haven't been replace recently with new LED. Install LED few years ago and it's still the same ones.
-
I do have some LED bulb in the house. Will keep an eye out to see if these are on/off when there's an issue. Or may replace them temporarily to test. I may also try moving ISY/PLM to different location. There both in the basement at the moment. I assume if I can install on the main floor that would help? My start having issues with basement light after though.
-
About a month ago I got a new ISY. Mine was like 15 years old and obsolete. I didn't notice any issues at the time. Besides that I have not added any electronics or LED's. Had the issue with one of those switches a while back, probably like 6+ months ago and it went away. Suddenly came back.
-
So is there a way to improve communication? Are there any sort of repeaters I can add?
-
Yeah your right. It turns on the scene, not the button. Does this means the ISY sends out a command to each individual switch. If not would turning on each switch instead of the scene make it more reliable?

Via a program in ISY that send on to the keypad. The keypad is a controller for the other 3 switches. Maybe I should change the program to turn on each switch individually? I believe the bulbs are LED, but not 100% sure.

The 2 devices are 2476DH switchlinc and 2476D switchlinc. 45 minutes before sunset ISY sends power on to a button on 8 button keypad 2486D keypadlinc. When that button is turned on it turns on the switches mentioned above along with another switch 2476ST switchlinc. When this event is triggered the first 2 mentioned don't always turn on. One of them turn on most of the time the other doesn't turn on most of the time. Ironical the third one that turns on every time is the one the furthest away. Actually in a different building(detached garage)

Recently I have 2 switches that don't always turn on/off when scenes are triggered. When ISY and insteon switches were first installed in the house it was done by a local vendor. At the time they installed 2-access point #2443. I believe these were there to help communication. Reading up on them they appear to only have a 2 year lifespan. Well these were installed 10 plus years ago. I assume they have been dead for a while but only recently started having issues. These appear to no longer be available. What can I add or do to help the communication between devices in my home?
-
I have approximately 30 devices. Some are dual band some are single. One of the devices is making a low hum noise. And I believe both these are the original switches installed when I first built the house about 12 years ago so maybe they are just defective. I ended up replacing them both with spares I had at home. I may try them again in another location were I currently have regular switches when I have a bit more time. Haven't tested everything yet but it seems that everything is back to how it was before. Except one more device. I have an I/O link that has the green icon beside it. Tried restore and write to device. This is the devices that started me down the upgrade ISY path. On the old system it suddenly stop responding and had the red "!" beside it. Asked here in the forum and was told my system was to old so that's why I upgraded. Tonight I will try to delete and re install it but since it didn't work with the other 2 I'm not very hopeful. I'll report back what happens with this one.
-
I did ask support. They replied back with a link to the wiki.
-
I removed both devices from ISY and did a factory reset on them. When I try to add them back I get this. Bad switches?
-
I get the system busy and progress bar. Then it goes away and still red "!". The one that had the green icon last night went to red "!". It still came on this morning during a scene trigger, but didn't turn off when scene was shut off.

With the old PLM it now shows as connected. There's 299 link's in the PLM.
