  1. Thanks for the tip. I have an IRLinc TX sitting on the shelf. It is not very new. I have not had the chance to set it up yet. My problems are with the IRLinc Receiver. It acts like it is not seeing the commands from my remote. I haven't looked into it enough to know anything more than that. I'll start a new thread if I need assisitance with it in the near future. I've hijacked this thread enough. Thanks for your help.
  2. Well, almost everything is back to normal. My IRLinc RX is not working. None of my IR commands are having any effect. Is there somthing special to do to relinc the IRLinc? I tried writing updates. That completes fine but had no effect. Using the theater without being able to control the light is no fun at all.
  3. I happened to have another PLM on hand. I plugged it in and did a Restore Modem and now all the errors are gone. The new PLM is v7A. Thanks guys for your suggestions.
  4. The writing of links was going fine, when suddenly everything started failing. Hese is part of the log: A Event Viewer Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:38 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][08.54.9A-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:38 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 08.54.9A 0F 2B AA 06 PEEK (AA) Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:38 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 08.54.9A 05.E8.50 2B 2B 00 PEEK (00) Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:38 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][08.54.9A-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:38 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 08.54.9A 0F 29 05 06 POKE (05) Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:38 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 08.54.9A 05.E8.50 2B 29 05 POKE (05) Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:38 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][08.54.9A-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:38 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 08.54.9A 0F 2B AB 06 PEEK (AB) Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:47 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 08.54.9A 0F 28 0F 06 SET-MSB(0F) Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:59 PM : [8 54 9A 1 ] Link 10 : 0FA8 [A23305E850FF1901] *Failed Writing [A23305E850FF1901] Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:59 PM : [8 5A 4B 1 ] Using engine version i1 for 'Kitchen Under Cabinet' Thu 05/20/2010 11:32:59 PM : [8 5A 4B 1 ] Link 0 : 0FF8 [A20005E850FF1F00] Writing [A20005E850FF1F00] Thu 05/20/2010 11:33:21 PM : [8 5A 4B 1 ] Link 0 : 0FF8 [A20005E850FF1F00] *Failed Writing [A20005E850FF1F00] Thu 05/20/2010 11:33:21 PM : [8 6B 4C 1 ] Using engine version i1 for 'Washer/Dryer Light Switch' Thu 05/20/2010 11:33:21 PM : [8 6B 4C 1 ] Link 0 : 0FF8 [A20005E850FF1F00] Writing [A20005E850FF1F00] Thu 05/20/2010 11:33:42 PM : [8 6B 4C 1 ] Link 0 : 0FF8 [A20005E850FF1F00] *Failed Writing [A20005E850FF1F00] Thu 05/20/2010 11:33:42 PM : [9 98 27 1 ] Using engine version i1 for 'Blue Room KP On/Off' Thu 05/20/2010 11:33:42 PM : [9 98 27 1 ] Link 26 : 0F28 [E20405E850000004] Writing [E20405E850000004] Thu 05/20/2010 11:34:03 PM : [9 98 27 1 ] Link 26 : 0F28 [E20405E850000004] *Failed Writing [E20405E850000004] Thu 05/20/2010 11:34:03 PM : [9 AF 6C 1 ] Using engine version i1 for 'Patio Lights' Thu 05/20/2010 11:34:03 PM : [9 AF 6C 1 ] Link 0 : 0FF8 [A20005E850FF1F00] Writing [A20005E850FF1F00] Thu 05/20/2010 11:34:24 PM : [9 AF 6C 1 ] Link 0 : 0FF8 [A20005E850FF1F00] *Failed Writing [A20005E850FF1F00] Thu 05/20/2010 11:34:24 PM : [A D7 6C 1 ] Using engine version i1 for 'Kitchen Keypad On/Off' Thu 05/20/2010 11:34:24 PM : [A D7 6C 1 ] Link 4 : 0FD8 [A21905E850FF1F06] Writing [A21905E850FF1F06] Thu 05/20/2010 11:34:45 PM : [A D7 6C 1 ] Link 4 : 0FD8 [A21905E850FF1F06] *Failed Writing [A21905E850FF1F06]

  6. I am having the same issue. I upgraded my ISY-26 and now none of my events work. It is like the PLM is not linked to anything. I tried restoring the PLM. It starts the restore, runs for a while, and then starts failing after that most of my devices have red ! next to them. Some have the green 1011 next to them. I have a new ISY99 that I just got so I reset my PLM, loaded my last good backup from the ISY26 and it is still acting the same way. I can control many devices even if they have a red ! next to the name. It is acting like the PLM can send commands but cannot hear from all of the devices. I just asked for the PLM Info/Ststus but it started writing links again. I see the green Writing next to the decives as they are written to. It is taking a long time to move from one device to the next and the event log shows it is working. Everything was working fine before the upgrade.
  7. I have implemented many of the same solutions as the others have posted, fans and lights turning themselves off. Here is something I did not see yet. I installed a water recirculator to get hot water to my kitchen. It is really nice not having to run the water for 3 minutes every time I want hot water. The pump shuts itself off when the hot water gets to the sink, which is supposed to save me money. With the ISY I made this even better. I only allow the pump to run when a light is on in the kitchen or the master bathroom. When we get up in the morning by the time we get to the kitchen the water is already warm at the sink. At night when we come home and turn on the kitchen lights the water warms right up. For me, the most important thing is that the pump does not run at all when we are out late or go on vacation. The ISY "Knows" when we are sleeping, and it knows when we're away. The same functionality is going to be implemented with my bathroom underfloor heating and A/C. As soon as Michel releases the DSC (alarm system) to ISY link my ISY will know when we are away from home. It will automatically know to keep things turned off. My ISY-26 uses so little energy. I'm sure I'm easily saving more then it uses. Which is a plus, as I would use it even if it did not save me energy. Scott
  8. Brignolo, ask this question over on the Dan's Data site. http://www.dansdata.com/index.html He talks about this kind of stuff all the time. Scott

    why WAIT?

    Frank, I am also using waits with an X10 device to repeat the command several times. It seems to work well for me. I also have a KPL where I also am trying to clean up the button lights. Sometimes it works and sometimes I see a flashing button after a few seconds. I'll have to look at your examples more to see if I can get mine to work better. Thanks for your help. Scott

    why WAIT?

    Yardman, can you post some details about your need to wait. I am trying to get a keypad to work and it blinks a lot. I thought it was having a problem communicating but it may be that I need to add a wait to my programming. Scott
