Hmm, not sure I follow. What I want is to activate a program for a specified date range that say I will be out of town. If Date from is 07/01/2023 through 07/05/2023 then run Living Room program which has on/off times based upon specific times. I assume from 07/01/2023 12:00:01 AM to 07/06/2023 12:00:01 AM then... would do the trick?

Man oh man I feel like a dummy - guess I need new glasses. This makes it so much easier!

Thanks so much for the help!

Hi all, I apologize for not asking the question in a clear manner, but here goes... I have found the following program here but cannot for the life of me figure out how to add it to the ISY. I assume that it has to be manually written int TextEdit and then imported? I tried that but it doesn't show up in the ISY. If From 1:00:00AM on 2013/11/15 To 1:00:00AM on 2014/01/01 Then Else Thanks for any help... Ed

Hi all, Given the current situation of Insteon, I am considering switching from Insteon with my ISY. The question is to what would be the best to switch to that would be compatible with the ISY. Open to suggestions and recommendations. Thanks, Ed

Thanks for the reply. So does the below look correct? I would then go and change the value in the variable if I want the folder programs to run? In other words, when I go away, I would go into the Away variable and change the value to 0 and leave the IF test on the folder to If Away = 1 then ...

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Lots of good ones that shows that I need to learn about variables. Ed

Thanks for the info, this looks like this should do the trick. I tried it by creating a variable but am confused to what to enter under the INIT and Value columns. I assume that the Value would be what it tests. Thanks again, Ed

Hi all, I have a batch of programs that is used when I go on vacation. Each device has multiple on/off programs. In totality I have about twenty programs that I enable or disable dependent upon if I am away on vacation or not. Currently I go to each program and enable it or disable it, but I was wondering if there is a way to enable or disable them in one step. Not sure if it is possible, but figured I'd ask. Thanks in advance, Ed

I found it. I went ahead and turned on 2FA for additional security and generated an app specific password. Thanks for all of the help.
-
Thanks. What is 2FA and where would I check to see if it is enabled?
-
Uhh, o.k. Where would one find that setting?
-
Hmm. I changed that and get password not accepted with the Use TLS option checked. If unchecked, I get the 'Unsupported authentication method'
-
Yes sir - I actually copied and pasted it when I entered it in Gmail.com just to make sure. Ed

Hi all, I am having difficulties configuring my ISY to send text for notifications. I am able to send a text via my email client (Mail on Mac OS X) using my Gmail account but when I use the same settings in ISY I receive a "Password not Accepted" message. I verified that the password entered in ISY is correct. If I uncheck the 'Use TLS' I then receive "Unsupported authentication method". Here are my settings: SMPT Server: smtp.gmail.com UserId: my email address@gmail.com From: Ed Yost: myemailaddress@gmail.com SMTP Port: 587 Password: verified Timeout 1,000 Any thoughts? Thanks, Ed

Box 1 has a red, black, and white together and Box 2 has black and white.
-
No, I only used in the box that did not have the line that tested hot.
-
Stu, I checked the outlets. In the box that where the line tested hot I have a gang of white wires nutted together, a red wire, and an additional black wire. Box 1 Black Wire - tests hot Black Wire Red Wire Three white wires nutted together Box 2 For the other box I have a two black, red, and a gang of white wires nutted together. None tests hot. My understanding is for Box 1, the line wire from the switch should be connected to both of the black wires and the switch white wire connected to the gang of white wires and the switch's red wire should be capped off. Then for box 2, the switch's red wire should be connected to the black wire and the switch's black wire should be connected to the other black wire with the switch's white wire connected to the gang of neutrals. When I started this way back I removed both switches and tested the wires in both boxes to see which one tested hot. That wire was in box 1; the other box had no wires that tested hot. I hope I explained this well. Ed

Thanks all for the information. It's odd as it was working previously but I had to replace one of the switches because the paddle stopped working. I replaced it exactly as before and was able to cross link it but now when I manually cross link it the lights flash when I turn it on from the remote switch. I am going to pull the switches and get a layout of the wiring.
-
Hi all, I am having problems with successfully cross linking two smartlinc switches. The two switches are in the kitchen and replaced an existing three way circuit. I added the two switches to the ISY by using the Link Management/Start Linking function. Both show up in the ISY and the one that is connected to the hot and light will turn on and off the light. The other switch will not which makes sense as it has not been cross linked yet. I then created a scene and added both devices as controllers to the scene but the only that will control the light is the one connected to the hot/light. In addition, when I try to turn the scene on or off from the ISY nothing happens. If, however I only have the switch added to the scene that is connected to the hot and light I can turn the light on and off through the scene. What am I missing here? Thanks for any help. Ed

Can you expand a bit on this? If it was set up like this with a static ip address or port forwarding, would this mean that you could use the admin console to connect directly to the isy? Thanks, Ed

Thanks, it's starting to become more clear now. So I assume any RF device; e.g. switch, appliancelinc, etc. would help?
-
Lee, Thanks for the information. Looks like my ISY is communicating with that PLM so I assume as long as the Leak Sensor can transmit to it all will work? Thanks again. Ed
-
Lee, I am using an ISY 994i. I'm confused as the leak sensors don't plug into a wall outlet so I wonder how it gets it's signal. I would think it would need an RF bridge? Thanks, Ed

Hi all, I am looking to purchase several leak sensors but am wondering what is necessary to link these to the ISY. Thanks for any information. Ed
