  1. IndyMike In your Then statement, why do you have Run "KitchenTimerProgram" (Else Path)? Wouldn't the ISY just execute the Then statement to completion, and stop? Just curious.
  2. updatemike, I couldn't get that to work at first. I had to delete everything and start all over. I managed to consolidate the two scenes to crosslink the switches into one. I deleted the two original and then added a new one and made both devices as controllers. Thanks for the clarification. It seems to me that in the future it would be better to just use the ISY to do everything and eliminate the manual setup. Of course when I didn't have the ISY up and running when I put the switches in. Thanks, Steve
  3. I am just starting my Insteon setup and my ISY programming. I ordered 2 - 2466sw togglelincs, on one order, and then 2 more on another order. These are being installed as virtual 3 way switches. I had these switches linked and crosslinked to their respective virtual 3 way switch. To be more clear, the two switches in the laundry room are linked and crosslinked to each other. The same was done for the two switches in the kitchen. The laundry room switches were installed a week before the kitchen switches. When the kitchen switches were installed, all 4 switches would work together. I have since found it's a good idea to factory reset the switches while installing them. I tried to factory reset the first one, and it toasted on me. The light was off, and it made a sizzle sound. Smarthome is sending me a new one. So I swapped the virtual 3 way from the laundry room to the kitchen to replace the load connected switch that had failed. And of course there would be links between them. So I did another factory rest. Once I got the ISY up and running, I must say the documentation wasn't that clear on how to get it to search the network for devices, it found my switches. And the links were still there. I had some programs that wouldn't run correctly, so I decided to completely start over. This is where my problem is. In the ISY, how do you create a virtual 3 way switch? I see how you can link a master switch to a slave switch in a scene, but I don't see how to crosslink them. I wound up blowing the switches out of the ISY again, and linking them locally, then letting the ISY find the links. Thanks for any suggestions. Steve
  4. Rand, Thanks for the info. I guess it seemed weird to me. I work in commercial HVAC automation for a living, and when I see a link like that, I assume it is taking you someplace where there is a device. When I saw a page that looked like the stuff in the ISY literature, I "assumed" it was a ISY somewhere that was not functioning properly. I guess to me, it seems weird that you would have to go to the Universal Devices site to view your own ISY. Why wouldn't you just log into it locally? Maybe this is weird to me because I do it for a living, and I am guessing they are doing some of this to make it more user friendly for the average Joe. Waiting for my Insteon started kit to get here. Once I start swapping out some X-10 stuff, I am sure more Insteon will follow. Waiting to see what the ISY-99 is like before I purchase a controller. I also see Smarthome is revamping their stuff. I had some conversations with them over the last year or so and they were supposed to have a Insteon replacement for the 1132cu, which for all reality would be something like the ISY-26. I think I'll wait until the ISY-99 is out, and maybe the new Smarthome stuff is out before I go that route. I hope it happens quickly though. I was just out figuring how I was going to swap out my pool pump timer and go Insteon. I think a inlinelinc controlling a 110volt coil contactor is going to be my cheapest route. Thanks for the info all. Steve
  5. Mark, Thanks for the reply. That is what I am trying to explain, I don't have an ISY. And I empty my browser cache every time my browser closes, so that can't be an issue for me.
  6. I see on the Wiki they have a link to the My Insteon ISY http://www.universal-devices.com/MyInsteonISY/ This is what I was referring to on a previous posting. What is this for? To me it appears that it should be a demo site, but that is not the case. If I use it, and try to close the ISY interface with the Exit command from the menu, it hoses up Firefox every time. Wasssuuuppp with that? Thanks for any insight. Steve
  7. I have been looking over the ISY-26 and tried to view the demo page from universal-devices.com. I noticed in the setup for the ISY-26 that the browser they mention is Internet Explorer 7. Are no other browsers supported? My primary browser is Firefox, and I use Internet Explorer 6 for support of an older product. (It is just about done in the changes needed to use 7 without problems.) Is this the reason I can not look at the demo site?
