@wintermute How are you using it now that it has been updated? Are you still a big believer in Roomie? I used to have lighting and cameras as url functions, but I no longer have them since update to 6.x. For our house, Roomie has just been a reliable remote. I ultimately want our tablets/wall-panel to function seamlessly with the various systems (ELK, ISY, Lorex cameras, RING doorbell, A/V system, thermostats...). Now that our house is on market, it is glaringly clear that I don't have a nice looking app or anything easy for the agent to use. I'm trying to figure out OpenHab right now as possible solution.

I responded a few days ago, but apparently did not send... I did perform the z-wave heal, but it didn't help. I moved ISY back to original location, and all thermostats almost instantly showed status. That problem resolved. KPL issues continue. It turns out, we still have 8. 3 make a clicking sound and will do nothing. 3 seem to be working perfectly. 1 only turns on its own light, but other buttons do not perform their function. 1 performs functions for all buttons, but lights do not appear indicating they are on...

I have several issues that I think are related. No longer able to communicate with thermostats (z-wave) I was able to communicate with a few this morning, but not all, and now, none. ISY is located approximately 10 feet from one thermostat. No Keypads work for any purpose other than primary switch - programming and secondary functions no longer work. I have been having keypad issues for long time, but removed all but 5. 4 of the 5 remaining in system had been working fine prior. Three incidents that could have impacted things (that I know of): I moved the ISY to a different part of house. I changed the IP address of ISY 6-8 weeks ago Power outage occurred a few times in last couple of weeks We have automated whole-house generator, but during the last outage, the generator did not start, so we went several hours without power. Typically after a power outage, I have to manually reset the keypads by pulling tab out for 10 seconds. This has not helped this time. I would be grateful for any thoughts on what to do.

Leak Sensors - Another (Suggested) Complete Program Package
deirwin replied to rabbit1543's topic in ISY994
Thanks to everyone that created and fine-tuned this! I also added a program to verbally announce the leak through my ELK M1G system. Works perfectly as far as I can see and tested. I assume announcements could be announced through Alexa, Sonos, or Audio System also. -
Hi Teken, it would be great to know what you think today of the Water Hero system and if this is a route you would go, or if you would use ELK/ISY approach, or other solution for water detection / auto-shutoff?

Why do i get “Sorry, I couldn’t find a device or group named xx in account” when the item is programmed exactly as understood?

I love the integration, but I'm having several issues/questions. I get a response of “Sorry, I couldn’t find a device or group named xx in account”. Even if she says the device back to me exactly as programmed. "Kitchen Sink" for example. “I’ve found several devices matching that name. Which one did you mean?" I have changed names to some items to overcome, but I am also wondering if scenes impact this? Some scenes seem to work, "Backyard lights" for example, but some do not, "Main Floor" for example, even though I added it through "Add" "Scene" and she says it back to me exactly as programmed. Maybe scenes have to be programmed into a KPL button to work? Is there a syncing process I should go through after I rename Spoken or Alternate Spokens? Thanks! Dean

Thanks Jon, I had two errors: 1) I was trying to do this through Admin Console, rather than the portal URL; 2) ISY needed to reboot to get back online. Now I hope to be able to figure out how to make functional ISY Recipe through IFTTT.

I can't find the set-up section, specifically Select Tool or Connectivity. I imagine its something simple, but have been searching and can't find anything on this... On wiki it says, "On portal, IFTTT configuration is in Select Tool | Connectivity | IFTTT". But I don't see that. I see: Portal Integration UDI "Offline" "Registered" Action Services my username "Registered" a button for "revoke" and "more Info" Requested Services this section is blank/empty Thanks in advance! For me, it's not really budget driven. Really looking for genuine functionality, ease of use, and self-manageable - I don't want to have a tech come out to tune/update/fine-tune...

Like most of us on this forum, I want to integrate everything that can be automated in the house and use it easily. It's exciting now that Echo is smart enough to handle voice commands and that apps bring together all of the various systems (almost) seamlessly. I want my kids or older parents or babysitter to use system without a learning curve. So I ask, what app do you use to integrate your systems and how well do they work? I'm currently using eKeypad Pro away from home and Simple Control (formerly Roomie Remote) at home. System includes Sonos, ISY994, Insteon, Elk M1G, Trane Z-Wave and Wi-fi Thermostats (AC, baseboard heating, radiant floors), Lorex cameras/DVR, A/V equipment, Xbox, Wii, pool, temp sensors, global cache ethernet/IR adapter, (Echo not yet received.) It's not perfect for sure, but getting closer to seamless than ever. To me: EKeypad works well for straight forward remote access of ISY and ELK. But doesn't integrate everything or attempt to. And Lorex doesn't "play nice" with automation systems/apps. I am the only one in the house that has ever used this app. Simple Control has occasional hiccups, but mostly controls A/V equipment nicely. Easy for everyone to use. Also, because you can include URL's, it can open other apps within their app (at least it feels like it is within), so you can open Sonos or Lorex app... But I can't control the thermostats or see their status from within the remote, like it does with lighting. I can see/control a Nexia thermostat, but not ISY controlled thermostats. IR emitter has been more consistent than ethernet commands. I would recommend it because I'm sure they will overcome the hiccups and don't know of another strong app others are using, and everyone in house can easily control things - usually and the babysitter - kind of... Would really like to know what others are using and if they think it is best/good solution.

I have Simple Control (formerly Roomie Remote), ISY994, Insteon lighting controls, and Z-Wave thermostats. I have been unable to integrate the thermostats with SC. I see them as lighting nodes. I also had issues when first integrating, as it showed duplicates of most items in ISY, as if it was resyncing. There doesn't seem to be a simple way to add an item to a room, like a dimmer ro thermostat. Has anyone had any luck with this? Could you steer me toward direction or solution?

Is there a big issue with Insteon keypads. I have 6 installed in my house right now. 1 makes a clicking noise (and doesn't appear to communicate), one seems dead, another makes a beeping noise (and doesn't appear to communicate), and i have 3 more in a box that did the same. So, 6 out of 9 - seems like a very high percentage. Is anybody else having same experience or know a way to resolve the clicking or beeping? Hopefully it's just me, but maybe there's a bigger issue? FYI, we also have 6 defective dimmers/switches, but we have 70 or so that are working, so under 10%.

Yes, the lights work perfectly with Insteon dimmers simply by using the correct transformer as mentioned above. It was very easy. I recommend to anyone that wants to add something special to a room - they provide nice mood lighting and subtle night lighting - it really takes things to a new level! And by hiding them, they are completely unoffensive light, since they provide a glow. I only went with white, but it seems color would have been just as easy to tie in, but more programming to control color (at least from what i have read). There are a variety of whites though. They are so cheap that we bought a variety of whites and brightnesses to test out. Here is a link to a couple pix of both bathrooms (LED's behind mirrors, in niches and under a vanity). https://goo.gl/photos/aAuRF3w26SCu69of7 And yes, I was able to tie-in the radiant floor with the ISY994. I used Trane Zwave Thermostats by connecting an Aube Electric heating relay (RC840T-120) to each unit, hidden in the wall. Again, very easy and works perfectly. I really only use the thermostat to turn on for an hour or two at a time for the most part because these are bathrooms. The floor warms up very quickly and is very comfortable. It makes me wish we had radiant heating throughout the house. Next one for sure! Overall, I'm very pleased with being able to include the led strips and floor heating thermostats.

Thanks stusviews! I was trying it at around 5 feet, but was seeing errors in my Events viewer. So, I held the ISY right up to the thermostat and it worked! Now I will try to figure out how to include my XL824! :-}
