Will keep your suggestions in mind for the next time. Thanks again for your help!

Ok, well, I decided to run the java applet version and do an automatic instead of manual update and it worked!

Thanks for the replies. I checked and the file I'm using is the zipped version. (insteon_3.2.6.zip)

Hello everyone, I just tried to upgrade my isy99 from version 3.1.12 to version 3.2.6, but got the following error: Upgrade Failed: Failed uploading file (reported written size is invalid) When I close the above error dialog, it then shows: Socket Open Failed Java.io.IOException: Broken pipe System is Mac OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

As most of you that have followed my threads know, I'm having some problems with two lights. Since it appears that troubleshooting is not going to be quick or easy, I thought I'd at least get them working a different way. I've noticed that the lights respond more consistently when triggered outside of the scene, so my thought is to create a program that will check if the lights turned on when they were supposed to, and if not, to notify me and then turn them on individually. Below are the two programs that I came up with. Exterior Sunset If Time is Sunset Then Set Scene 'Exterior Lights Sunset' On Wait 1 minute Run Program 'Coach/Entrance Check if On' (If) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Coach/Entrance Check if On [disabled] If Status 'Outside House / Entrance Light' is Off Or Status 'Outside House / Coach Lights' is Off Then Send Notification to 'user' content 'frontlights' Set 'Outside House / Entrance Light' On Set 'Outside House / Coach Lights' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Is this the right way to achieve my goals, or are there better solutions? I really like the idea of the notification, so that I can keep track of how many times the lights fail to respond. - Julio

oberkc, the devices that usually fail are part of the scene in question. ELA said: This is correct and confuses me. It appears that the devices that the scene test is having trouble with are not the ones that are actually physically failing to respond. This also confuses me. Correct. I have at least 8 dual-band switchlincs throughout the house as well as 3 dual-band lamplincs. This I don't know. I haven't checked what devices are on this particular circuit. I do however have filterlincs installed on all my UPS devices in the house.

I disabled all programs before running the test.

Hi all, I have a scene that sometimes fails to turn on either my garage coach lights, or my entrance light. This scene is only triggered by the isy based on sunset time. Below are two scene tests. I was wondering if anyone can see something that could help me troubleshoot this problem: First Scene Test Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:20 PM : [GRP-RX ] 02 61 2C 13 00 06 Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:20 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 13.FE.7F 13.20.53 61 13 2C LTOFFRR(2C) Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:20 PM : [standard-Cleanup Ack][13.FE.7F-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:20 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 13.FE.7F 13.20.53 61 13 2C LTOFFRR(2C) Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:20 PM : [standard-Cleanup Ack][13.FE.7F-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:20 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 13.FE.7F 13.20.53 61 13 2C LTOFFRR(2C): Process Message: failed Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:20 PM : [standard-Cleanup Ack][13.FE.7F-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:21 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 13.FF.5A 13.20.53 61 13 2C LTOFFRR(2C) Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:21 PM : [standard-Cleanup Ack][13.FF.5A-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 Second Scene Test Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:22 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.30.54 13.20.53 61 13 2C LTOFFRR(2C) Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:22 PM : [standard-Cleanup Ack][16.30.54-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:22 PM : [CLEAN-UP-RPT] 02 58 06 Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:22 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.E2.E7 13.20.53 61 13 2C LTOFFRR(2C) Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:22 PM : [standard-Cleanup Ack][16.E2.E7-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:22 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.E2.E7 13.20.53 61 13 2C LTOFFRR(2C) Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:22 PM : [standard-Cleanup Ack][16.E2.E7-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:22 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.E2.E7 13.20.53 61 13 2C LTOFFRR(2C): Process Message: failed Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:22 PM : [standard-Cleanup Ack][16.E2.E7-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 ----- Exterior Lights Sunset Test Results ----- [succeeded] Terrace Keypad - 4 (16 E2 E7 4) [succeeded] Terrace Keypad - 5 (16 E2 E7 5) [succeeded] Rear Lamp Posts (16 30 54 1) [succeeded] Entrance Light (8 F5 2A 1) [succeeded] Front/Side Landscape (13 FE 7F 1) [succeeded] Rear Landscape (13 FF 5A 1) [succeeded] Side/Bar Landscape (14 1 48 1) [succeeded] Coach Lights (16 30 34 1) [succeeded] Terrace Keypad - 8 (16 E2 E7 ----- Exterior Lights Sunset Test Results ----- Mon 01/31/2011 08:05:28 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.2C CF 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00)

Lee, I'm running Java version 6 build 1.6.0_23-b05. Late last night I decided to remove the KPL from the Isy and manually reset it. I then added it back to the Isy and I was able to configure the state of the buttons without any of the error messages. This morning, since the KPL is finally working, I finished the scenes that include it. Now it appears I have communication issues. I have a feeling I'm going to have to start another thread soon regarding this. Thanks for your help troubleshooting. Your time and patience is very much appreaciated. -Julio

I just tried and in fact the buttons are in non-toggle On mode. I still get the "no network" error the first time I try to change it, and then "request failed" everytime after that, so something is definitely screwy in my system. Oh, and I did clear the Java cache, and I'm definitely running 2.8.10

Ok, tried the link, and unfortunately got the same result. First try at setting non-toggle on, I get a "no network" dialog. I exit, go back to try again, and the button shows a state of non-toggle off. I then select non-toggle again, and the "request failed" dialog pops up. The button then shows a status of toggle. I'm not aware of any other issues with this KPL. It triggers its scenes correctly, and responds to programs correctly. -Julio

Ok, I invoked the console from the UDI site. I selected the 8-keypad B button. Clicked on Toggle On/Off. Selected "On For Non-toggle On", and got a "No Network Connection" dialog. Closed the dialog. Clicked Toggle On/Off again, and the button shows as "Non-toggle [Off]". I repeated the process and got "Request failed". Between iterations, the button alternates states from non-toggle off to toggle. Never non-toggle on. I'm at a loss ... No clue anymore what to do.

Button B on KPL-8. Going from toggle to non-toggle-on.

So my adventure continues ... I'm trying to set toggle mode to non-toggle on on some buttons of a keypad 8 but so far haven't been able to. I always get a request failed. If I then go back to try and change it again, it shows the buttons as non-toggle off. This is the event viewer dump when I select non-toggle on Thu 01/20/2011 10:13:34 AM : [All ] Writing 1 bytes to devices Thu 01/20/2011 10:13:34 AM : [16 79 ED 1 ] Memory : Write dbAddr=0x0249 [82] Thu 01/20/2011 10:13:34 AM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.79.ED 1F 2E 00 01 08 82 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 06 (00) Thu 01/20/2011 10:13:35 AM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.79.ED 13.20.53 2B 2E 00 (00) Thu 01/20/2011 10:13:35 AM : [standard-Direct Ack][16.79.ED-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 BTW, I'm running v2.8.10 on the isy and this is a 2486D 8-button v.36 -Julio
