  1. Thanks! Those are the exact specs of the power adapter I was saving from an old Netgear router. I'm glad I did! The ISY994, and the ISY99 before it, have always been rock-solid devices from my experiences. Besides a power supply, PLM, or maybe an SD card, has anyone had one go bad? I wish I could say the same about INSTEON Switchlincs.
  2. Thank you very much [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hi, Last night the power supply on my ISY went out and I don't have another 5V adapter. I thought I remember reading on the forums that the voltage could be a range higher than 5V. I found a center positive 12V adapter from an old router and it is working, however, can there be any long-term damage to the ISY running at this voltage? Lastly, are the dimensions of the connector 2.5mm X 5.5mm? Thanks in advance!
  4. The issues are now solved. The part where neither personal assistant or MobiLinc was working must've been because of the ISY portal maintenance, but the rest was my fault. Even though Alexa said it did not discover any new devices, they were present in the Alexa app under devices, and that is where I noticed the problem. When I added the programs to the ISY portal under the Alexa category I made a typo which made the spoken form unrecognizable. Instead of "Z wave cable" I accidentally entered "Z wsve cable" Duh! Thanks for the replies.
  5. It's 12:15PM EST and the ISY portal must still be under maintenance or, for some other reason, my ISY cannot connect to the Internet.. MobiLinc does not connect to the ISY, neither the Google or Alexa personal assistants will work with my devices, and although I have a green light on the ISY portal and it says it's online, when accessing Google or Alexa connectivity it says it is not online. I have also rebooted my ISY and router. I can login to the admin console and control devices and programs locally without a problem.
  6. yes. She doesn't find any new devices.
  7. Is anyone else having this problem? I made a couple simple programs to add to the ISY portal so I can control them with voice, something I have done many times in the past, but now, for some unknown reason, Alexa is not picking up on them. I've even tried adding an INSTEON device and had the same unsuccessful result. The Google personal assistant is working fine with the new programs and device. Any idea what the problem is and what I can do do about it? Now that I rethink the issue, I wonder if it's with the ISY portal???
  8. For what it's worth, I was having some problems using the ISY Finder not long ago. The IP address of my ISY is always either configured with a static IP, or DHCP with an IP reservation configured on my router to always retain the same IP address. I either had to manually enter the IP address into the ISY Finder, or it would find the ISY if I typed: "HTTP://ISY" but the start.jnlp app would not work properly and the title bar of the ISY Finder would still say ISY not found (or something to that effect). I could right mouse click on the IP address in the ISY Finder and launch the Admin Console, but I would receive errors when trying to do things like backup the ISY. Michel assured me it had to be firewall related, but I ruled out everything on my PC. Finally, I looked at my router's log file and noticed I had some rules written to the router's firmware by a Synology NAS that I could not change using my router's firmware. After performing a factory reset of my router the problem was solved! Long story short, don't overlook your router. Good luck! – Rob
  9. Thanks for the posts. The Google Assistant app worked perfectly for me. It took about 5 minutes to re-familiarize myself with the app and seconds to fix. Assistant menu -> Home Control -> Manage accounts (under the 3 dots in the upper right corner) -> UD Unlink & Link
  10. Michel, Thanks for the quick response. I am ashamed to admit this, but I didn't realize how easy it was to use the Find command to weed through your programs, AND, I was incorrect. Both units behave the same way. But with your help, I am happy to report that this issue is SOLVED. I didn't have any other program running at startup, however, what I do have is this program which must be running after the QueryAll. The sensor on the IOLinc is toggled on or off by a magnetic contact closure mounted at the base of my garage door. garage door notify by text on close 1 - [ID 005C][Parent 0067] If Status 'garage 39.48.23-Sensor' is Off Then Send Notification to 'Rob.sms' content 'Garage Door Closed' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') It's now time to send that email to transfer my modules over to the new ISY controller and start learning more about Z-wave! Thanks again. – Rob ,
  11. My ISY-994iZW/Pro arrived yesterday and I followed those instructions, however, I did so without taking the old ISY device off the network since I had a brand-new PLM so I could open the admin console of each and do a side-by-side comparison after the fact. I did this: 1. Backed up the old ISY-994 2. Changed the IP address of the older ISY-994 to an unused address 3. Rebooted the older ISY-994 4. Logged into the admin console to make sure the IP address had been changed 5. Connected the new ISY-994 to the network 6. Attached the new PLM to Port A and plugged it into the wall 7. Connected the included power supply to power it up 8. Launched the admin console of the new ISY-994 and logged in with the default username/password 9. Restored the new ISY with the backup of the old 10. Logged into the new ISY to make sure all my settings were correct and changed the "Query All" program to read: QueryAll - [ID 0002][Parent 0001][Run At Startup] If Time is 1:21:00AM Or Time is Last Run Time for 'QueryAll' + 12 hours Then Set Scene 'All Devices' Query Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') 11. Lastly, since it was a new PLM, ran the "Restore Modem" command Now everything appears to be functioning OK except for one weird thing. Every time the new ISY-994 reboots, upon startup I get 2 notifications that my garage door has been closed and two minutes later I get a notification that the ISY has been powered up. My "At ISY Boot-up" file looks like this: At ISY Boot-up - [ID 004B][Parent 0001][Run At Startup] If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Wait 2 minutes Send Notification to 'Rob.sms' content 'ISY Power-up Notification ' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') For the life of me, I cannot figure out why I am getting the first two text notifications stating that my garage door has been closed, both within one second of each other each time the unit is powered up. The older ISY-994 does not do this. It's a minor annoyance, but it has me puzzled. Edited to Add: I forgot to mention that when I go into Programs, Summary tab, the only programs that run at startup are: At ISY Bootup and QueryAll.
  12. Hi, Michel. I'm expecting delivery tomorrow and the migration looks pretty simple. The ISY-994 is an amazing piece of equipment. I appreciate UDI and the members of this forum very much. Thank you.
  13. I currently have an ISY-994i and am waiting for an ISY-994iZW/Pro to be delivered as an upgrade. I have backups from the ISY-994i, a spare PLM, and was wondering the easiest way to set up the new controller. I was thinking: 1. Take the old PLM and connect it to the new ISY. 2. Plug the PLM into the wall. 3. Power on the new ISY. 4. Login and restore from a backup. Is this the proper way to do it? The ISY-994i and spare PLM, I could use as a backup, and possibly upgrade it to Z-Wave later. Would I have to buy new modules for the new ISY or can they be transferred to the upgraded ISY? Thanks!
  14. Thank you Michel. I will do that the next time it occurs.
  15. Thank you Stu, I didn't think about rediscovering the devices. It happened again this morning before I saw your post. I will try that the next time it happens as it will be more convenient for me to do through my smartphone. However, I am still left wondering why it happens so I can prevent it from happening in the future. My wife loves technology when it works and looks at me, like it's my fault, when it doesn't.
