I have an 8 button KeypadLinc controlling 3 SwitchLincs in the kitchen. I set up a scene (KitchenScene) that contains 6 of the KPL buttons as controllers and the 3 switches as responders. In KitchenScene, I have different lighting levels set for each KPL button. This works as intended. I would like to replicate the effect of physically pushing one of the KPL buttons by using MobiLinc Pro (or from the ISY admin console), but have not found a way to do this. From MobilLinc, if I go into the KPL in "Devices" and activate one of the buttons, all of the lights come on (I believe it is executing the KitchenScene levels ). Do I need a different scene set up? Use programs to implement this?

Yes, that should read 2.8.16. There was a program running, but after stopping it the ISY was still behaving worse and worse. I reformatted the SD card, restored, re-configured all devices and everything seems fine now. I did notice one loss of communication message, that recovered on the next try. I may have to reposition one of the access points. Thanks for the help.

I am still having Insteon issues, running 2.8.6 firmware on ISY. I started a reconfigure devices option on the ISY99. It completed two of the devices (icon changed from green arrow to light bulb/other icons), but has not made any more progress after 30 minutes. If I look at the event log (below), the last few lines listed repeat over and over. I suspect one device is having trouble being configured. Can I reset this process? Do I delete the troublesome device? Any thoughts are appreciated. Sat 09/03/2011 05:19:28 PM : [standard Msg. Downgrading to 2.8.16 seems to have fixed everything. I can program scenes and the devices are programmed correctly. 3.1.x also had problems when I tried to rearrange devices and scenes in folders: the program could get in a state where it ignored the commands to move to another folder. I will have to save a stable 2.8.16 state before I try the 3 betas again.

Fiddling with the slider does seem to help, but I am still having some difficulty getting the scene to update. I was probably on the 2.x firmware when I first set up my system. I upgrade to 3. so I could start playing with variables. If I ditch any variable in programs, can I downgrade to the latest released firmware without issues?

ISY Firmware version 3.1.5 It shows the switches as 2476D SwitchLinc Dimmer w/beeper v.38 I am trying new levels around 20%.

I recently deleted my Insteon keypad from my ISY-99 and re-linked it. It linked and communicates fine, but I am having trouble re-creating the scenes. I drag several kepyad buttons and several light switches into an existing empty scene (which was emptied when I deleted the devices from ISY) as controllers. I select a button in the scene and attempt to set the levels and ramp rates of the switchlinc devices. If I adjust the ramp rates, the ISY immediately updates the devices and the change sticks. If I adjust the levels of the devices, the ISY does not write anything to the devices and when I return to this device in this scene, the levels are all back to 100%. Am I doing something wrong? Could this be caused by trying to re-use an old scene?

So this may have been corrupted configuration. I disconnected the PLM, putting ISY in safe mode, and deleted all the devices. I added them back and things seem to be working. The Switchlinc is even behaving now after another reset. Thanks for the help.

I don't think we lost power recently. A few days ago, I did notice that one of the remaining X10 devices was not responding to the timed commands reliably. Yesterday, the switchlinc started acting up. Why would the ISY progress bar message display " [ X10 ] I/6" Is there a way to export all the programs, so that I could import them after a factory refresh? I am trying to determine if this is a programming problem, corrupt config, bad switchlinc, bad PLM, bad ISY or some combination.

I have an ISY-99 with maybe 15 devices: various insteon swithlincs, a 8 button keypad, an outlet, and a dual band repeater. There are 3 X10 modules left controlled by an ISY program. I usually update ISY software to the latest beta, but I just backed down one update to 3.15 (if memory serves), once problems began. My symptoms: 1) An Insteon Switchlinc switch will not stay on. I manually turn it on and it turns back off within a second. I have air-gapped this switch and factory reset, and disconnected all controllers but it still does this. 2) While debugging this, I deleted and re-linked various Insteon switches on the ISY web interface, but the ISY will get stuck updating the devices. It will seem to complete the update cycle since the progress bar hits 100%, but it will then repeat the update process over and over. 3) The progress bar also shows the links being updated, and seems to get stuck on [ X10] I6/Off (11). I no longer have an X10 device at I6. It is interesting that the Insteon switch mentioned in 1), was formerly programmed as X10 I6 before I bought the ISY. 4) I used an old X10 controller to monitor the powerline, and did see I6 commands continually going out. I eventually stopped these by air gapping the 8 button Insteon keypad. I deleted and relinked the keypad, but I still occasionally see the X10 I6 messages on the ISY. Is there anyway to find all links to X10 address I6 is and delete them? Tonight, I will air-gap the keypad and see if the 1) switch will stay on. (they have never been linked, but the keypad did seem to be generating X10 I6 messages and the switch had been programmed to X10 I6). I am about ready to factory reset and start over, but I don't want to lose all my programs.
