  1. The Relay version of the KeypadLinc has been available in the dual band for some time now. Your sample program added the "repeat", but there is no trigger action to launch the "then" statement. How do I trigger it if the condition was in the past and the action was missed?
  2. Thanks for the response. I've done a lot of research and additions regarding the noise on that circuit. The only "plug-in" device on the breaker is a refrigerator which is plugged into a FilterLinc. I have a SignalLinc phase coupler at the breaker box. I installed a leviton inline filter inside the KeypadLinc junction box. I removed the CFL bulbs, and converted to a dualband KeypadLinc. There's nothing more I know of that I can do. I know the ISY is receiving a signal because the query status of the switch is correct and if I run the "then" statements of the follow LED program it corrects the LED, I just need a program to repeat so I can correct the missed signal. Insteon is never perfect regardless of dual band communications, there's a variable in my electrical environment that I've just learned to "deal with". Thanks for any programming advice.
  3. Hello . . . I’m not an expert at setting up if/then statements so I was hoping someone could help me with a concept. I have a dual band relay Keypadlink (6) that’s wired in-line with a noise filter running 6 canister incandescent bulbs. I have a Filterlinc at the panel, and for the most part my Insteon network is flawless aside from this one switch despite everything I’ve attempted– so I’ve just dealt with it. This Keypadlinc misses my follow LED programs about once every 10 switches, so I want to make an LED follow program that repeats every minute or so, that will catch the missed signal and correct the LED status. Keypadlink Buttons Kitchen On Room1 / Room2 Dining / Bathroom Kitchen Off LED Follow Programs (For Room1 / Room2 / Dining / Bathroom) Room1 Light Update LED On If Control 'The Boys / Room1' is switched On Or Control 'The Boys / Room1’ is switched Fast On Or Status 'The Boys / Room1’ is not Off Then Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Kitchen / Kitchen LED Scenes / Room1 Button LED' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Room1 Light Update LED Off If Control 'The Boys / Room1' is switched Off Or Control 'The Boys / Room1’ is switched Fast Off Or Status 'The Boys / Room1’ is not On Then Wait 1 second Set Scene 'Kitchen / Kitchen LED Scenes / Room1 Button LED' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Scene: Room1 Button LED Responder: Room1 Switch * Setup the same for Room2 / Dining / Bathroom Willing to change and test anything . . . Thanks for anyone’s assistance, your time is appreciated.

  5. I just received a EZIO2X4 from ebay (used). Tried to add the device to my isy-99i using the New Insteon Device setup setting the address and using the 07.03 Comacta EZIO 2x4: INSTEON I/O Controller (ISY-99i Firmware 3.2.6) and get no results when trying to find the device. I've set the EZIO2X4 back to manufactures defaults by unplugging for 10+ seconds and holding the set button for 10+ seconds after plugging in, the unit recycled. I tried adding to ISY again with no results. Is there a secret to getting the EZIO2X4 to add to an ISY-99i? I tried holding the set button in for 20+ seconds to put it in lync mode, but the LED never starts flashing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I know this question is more suited for SimpleHomeNet.com, but I’ve submitted for my forum ID and emailed the vendor directly with no luck getting an activated forum account or response from support directly. I know this forum is full of DYI home automation people so I’m seeing if anyone has more knowledge about wiring I/O. I successfully have my alarm panel (Vista 20P) with relay module sending a signal when disarmed to an I/O Linc (GND AND Sense (input)). The isy-99i then tells the relay 5V / COM to send an on then off to a connected Piezo, which produces a quick buzz when the alarm is disarmed. Found a forum online call “buzzlinc†which made this work great (Piezo connected to 5V and COM and a Jumper between GND and N/O). I need to migrate this wiring setup to an EZIO2X4 (SimpleHomeNet) as I need another input for a different project. The wiring terminals are completely different, and my lack of knowledge is preventing me from understanding where to put what wires to accomplish the above wiring using the old I/O Linc (attached diagram of current setup) Can anyone give some feedback? Thanks so much in advance! Recap - Covert this I/O Linc setup to a EZIO2X4 Alarm Panel Relay Module - Relay 1 (Set to close on Alarm Disarm) is connected to Ground and Sense on I/O Linc Piezo Setup Jumper across Ground and Normally Open Peizo connected to 5V and Common
  7. Thanks for the advice Paul, Using an Ademco 4204 Relay Module with an I/O Linc really worked well for me - thanks for the advice.
  8. Here's one I can't figure out . . . I want to use an I/O Linc with a ISY-99i to emulate a Keyswitch on a Ademco Vista 20P. I attempting hooking the Normally Closed and Common on the I/O Linc Output to Zone 8 (Programmed to type 77) it produces an alarm verses an arm or disarm. Any advice or experience trying this? http://www.smarthome.com/2450/IOLinc-INSTEON-Low-Voltage-Contact-Closure-Interface-1-In-1-Out-/p.aspx http://www.sveom.com/Keyswitch_Schematic.pdf Thanks!
  9. I'm a tad bit novice, does anyone have samples of how to make my concept work. It sounds like others have already accomplished much more then just activating scenes. Any ISY-99i programming examples using the Vista panel to send X10 or relay signals to activate scenes or arm/disarm the system. A sample would give me an ideal of where I need to start. Thanks for any help.
  10. I’m sure someone has already successfully accomplished this, but I’m not sure the best way to approach the task. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have a self installed Honeywell Vista 20P / ISY-99i / and 100% Insteon environment. I was thinking of adding a X10 transformer (1361X10) to the Vista Panel to send X10 signals to accomplish a few simple task. 1. When disarmed during late hours activate “welcome home†seen (Insteon). 2. When alarm goes off (siren) activate “panic†seen (Insteon). I’m not sure the best way to accomplish this since I have no experience with X10 devices, and am very novice on the Vista 20P panel. Can someone give me some pointers or alternative methods to accomplish this? I don’t have $800 to buy an ELK alarm panel. Thanks in advance . . .
  11. Turns out, the switch is faulty. Smarthome is sending out a replacement.
  12. That solution worked great! Thanks for the advise.
  13. I have a 2876DB Icon Dimmer Switch controlling a bathroom light (about two weeks now). It was being controlled by two different devices, a KeypadLinc Scene button and a few timer programs on an ISY-99i. Out of the blue, it quit communicating with the ISY-99i. I did the standard troubleshooting including rebooting controllers, modems, etc. Nothing prevailed despite the KeypadLinc continuing to control the switch. I got so frustrated I removed the switch from the ISY-99i and I set the Icon Dimmer Switch back to factory defaults. Now when I try to link the switch with the KeypadLinc it acts weird, and the ISY-99i doesn’t find it when adding a new Insteon device. I put the Icon Dimmer Switch in linking mode (up on paddle for 10 seconds), switch beeps, load flashes, led flashes. I push the scene key on the KeypadLinc for 3 seconds, load flashes, Icon Dimmer switch in bathroom beeps LONG, led continues flashing. I press either the Icon Dimmer Switch or the KeypadLinc Scene button to pull it out of programming mode, and nothing happens. Is the switch broke or am I doing something wrong. How do I get it to linc to the KeypadLinc Scene button and get it to communicate with the ISY-99i again. It’s the only switch having problems. FYI: I haven’t had any communication errors with any other switches, and I have multiple dual band switches on that same circuit about 3 feet away from this switch.
  14. Hello Support Forum> I’m new to the Insteon/ISY-99i world, and have a question I can’t find the answer to anywhere. I’m ready to purchase my first KeypadLinc 2486DWH6 Switch (6 button). I want to program the ON button to toggle the ON and OFF the wired light (Patio Lights), and I want the OFF button to toggle a scene on and off using multiple Insteon switched lights. Is it possible to program the ON / OFF buttons to do two different things or are these buttons hard coded to only turn the wired light on and off? I will custom etch the buttons if I can program the ON and OFF keys. Thanks for anyone’s feedback . . .
  15. Great advise, that worked. I added Status 'Front Porch Light Switch' is not 30% to the top of Front Porch Motion Sensed program and it solved the problem, thanks for your advice.
  16. I used the word backyard when I meant front porch. Yes, when I activate the front porch scene, the admin console shows the current state of 30%.
  17. This sounds like a conflicting requirement to me. Do you want them on indefinitely or do you want them to turn off 10 minutes after sensing motion? I have two objectives I want to work together. Objective 1: For security I want the lights to fast on when motion is detected (10 minutes, then turn off). Objective 2: I want to be able to use the lights as a scene or mood when in the back yard (30% power) without Objective 1 interfering over taking over. How can I get Objective 1 to stop when I have Objective 2 active?
  18. Hello Forum Group. I’m new to the Insteon/ISY-99i implementation, and didn’t realize how little I knew about if/then/else statements. I’ve been trying to configure a desired result for over three nights now, and have given up; hoping someone with better programming skills and experience can help me produce the results I’m looking for. I feel like a free-loader, but have no other choice than to ask. Hardware: ISY-99i Pro 2477D SwitchLinc Dual Band Dimmer 2420M Motion Sensor I used a helpful example from http://www.handymanhowto.com/2009/05/31 ... on-sensor/ and tried to incorporate the Scene to stop the program, but have had no success. My requirements for the porch light program are: 1. The porch lights will turn on for 10 minutes when motion is sensed from 30 minutes before sunset to 15 minutes after sunrise. 2. The motion sensor can be overridden by “double clicking†OFF, i.e. pressing the ToggleLinc switch OFF quickly two times, to keep the porch lights off indefinitely. This is useful when I want to look at the stars or for Halloween when the scene should be kept dark to view the decorations. 3. Manually turning the ToggleLinc switch ON will turn on the lights indefinitely and re-enable the motion sensor program. When the switch is manually turned OFF, the motion sensor program takes over again by default. 4. I want the program to NOT run if I have an active Scene enabled (30% lighting) – THIS IS THE PART I CAN’T GET WORKING * I’ve tried adding “Status 'Front Porch Light Switch' is not On 30%†to the folder properties and that didn’t work. I also tried adding “or / and Status 'Front Porch Light Switch' is not 30%†to the ‘Porch Motion Sensed†and that didn’t work either. I’m not sure where or how to incorporate a scene expectation to the program running so that the motion sensor rules don’t apply when I have my backyard scene (30%) active. In practice, the common scenarios are: • Lights are controlled by the motion sensor by default. • If I turn the switch ON, the lights stay ON until I turn them OFF. • If I want to keep the porch lights off for a time, I double click OFF the light switch. • When I come back inside, I flip the light switch ON/OFF once to re-enable the motion sensor. • If I have an active scene on (30%) the program will not run. The ISY-99i program code is kept in a Folder named ‘Front Porch Light’. Folder Conditions for 'Front Porch Light' Add conditions to limit when programs in this folder are allowed to run. If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Allow the programs in this folder to run. Purpose of the 'Run Program ... (Else Path)' is to reset the motion on/off flag. Program Content for 'Porch Light Daily Reset' If Time is Sunrise + 30 minutes Then Set 'Front Porch Light Switch' Off Run Program 'Porch Light On 10 Minutes' (Else Path) Enable Program 'Porch Motion Sensed' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Comment: Turns off the porch lights 30 minutes after dawn and resets the program flags in case the lights were manually overridden and left on all night. Any advice is greatly appreciated . . .
