  1. I have an Insteon 2477D dimmer switch controlling an overhead light. It is connected through my ISY and I can control it by "voice command" through Alexa. I have no problem turning on the light via the ISY or by voice command, but when I press the top part of the paddle to turn on the light it usually doesn't work. The "bottom" part of the paddle switch seems fine and will easily turn OFF the light, but when I try and turn it ON, I have to poke at it several times in several different places and often it just won't turn on. I bought a new 2477D dimmer switch with a brown colour change kit and I was about to replace the entire switch, but I am now wondering if it might just be a problem with the paddle itself? Has anyone seen this (almost like the contacts are just not connecting when I try to press it ON"
  2. Thx. I will look at the connectors more closely when I get home / but I am going to assume that the fact that the LED light on the 2 access points is dark means both those units are not functioning.
  3. I am not at home right now but I believe that is how I have it set up. The ISY has 2 Ethernet ports on the back. One is plugged into the switch. The other is plugged directly into the 2413S.
  4. I wonder if the problem is with the 2 2443 access points. Each of the access points and the 2413S have an LED light. The 2413S which is hard wired to the ISY has a green lit LED. But the LED light on each of the access points, one of which is on the main floor and one upstairs is dark. Not lit.
  5. Interesting. My black box ISY is connected through an Ethernet cable downstairs in the basement and then I have 2 of the “white boxes” plugged into wall outlets upstairs and then on the second floor but they are not connected to an Ethernet cable, they are just plugged into a wall outlet
  6. My black box (ISY) is plugged into an Ethernet cable downstairs in the basement which connects to an Ethernet switch. (My router is connected in another room). It is also plugged into an Insteon Powerlinc Serial 2413S. I then have 2 Insteon Access Points 2443 plugged into wall outlets (not connected to any Ethernet, just plugged into a wall outlet - one on the main floor and one on the second floor)
  7. It seems to be working now. Re-set the ISY (unplugged it and plugged it back in) - seems to be in the list of items now. Will try and program it into a scene. Thx
  8. Thx for the quick reply. Sorry to be clear, is my PLM the ISY black box? It is definitely more than 5 years old, but it seems to be working to control all of the other devices. The switch is in a closet on the second floor - many of my insteon switches are far further away.
  9. I have an ISY 994i controlling upwards of 25 insteon switches around my house. Scenes and programs are running fine. I "lost connection" to a couple of the insteon switches so thinking at least one them was bad, I just purchased a few new insteon switches. I am now trying to add a new Insteon On/off 2477S (rev Nov 2024) to my ISY but I cannot seem to add it to my Admin Console. I wired up the switch and it is controlling the light (stair lights) but when I try to add it either through "start linking" or "add new insteon advice and typing in the address of the switch", nothing seems to be happening. I press the set button on the bottom of the new switch, (it is just on/off), the bottom light turns green, but then when I try to add it - I get nothing. (when I say I Get nothing, what I mean is the admin console screen barely looks like it is doing anything - When I check the Event Viewer it says "Device Already Added, ignored" But it does not show up anywhere in my list of devices.) My firmware is 4.9.0 and my UI is 4.9.0. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thx
  10. I was about to reply that I do not have a portal account as my recollection (could be wrong) when I looked at this a few years ago was that there was some conflict with a portal account and using MobiLinc Pro, which I use quite a bit just to turn things off and on and through Alexa. But now I see the next post that suggests that the UDM app does not work with the 99i in any event. Thx
  11. Thx - Would “basic things” include changing the action of certain Insteon items within a Program from, for example, Fast On to FastOff, or add new Insteon item events within a Program?
  12. Long time user of the Admin Console running on Java on my desktop to access my ISY which controls apx 40 + Insteon light switches in my home. I also have been using MobiLinc Pro on my iOS device to control the lights and also through Alexa for voice controls. However, I am not able to access the Admin Console and add / edit numerous Programs I have running through the MobiLinc Pro app and I need to be home in front of my computer to access the Admin Console. Given restrictions about installing 3rd party software (including Java) on my work laptop I have been using an older computer at home to access the Admin Console. Question - Is there any ability or app that would allow me the same level of access to the Admin Console / meaning the same ability to edit Programs, add scenes etc running on the ISY through an iOS device? Thank you in advance
  13. Even stranger. I tied the Admin Console from an old computer I have in the house and while painfully slow, it worked. Not sure why it did;t work on my main computer. Keeps saying "not found"
  14. it is running all the programs (although over the past little while all of the lights have randomly shut off) but I have upwards of 20 programs controlling about 30 insteon switches and they are still running properly every day, I just can't access the ISY to change the programs.
  15. I have been using Admin Console on my Mac for years to login to my ISY994i to control my home lighting. Don't recall making any changes but now I am getting the error ISY Finder:Not Found and I can't access the ISY to change any programs etc. Any suggestions?
