I have been using Admin Console on my Mac for years to login to my ISY994i to control my home lighting. Don't recall making any changes but now I am getting the error ISY Finder:Not Found and I can't access the ISY to change any programs etc. Any suggestions?

Thx for the reply. I am using ISY 994i (firmware 4.5.1 and UI 4.2.18 - although I doubt the firmware makes a difference) I was also thinking about replacing the cabana light bulbs with the Phillips Hue system but the bridge and 3 bulbs is almost $200 and I would prefer to replace 1 wall switch (which controls the exterior lights) and can then integrate into MyLighting.

I am currently using an isy 99i to control about 50 insteon wall switches in my home, which I installed when I built the house (about 6 years ago). I recently put up a Cabana in my backyard and I have been able to extend my wifi signal out to the backyard. I would like to add the lights in my cabana to my home network so I need to go out and purchase some new insteon wall switches to control the lights so I can add them to MyLighting. Here is the question. When I look online (Amazon, HomeDepot etc) for insteon switches they all talk about compatibility with the Hub but none of them (or at least I have not seen it) say anything about compatibility with the isy99i. It may be a stupid question but are there any particular insteon switches I need to look for (or avoid) to buy and install so I can then connect them to MyLighting? Thanx in advance.

I currently connect to my ISY through MobiLinc Pro on my iOS devices and through the Admin Console on my desktop. I recently changed my home routers to an AirPort Base Station and a couple of Airport Expresses placed throughout my house. I used to be able to access MyLighting through a web browser from outside the home accessing my web browser and the correct port. Since I changed my router I have been unable to access MyLighting from outside my home network and it is probably because I have not port forwarded properly on the Airport Base Station. I did some searching through the Apple forums but could not find a way to properly set it up through the base station to allow me to access MyLighting remotely through a browser. . I will keep looking through these forums but appreciate any assistance. Thanx Dov

Thanx for the reply. My Thermostats are not controlled by the ISY. If I don't use "my lighting" all off, is there another way to ensure all the lights are turned off?

I have a number of programs which run automatically based on time. For example, on Friday evening at 11:55 pm, I have a command that says set scene "My Lighting" to Fast Off. This turns off all of the lights in the house, (and then I run another program at 11:57 to turn on the Outside lights) I then created a Scene called "Coming Home" which I marked as a Favourite and using MobiLinc Pro on my iPhone, I can turn the Scene On as I am getting home to turn on those lights I selected to include in the Scene. I now want to create a Scene called "House to Bed" which would turn off all the lights in the house, not necessarily with a keypad press, but just with my iPhone by running the Scene. The problem is, when I set the Program, I have the choice of setting "My Lighting" to Fast Off. When I am trying to add to the Scene "House to Bed", there is no "My Lighting" in the list that I can add to the Scene and turn it Off. Not sure if this is question is clear, but basically, while I can set My Lighting to Off in a program, I do not seem to have the same choice / capability when trying to create a Scene. I am sure there is a simple answer but I must be "misunderstanding" how something is supposed to work. Thanx in advance.

I did a search for "double press" but recv'd an error that it is too common a search term. I am trying to write a program that would, for example, turn off all the lights in the basement, (or turn of all the lights in some other area) by "double pressing" a button on a 6 button keypad (either the Off button, or A, B, C or D) but I cannot find out how to program a "double press". (For example, if I press the Off once, and then wait 3 seconds and if I press the OFf again, I want it to turn off all the lights, not just a smaller sub set.) Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanx

Thank you for the reply. Yes, Apple is very "Apple centric" and I appreciate the closed nature of their system. When I do programming, I sit down at my computer, but when I am lazy, I prefer to just reach for the ipad and it would be nice to be able to change some lighting programs without having to fire up the desktop (which is upstairs) Thanx.

I do all of my "lights programming" by going to the Universal-devices/support web page, clicking on "My Isy" and then waiting for the Java applet to start to take me to my Admin. Console. This works fine from a desktop / laptop, but for obvious reasons, I cannot access this Admin console page on my ipad. Are there any suggestions for accessing the admin console to program etc from an ipad?

I have a similar issue which raises a question. If for example, I have KeyPad B set to turn on the stair lights. (that is part of the "scene"). I then write a program to turn on the stair lights at a certain time in the evening and turn off the stair lights at a certain time in the morning. When I write the program, should I state "at a certain time [Turn Stair Lights ON] or should I somehow include the Keypad B in the program (i.e. activate the Stair Lights through Keypad ? Does that question make sense? The way I have been doing it (not referencing the KeyPad within the program, I am left with the lights going off in the morning, but the keypad B still lit)

I am trying to refine a program that I wrote which will turn off my daughter's closet if she leaves the light on for more than 10 minutes. I want this program be operative every day, except I do NOT want it to run from 6pm on Friday until Saturday evening. I tried (for example) If on Sunday, from 9:00am to 6:00 pm (5 days later) AND [daughter's closet] is ON, then [send email and turn off light]. The program works fine during the week, but for some reason, Friday evening it is still shutting it off. Is there a way of doing something like IF ON Sunday, OR Monday OR Tue, etc. (but not Friday night or Saturday) AND time is between [ ] and [ ] AND close light is on, THEN... Any suggestions would be appreciated. (What I do now is I manually disable that program on Friday afternoon)

This has been very helpful. I have since modified the program to include both my daughter's closets (If Daughter A's closet is ON OR Daughter B's closet is ON, etc) and to provide that after 10 minutes, the lights are shut off (and I still get an email so I can remind them that they left it on!)

Thanx. I was missing the existence of the "Wait" command. Very helpful.

I am trying to write a program which would rely on a time lapse as a condition. For example, I would like to receive an email notification if my daughter's closet light is left on for longer than 10 minutes (leading me to believe that she turned it on and then walked out of the room forgetting to turn it off). I have been playing around but have not yet figured out how I would program the condition. Any assistance / tips would be appreciated. TIA (thanx in advance)

I have been using my Issy99i for about 3 months and reading this forum for about the same but trying to get comfortable with some programming. I have 3 simple questions. 1. I am trying to test a very simple program which will turn on 3 lights on Friday night 9:30pm and then turn them off at 11:30 pm, and then on Saturday night at the same time 9:30 pm, I want the same lights to turn on, and at 11:30 pm on Sat. night, the same lights to turn off. I set up a program called Test ON and wrote "If on Friday, time is 9:30 PM OR on Sat. time is 9:30 pm, THEN SET [certain lights] ON ELSE No actions" I then set up a second program called Test OFF and wrote "If on Friday time is 11:30 pm OR on Sat. time is 11:30 pm THEN SET [certain lights] OFF ELSE No actions". I am sure there is a more artful way of doing it, but will this work? 2. When I am in the Admin console, I have all of the Insteon lights under the heading "My Lighting". Is there a simple way of writing a program that would, for example, at night turn ALL my lights off, except for, stair lights? I looked in the "list" of Insteon items when I am writing a program for "My Lighting" but I only see each Insteon switch itemized separately. How would I do an ALL OFF command? 3. I have a few other programs which I run regularly but I do not want them to run, when I am running this test. Is the best way to stop a program from running, to go into the "Program Summary" tab and right click on the program to "Disable" it? Thanx in advance for the help.

I have been using Mobilinc Pro on both my Touch and my ipad to control my Insteon lighting in the house. It works very well although it definitely does not take advantage of the larger screen real estate afforded by the ipad. It is very easy to use to dim or turn lights off or on but it does not seem to allow any programming.

Thanx. (I think) this makes sense to me. Basically what you are saying, is develop the program and then designate a button on one of the keypads to trigger the "Vacation" programs. I guess the only potential downside issue with that, is with 4 kids running around "pressing" buttons, they could inadvertently put it all into Vacation mode.

Recently moved into a new home and I have been really enjoying programming scenes and managing the lights through my ISY 99i. I have also spent a lot of time reading through these fourms (just reg'd this morning) and there is a ton of useful info. (One of the most important pieces of information that I came across was that when you designate a switch as a "Controller" in a scene, it automatically assumes that the switch is ALSO a Responder. This may seem self evident, but it wasn't to me and it made many questions I had just simply vanish. Thanx for that throw away comment. Here is my question. I am trying to write a couple of programs for Vacation. I am ok with setting different conditions and events to take place within the "Vacation" program, but what I do not yet follow is how I "activate" the Vacation program to the exclusion of the other programs. For example, I have some simple programs to turn on Stair Lights and Front Door Overhead light around Sunset and then turn them off at Sunrise. I also have a few other programs that run on their own every day. But if I establish a Vacation program to take into account, for example, being away over a particular weekend, how do I get that Vacation program to run and NOT for the other programs that would normally run every day, to run during the Vacation program? Do I have to go into the programming screen and "disable" or somehow turn the other programs "OFF"? Thanx in advance
