I totally believe that! ?

guess you told him

Hey I started this thread! ? I’m still tuned in! ??

his quote was taken out of context. you should’ve quoted his entire sentence. that’s why he said “while important”

are you saying there has been a recent filing in the FCC database for a new PLM?

The 2635-222 has been discontinued not backordered. That has nothing to do with low supply of chips. Amazing how you missed that. An outlet switch is one of the most basic devices for home automation. Not a good sign to discontinue that device. Unless as MrBill suggested they are coming out with a new model in which case it’s poor marketing.

I emailed smart home about the Insteon On/Off module 2635-222. The response I got is pretty concerning. I can’t believe something as basic as the plug-in on/off outlet switch has been discontinued. Anyone else hear any news about Insteon? “We had escalated the issue to our resources, and we got an update stating that On/Off Module is a discontinued product and we do not have any immediate plans to bring On/Off Module back in due to limited sales.”

Good question. I hope something more intuitive and user friendly. I only access the UI about 4 times a year. I feel like I have to learn everything all over again each time and still often have to come to the forum for advice on how to setup what seems like should be a simple program. I would have preordered Polisy if I knew it had a much better UI, but I was expecting something very similar to what we currently have.

How is geek status verified? My wife says I am. Good enough?

hmmm? like that? I thought all you needed was the name with "@" in front of it like I did the first time?

The Intro to Polisy page says Ring is supported. I don’t see a polyglot for that on the list. I need to figure out how to search for them on github. Nothing comes up searching on my phone. Will try again later at home on my laptop. Can someone give some examples what i can do by integrating Polisy and Ring to ISY and Insteon?

The Introducing Polisy page describes it, "Polisy is your plug & play polyglot." That probably says it all if you are a programmer. I'm just the average Joe User that loves home automation because it's suppose to make life easier. But I'm definitely not a programmer and like most people I want things to be simple and easy to setup. As much as I love the capabilities of my ISY, I have to scratch my head the couple times a year that I need to add a new device or create a new scene or program. I have to relearn it all over again. If you don't do it often, its not intuitive enough (for me) to just login to the GUI and just do it. So, is Polisy going to make any of that easier? And, what all can Polisy do? The Tesla example on the intro page was helpful to give me ideas. However, I won't have a Tesla in my immediate future. I do have a house full of Insteon switches, Echo devices, Ring Cameras, and Schlage Connect locks. What can Polisy do with what I have? Or, what can Polisy do with what I should buy next... short of buying a new Tesla. It seems like a long list of examples would be helpful for people to understand. I love new toys! I want excuses to buy the new Polisy!

Yep, it sounds to me like Polisy is the next gen ISY. Here is a direct quote from Michel Kohanim from the Introducing Polisy comment section, "Polisy is designed to be fully integrated with ISY (you’ll use the same interface to talk with both). Furthermore, over time, functions in ISY will be moved over to Polisy such that Polisy will become the next gen ISY."

I like the idea of being able to set up ISY to turn off my 220v electric water heaters and my 220v water well pump in the event that moisture is detected on my mechanical room floor. I see the Insteon 2477SA is discontinued? Anyone know why? I guess there are a few still for sale out there. I also discovered this product: https://innovativehomesys.com/collections/b-wired-in-devices/products/heavy-duty-208-240v-load-controller?variant=8125838196856 which appears to be third party load controller that they modified by installing an Insteon switch. They also make one with an Insteon outlet. What do you guy think about the product I linked? Do you have any other/better ideas for turning off an electric water heater and well water pump remotely and with the use of an Insteon water sensor switch?

I'd like some suggestions for a sump pump alarm. My preference would be a float switch that would cause an alarm when the water level gets too high in the sump (indicating the sump pump failed). I'd like to get a text in the even the water level goes high. An audible alarm would be good too. I don't care if the solution is Insteon or Z-wave or whatever. I just want whatever is the most reliable.

I'm just getting started with my new ISY. I only have about Insteon 6 switches installed. I'm going on a vacation. The outside lights are already setup to do the usual sunset on / sunrise off program. I'd like to setup my master bedroom light to come on at random times to give a little bit of a lived in look in the evenings. Can I get some constructive criticism on my program below. I'm leaving in the morning so I won't have much time to trial this program. What I have below, I think, will turn on the master bedroom light for at least 11 minutes but it could be up to 30 minutes then turn off the master light for at least 11 minutes to 30 minutes. This will repeat from sunset until 11:59pm. I realize that for now I will have to manually start this program when I leave and disable it when I return. Should I have the then "repeat every 0 seconds" at the beginning or the end of the list of then commands? Do I even need the repeat every 0 seconds" command? Will it repeat on its own? Do I even need an "else" command? Is it serving a purpose. Seems like that could just be left blank. Vacation - [ID 0007][Parent 0001] If From Sunset To 11:59:00PM (same day) Then Repeat Every 0 seconds Set 'Master / Master Light' On Wait 10 minutes Wait 20 minutes (Random) Set 'Master / Master Light' Off Wait 10 minutes Wait 20 minutes (Random) Else Set 'Master / Master Light' Off

Master Accent and Front Soffit did have exclamation marks. I couldn't figure out how to fix them. They seemed to go away over night. I suppose the auto query. However, they still look different that the stairwell icon. All 3 are insteon dimmer switches so I would think they should look the same.

Please look a couple posts up. I posted all of the scenes involved in this discussion. All of those scenes include the keypadlincs. Of course, the scenes where they are red, they are controllers. The scenes in blue they are responders. I am currently using two keypad switches. They are called "Foyer 6.button.upstairs" and "Kitchen 8.button.upstairs". I have decide I'm only going to use these 2 keypadlinc buttons not 3 like I initially stated.
-
One thing that has me scratching my head... Then Wait 1 second Set 'Foyer 6-Button.Upstairs' On 15 / Off 3 (Backlight Level) ... why can't I just set it for "on" or "off"? How does the program know if the action I want is the light to be on at 15 or off at 3?
-
I'm still struggling to get this to work. Right now it almost works. The problem is that if I turn off ANY light upstairs the light on the keypad turns off. I don't want the light on the Keypad to turn off unless ALL of the upstairs lights are turned off. Here is what I can show you that I have for programs and scenes. If Status 'Upstairs Stairs Top' is Off And Status 'Upstairs Stairs Bottom' is Off And Status 'Upstairs Hall MB' is Off And Status 'Upstairs Hall Laundry' is Off And Status 'Upstairs Hall Addie' is Off And Status 'Bedroom Light Guest' is Off And Status 'Bedroom Light Chloe' is Off And Status 'Bedroom Light Addie' is Off And Status 'Master Ceiling Light' is Off Then Wait 1 second Set 'Foyer 6-Button.Upstairs' On 15 / Off 3 (Backlight Level) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If Status 'Bedroom Light Addie' is On Or Status 'Bedroom Light Chloe' is On Or Status 'Bedroom Light Guest' is On Or Status 'Master Ceiling Light' is On Or Status 'Upstairs Hall Addie' is On Or Status 'Upstairs Stairs Top' is On Or Status 'Upstairs Hall Laundry' is Off Or Status 'Upstairs Hall MB' is Off Or Status 'Upstairs Stairs Bottom' is Off Then Wait 1 second Set 'Foyer 6-Button.Upstairs' On 15 / Off 3 (Backlight Level) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') So where did I go wrong. As I look at this again, do I need to delete my bottom 5 scenes where the upstairs light switches are controllers? Or what? Thanks for sticking with me on this.
-
I believe the answer to this is "No". It sounds as if you want these three buttons to come on if any (but not necessarily all of the) light is left on. This generally takes a program that goes something like: if status of light A is on or status of light B is on or status of light C is on etc.... then turn on keypad buttons OK, I think I follow you here. BTW, my original question said basement, but I'm trying to accomplish the exact same thing with my upstairs lights. I'm starting with the upstairs lights. The program below isn't working. When I turn on any of those lights the button on the keypad switch does not light up. For now I'm trying to just get this to work with one Keypad Switch. When this one works properly I'll add the other two. If Status 'Bedroom Light Addie' is On Or Status 'Bedroom Light Chloe' is On Or Status 'Bedroom Light Guest' is On Or Status 'Master Ceiling Light' is On Or Status 'Upstairs Hall Addie' is On Or Status 'Stairs Top' is On Then Set 'Foyer 6-Button.Upstairs' On 14 / Off 3 (Backlight Level) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Right now I have 1 scene that has the "upstairs" keypad button set as controller. The scene has every upstairs light switches as responders. As before, I can turn on every light upstairs with the keypad. I can turn off every light upstairs with the keypad. But, the keypad light still does not turn on when any of these lights are turned on at the switch. I feel like I'm perhaps missing something simple. Like, I just made sure the program is "saved". Not sure what to look for here.
-
I should add that when I attempted to make a scene, the ISY99i told me that some of the switches are already controllers. So, I was forced to add them as responders. So, the keypad switch button does not light up when these lights are turned on. So for now my scene doesn't work very well. In order to turn off a single basement light, I must turn them all on with the keypad switch and then turn them all off.

I have an ISY 99ipro. I'd like to be able to turn off all of my lights in the basement using any of 3 keypad dimmer switches (I have two 8-button and one 6-button). I want to be able to turn off the lights and I want all three keypads to have to corresponding button to light up when a light is left on in the basement. Is it possible to do this with a scene (instead of a program)? I want a "scene" because "programs" only work if the ISY is "online", correct? Whereas, if use the ISY to make a "scene" the switches will still communicate with each other if the ISY is offline. Even though I joined this forum a couple years ago, I've barely used my ISY99i since then. If I must make a program, please give a newb some help. I can't talk the talk so please dumb it down.
