  1. Tried to manually link the new switch to one of the many wall switches that I have....no luck there either....but I'll have to read up more on how to manually link devices as I've never had to link them that way before. Thanks
  2. Brian/lilyoyo1- I've tried some of the suggestions that you have made. I confirmed the address that I was trying to add to the system. I have several dual band modules in the various switches in the system that I have at the house. I tried to plug the trouble module into the same outlet as the PLM. Same results. Factory reset the module with no change. Finally, I tried to add the troubled module to the system, and pressed the set button....nothing came up in the console window, and eventually it timed out with the same error message. The module that I have was purchased off of e-bay, so I'm starting to think that I might have made a donation for a DOA module. Thanks for the help.
  3. lilyoyo1- UI is Insteon_UD994 v 4.9.0 (2020-12-22-11:51:19)
  4. Hi- I'm trying to add a LampLinc 2456D3 (Rev 4.4) to my system, and am running into the Cannot Determine Insteon Engine error message. I've updated my ISY994i/IR PRO to v.4.9.0 per some troubleshooting advice that I found in another thread. I'm still receiving the error message. Level 3 log attached. Any thoughts / troubleshooting ideas? Thanks. ISY-Event-LVL-3-LOG.txt
  5. UPDATE I wanted to post back in case anyone else had the issue of a dim / flickering power light on the ISY. I received my new power supply in the mail the other day. I plugged it in, and crossed my fingers. Sure enough, the power light came on (brighter), and the TX/RX lights started to flash as the unit began to boot. I went online, and verified everything was working as before. Thanks again for the info found here, and good luck to anyone else who searches for this issue, and finds this thread.
  6. Brian- Thanks for the reply. I should have thought about the load resistor...thanks for the heads up. I have the PLM plugged into the outlet, so when the new power supply for the ISY994i arrives, I'll be sure to verify the PLM is on (green indicator light on) before I apply power to the ISY.
  7. I know that this is an old thread....but I figured that I would leave a comment. If I don't get a response, I'll start a new thread with my issue. Came home from work today to see the exterior lights on. Tried to use a few switches, and noticed that the ISY didn't seem to be working. I checked the status lights, and the power light appears dim/possibly flickering. I found this thread, and saw that it might be a bad power supply. I've got one on order that will be here on Thursday. Took a DVM to the existing power supply, and it is outputting 4.95 V DC. I've tried to unplug the PLM module, as well as unplug the ISY. Looking for other troubleshooting tips. Thanks for reading.
  8. Not really....I can turn on a light by using turning on the hardware, or turn it on if it is in a scene, or turn it on if I write a program....in the end, the light gets turned on.
  9. I actually figured this out on accident....I got tired of telling Alexa to tell Izzy to do something....so I just tried to tell Alexa to turn on the family room lights, and it worked. Exactly....but I guess that's because there are so many different ways to get to the end goal.....turning on a light!
  10. Jon....note to self....check the wiki. Thanks for the hand holding. I got things working. It will take some getting used to, and it has proven to be a little frustrating trying to get Alexa to have Izzy turn on/off lights. I was able to add a few devices, and it seemed to work. I tried some scenes as well as programs, but didn't have any luck. I'll try again tomorrow, and do some more research between now and then. Thanks again for your patience.
  11. Jon- Finally got the firmware and UI to match...both are now 4.3.26. Tried again to get the Echo to discover devices, but no luck.
  12. Jon- Thanks for the links and instructions. Now, the UI is at 4.1.1 and the firmware is still at 4.3.26. Am I good to continue?
  13. Okay....Do you know how I would go about fixing that? I logged into the ISY, and it said that there was the update to 4.3.26 available, so I installed that. Not sure how they got out of sync in the first place.
  14. Hi- I'm trying to setup my new Amazon Echo with my ISY controller. I have updated my ISY994/IR Pro to 4.3.26 for the firmware and 4.1.1 for the UI. I went to the ISY portal, and added my ISY with the address from the ISY994 about page. This page lists my ISY, but the indicator icon is yellow, stating that it is pending approval? I went to my profile in the ISY website, and linked my amazon account to the ISY. When I login to the amazon alexa webpage, and try to discover devices, Alexa comes back and states that it can't find any devices. I can access my ISY994 via the internet, so I'm pretty sure that part is working. I've already purchased the portal integration module, so I'm not sure what I'm missing at this point. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  15. stusviews- Thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestion.... When I launched the ISY interface, the device came up with the same error. I tried to restore device, followed by write updates to device with no change. I launched the MobiLinc app on my cell, and gave a command to turn on the device. It responded, and the status changed in the ISY app from the red exclamation point to the usual icon. I repeated the restore device command, followed by write updates to device. No change observed. I closed the ISY interface on my PC, and launched it again. After I logged in, I did not get the error stating that it could not communicate with the device in question. It appears that the device can be reached by the ISY. Since this is an intermittent problem, I'll check again tomorrow and report back. Thanks for your help.
