  1. I think I know the answer to this but thought I would ask anyway: Does the ISY-99i have to be wired directly to the PLM for everything to work? It would be extemely beneficial for my install if I could hook the ISY-99i to a switch and then run ethernet cable from other switches to PLM's in my house and detached garage. Last year, I painstakingly ran cat 6 to all points of my house including the detached garage. It is my understanding that I would need to bridge the house and detached garage with access points hoping the RF can make the jump well enough to be efficient. The two structures are only about 20 feet apart but from my readings of the forum, the access points seem somewhat unreliable. If I could use the Cat 6 wire already in place, things would be much easier.
  2. Thanks for the quick reply and point taken.
  3. I pulled the old outlet and there are two black wires inserted into the back of the outlet and two white wires inserted into the other side of the outlet (plus the ground). the insteon outlet has one black, one white, and a ground. I already tested all wires and one of the black wires is hot but none of the others. Do I twist the 3 black wires together and the 3 white wires together? So far, none of the wiring diagrams that comes with the instructions has matched anything in my house lol.
  4. Thanks Michel. I guess it isn't a huge issue as I think I can embed the ISY-99i browser in a irule GUI. I was hoping to see just a few feedbacks on my main page.
  5. I just installed my isy-99i last night along with a few switches to control lights in a theater. I'm planning on adding a thermostat as well as several other devices. I would like to see feedbacks within irule of temperature, light status, etc. I was able to successfully set up irule to control the insteon lights. I'm not sure where to start designing my feedbacks.
