I ran the PLM restore program it took most the day but now all seems fine. thanks for the tips and help. Not sure what happend to the 99I but it seems something is wrong on the com side of the system going to the PLM. I will be testing the 2314 to se if that is the problem. then I will have a 99i I can sell on e-bay.

I bought new unit and it works, kind of. on off commands work very quick but changin the ramp rate takes minuites. something is wrong. I got new unit and PLM from SH as a kit ($400.00 IN ALL) hooked it up to ethetnet and plugged in PLM. started 99 console and it hooked up and seemed to work fine. restored database from backup to new system and it all seemed to be there and working fine for on/off commands. I did noting to PLM to add it I just plugged it in. After problem with long times then i tried to restore PLM and the it never completed. just box says system busy.... ramp rates in switch do program eventually. Looking for some ideas.

still not working, manual on 2413 has no testing info, The isy seems to work ok but system does not send or receive any traffic. when I first noticed problem the lan lights on this port were not working. So lan port on isy may be bad or the 2413 is blown. any help would be helpfull on the reset/testing of the PLM/PLC Combiniation

I put power on the power jack and now it lights and it works fine from the network side... i am trying to get it control lights and such but nothing, maybe the PLC is bad. All LEDs work fine even the rj45 plug. Now see if I can fix the PLC

Ah Thank you! I see it now, I casually looked the other day but missed it. I even read the revision number printed on the sticker but it never registered the other numbers were the address. Always the simple things...... Thanks Ray

I have a Remote link 2440 that stopped working and am trying to restore the links to it. When changing a link or trying to restore it the program times out and nothing changes. So in trying to start fresh I deleted the 2440 from the data base and I use the Link management/Link a remote link/ program but no Inseton address pop up in the address box. I hold the dim and bright as instructed. No link. I also can link the 2440 to other switches manually without using ISY and it works so i know it is transmitting and communicating. I also reset the 2440 to factory setting by taking out the batteries and holding the bright on reinsertion of the battery. I have anothe 2440 and it will program by isy when making changes and works fine but also will not show up in the address field when trying to linkk t ti the ISY I have not unpowered the ISY or PLM I have a ISY99i, 2.7.0, using a iMAC, and the Java work around. Any help would be great

I just found a reason to upgrade" "Fixes in 2.6.4 Replace Device used to change the device type to Icon LampLinc" I just ran into this after replacing old switches It messed up the device type and the controls for on/off etc.. were missing from my screen. I had to remove it from my lighting and then re link/add the device then assign it to the appropriate sceens. Only 3 did this out of 8 replacements. What will be the next firmware revision and when will it be available? Should I upgrade to a higher version in the meantime? 2.6.4? 2.6.5.... Ray

Thank you, I will quit trying to fix it then....

On my new 2476D switches it says REV 4.0 and in the ISY it shows V.33. Is there any reason for this? Is there a listing of Revision numbers fro Insteon devices and the changes to them? I am having many switch failures (paddle) most are Version 2.1 2.2 It would be nice to know witch one are old via software as in the ISY

I have a problem whereas I set up a 3 way sceen 2 2476D's One controlling the load "master" another as a "slave" and Then I set the on level for both devices to 50%. (via ISY) Each switch on the first press will trigger the load to 50% the master switch if pressed again will then turn the load at a full 100% both master and slave leds track properly. My problem is when the slave switch is pressed it works fine and turns on the load to 50 % upon a second press the slave leds will advance to 100% but the load and the master switch will stay at the 50% I have to double tap the slave switch to get the load and the master switch to go to 100%. Another funny thing is that if I tap the slave switch on (no double tap ) the leds on the slave switch go to 100% and then to 50% if tapped once agian repetedly if tapped agian and agian I have tried restoring them, manually removing the links between the two switches and manually replacing them as well as with the ISY. If I hold the slave switch on rather than tapping, both master and slave work fine. I am not sure what is going on. It's like they are not synced 100% or something. This is my first 3 way set with a local dimming level.

I have firmware 2.6.3 is there any reason to upgrade to a higher version? All is working fine now for months. Ray

Michel took care of all my issues and the 99i is working fine now. UDI has gone above and beyond with my issues. They even called me on Sunday to diagnose my problems. GREAT JOB!!!

I used the link calculator and it comes up with 619 links. in the calculator it shows the max for the PLM is 417. Now what else can I do?

Yes I did choose option 1 while adding devices. Funny thing though some of the devices must not of been cleared because after they were added but not assigned to a sceen they would still work as a virtual 3 way as they were programmed as before. So then I did go through and do a factory reset on the individule devices and after reloading them I still got comm problems and such. Other that these few devices all the factory resets were to the 99i to bring the program tabs back. Does anyone have more than 30 or 40 devices? I have 85 and want to install a few more. I was hoping for a controller that can handle my whole house. I have a disability and am mostly in a wheel chair and I wanted to do my whole house so things would be easier for me. Up until now everything was done manually with keypad links and such. I was looking for a device that I could program timers and such.

I got about 1/2 of my devices loaded and now it is giving me many communication errors, while making sceens they error out too. I am not sure what is going on. I am giving up for now after 2 days of messing arround with this thing. I am restoring everything from my house link desk top to get my family off my back. I hope it doesent fail. It seems like after I get 30 or so devices loaded it starts to get flakey. I added another 10 devices and did a backup and it failed on the back up. Then the Tabs did not work again. I did a factory reset and reloaded my 10th back up and it was OK until I started loading new devices. While doing so I kept getting errors. My PLM is a version 2.75 Very frustrated...

I did a factory reset and this fixed everything. Although when I restore my backup that has all my links it fouled it up agian. I did another reset and now am re-adding everything again. (ug) it seems to be working good so far and I am testing and backing up after every group of Insteon devices. I could of been some corrupt file or possibly a problem when I get as too many links or devices programmed in???? Not sure yet.
