That makes perfect sense. Thanks for all the help!

    Does this exist?

So I think I understand... My existing wires look like 2 strand speaker wire. When the wire ends are touched together, it closes the circuit and the fireplace starts. If I understand the diagrams correctly (assuming I can find a convenient place to plug in the i/o link), I would slip one wire in the n/c or n/o port (likely n/o, so it would show as "ON" when triggered the other way and "Close" the circuit on demand?), and the other in the common port. The series vs parallel is a little over my head (not an electrical guy), but I'm sure I can google it and figure it out. Does that sound about right? Also- thanks for the help, I really appreciate the hand.

I have 2 wires that leave my gas fireplace and go to a switch on the wall. The switch is not powered- it simply closes or opens the circuit mechanically to turn on or off the fireplace. There is not a load wire to the wall box. Is there a non powered (or battery powered) Insteon device that I could control via an ISY to remotely control / schedule turning the fireplace on or off?
  4. So I've got the new LED programmable lightbulbs installed as an "Unsupported Device 1.58", and they work great, sans one feature- when one of the kids turns off the normal switch, they lose power. Is there a way anyone knows that I could code based on the event "Lost Power" or "Gained Power" ? It would be nice if someone turned it off via a normal switch I could detect it and change its state to "On" when it regains power if the switch had been turned off while the light was in the off state. Currently, it remembers its last state and returns to that- that doesn't work very well if I've timer'd it off and then someone turns off the switch.
  5. I have created a scene that contains one light (bedroom). I set the Scene ramp rate to 9 minutes (Max) and On Level to 80%. The Light Ramp Rate is set to 2 seconds, On Level to 100%. I have a program that says If Time is 6:00AM Then Set Scene 'WakeUp' On This turns the lights on, but at the local light rate of 2sec/100%. If I modify the scene to 8min/80%, it works appropriately, slowly turning the lights on over 8 minutes. Is there a reason that setting the scene values to max would change the behavior of the Scene On command?
