  1. I have another silly question for you... I can't seem to locate an example of how to integrate the ISY Climate module into the display. Is there a way to query the ISY994i for weather local information? If so, could you give a quick example?
  2. Sorry for the late response - yard work today. ? I'm not actually using HA, it was just the component that was giving me fits in the installation script.
  3. I found it! I was receiving a compiler error during the homeassistant install where one of the gcc headers was missing (ffi.h). I manually installed libffi-dev and libssl-dev and got it to work. Time to start tinkering with it!
  4. Thanks for the help (and as much as I want this to work, I wish it was as simple as not letting it reboot.) I have to SSH into the Pi because it's difficult to work with the desktop oriented in portrait mode. Here's the output from systemctl:" softconsole.service - SoftConsole Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/softconsole.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: activating (auto-restart) (Result: exit-code) since Sat 2019-04-20 09:35:05 CDT; 1s ago Process: 1322 ExecStart=/home/pi/consolestable/runconsole.py (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 1319 ExecStartPre=/bin/sleep 5 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Main PID: 1323 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE) Apr 20 09:35:05 BODY-WARS systemd[1]: softconsole.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE Apr 20 09:35:05 BODY-WARS systemd[1]: softconsole.service: Unit entered failed state. Apr 20 09:35:05 BODY-WARS systemd[1]: softconsole.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'." I think my instance is crashing before it creates the log, because I don't have a Console.log in the directory you mentioned. I tried to run it manually and I get this: Traceback (most recent call last): File "console.py", line 44, in <module> import hasshub File "/home/pi/consolestable/hasshub.py", line 3, in <module> import haremote as ha File "/home/pi/consolestable/haremote.py", line 18, in <module> from aiohttp.hdrs import METH_GET, METH_POST, CONTENT_TYPE ImportError: No module named 'aiohttp' Funny thing is, in the last installation attempt, I saw that library being installed. It's odd... Again, thanks for your help! I'm dying to get this going.
  5. Well, I decided to jump into the fray and sadly, after four attempts at starting with a fresh Raspbian Stretch install and running the pisetup.sh script, I'm just greeted with the tiny desktop after all the scripts finish and reboot. I have a Pi 3B+ with the PiTFT Plus 3.5" from Adafruit. Any idea how to troubleshoot this? Thanks for the help...
  6. It seems that the problem was not my ISY, but an attack from the outside. I deleted the HTTP route from my router, and everything cleared right up. I'll be sticking with my SSL connection from now on. Another user was having the same issue here: Unable to Access Web UI or Admin Console
  7. Brilliant! I just removed the HTTP (port 80) route from my router and everything is working again. I'm sticking to SSL only from now on.
  8. I'm having the EXACT same issue - and I would bet money that the network activity from your router/switch to your ISY is incredibly high. I actually have another post here: Constant Network Activity
  9. Funny - I would do that if I could actually get to my ISY. After the router reboot, it worked for a few hours and now I'm back to constant network activity. Programs are still running fine, but there is so much network activity that I can't even reach the administrator interface.
  10. I rebooted the router and it's a bit better now, as I can actually reach the ISY now. However, there's still quite a lot of network traffic to/from the ISY. I suppose my next step is to route traffic through a logger to see what the heck is going on. Note that all of my programs are running fine, so it has nothing to do with my Insteon devices. This issue is restricted to the volume of intranet/internet traffic.
  11. No, no changes to my router. My IP address for the ISY is static, and the DHCP IP range is not configured to assign IP addresses that would conflict with the static IP addresses I have in my network.
  12. The LEDs on the front aren't blinking at all, but the LED on the network connection (the back of the unit) is blinking constantly. I'm confident that having an infinite loop is not possible. None of my programs have been changed, and there's never been an issue before. Yes, I updated the UI and cleared the Java cache. I'm on a PC. When I get home, I'll try to reset everything in my network to see if that takes care of the issue. Thanks for the response.
  13. Today my ISY994i is unreachable via the administrator tool. I went to the router that it's plugged into and at that ethernet port there is constant network activity. I updated it a couple of days ago to the most recent release. I've tried rebooting it, moving to a different port on the router, etc. Nothing has worked. HELP!
  14. Will do. Thanks...
  15. Hi Michel, It only asks to be rebooted if I hit the enter key to dismiss the dialogs - hitting the close button on the dialog doesn't get the reboot notification. (See above.) As I said, when I import/receive the cert I have from GoDaddy, nothing in the SSL Certificates Management dialog changes. I would think the issuer field would at least change to "GoDaddy, Inc" or something like that. Also, after importing/receiving the cert I would expect the "Save" button on the Network dialog to be enabled, but it's not. I created a 2048 key request and GoDaddy says that it has a "GoDaddy SHA-2" encryption strength certificate.
  16. Michel, Yes, I'm quite sure I'm doing this for the server and not the client. Is there anything I'm missing here? It's so strange...
  17. Hi Michel, I did what you asked, but nothing displayed in the java console. Just to review my steps: I click "Receive Cert." Copy and paste text from GoDaddy *.crt file into the dialog and click "Ok" Another dialog asks if I want to import intermediate certificates, I click "Yes" I see my certificate in the list, I then click "Import Cert." and select the, "gd_bundle-g2-g1.crt" file from GoDaddy I see the intermediate certificate in the list now I click "Save" - then nothing updates in the SSL Certificates Management dialog (still shows certificate issued by ISY) I press the "Enter" button in order to get the dialog to accept changes (no other dialog displays after step 6, it just sits there), when I press "Enter", the SSL Certificates Management dialog closes I press "Enter" again in order to get the Network dialog to close ISY Dashboard then says it has to reboot for settings to take effect After reboot, the certificate from GoDaddy is gone, and I'm stuck with the certificate issued by the ISY Again, I didn't see anything in the Java console - no exceptions, no messages that it imported... Does that help diagnose what's going on?
  18. Hello all, I have been trying unsuccessfully to receive the certificate I bought from GoDaddy, and nothing I've done seems to work. I have followed the directions to the letter, but when I select the "Receive Cert." button, copy the contents of the .crt file into the dialog, absolutely nothing happens. The dialog doesn't update with the issuer information, and my connection is not trusted anymore. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. I've seen multiple concerns/complaints online when it comes to the communications problems with the Insteon Thermostat 2441TH. Mine was so atrocious that I had to drape a repeater over the top of the thermostat just to get it to link to the ISY994i. Even after I was able to get it linked, it still had very, very low reliability when trying to set the heat and cool temperatures. With that said, I think I have a fix for it. This requires disassembling the thermostat, so if you're uncomfortable doing that, I don't recommend doing this. DISCLAIMER: I assume that this will void any warranty you may still have on your device, so any modifications you make are your responsibility. Also, I will not provide any further instructions beyond what I list here. You'll have to remove the thermostat from your wall, of course, so take care to follow Insteon's instructions to do so. After that, open the back of the thermostat to access the printed circuit board. Remove all 9 phillips-head screws. Carefully lift the board away from the thermostat case. The "front' of the circuit board has the LCD, while the "back" has all the circuitry. The antenna is the problem. While looking at the back of the board, you can find the antenna on the right side. It's a black wire that runs vertically along the right side, then through a cutout at the top of the board, then horizontally along the top-front of the board. Carefully unwrap the antenna wire from the cutout in the top of the board, and carefully straighten it out so that it points perpendicular to the circuit board. (If the board is laying flat, the wire should now be pointing back toward you.) Reattach the circuit board to the housing using the 9 phillips-head screws. Now, cut a very small hole in the left side of the round, felt backing on the back of the thermostat housing. (By left, I mean the opposite side of the large cut in the backing used for the HVAC wires.) Bend the antenna wire so that it runs horizontally back to the slit you just cut. Then bend the wire a second time to run through the slit, perpendicular to the thermostat housing. Note, be careful not to let the antenna wire rest on the board or touch the board itself. Bend the wire accordingly, making sure that when you're finished, the wire pokes out the back of the device (like it has a tail). Finally, practice closing the thermostat body so that you don't having anything binding on the antenna. That way you know you'll be able to open it anytime without ripping the antenna wire from the circuit board. Reinstall your thermostat, following the instructions from Insteon. Your antenna should now be more receptive to signals coming from other devices along the same wall. This slight modification worked great for me as now my thermostat responds immediately to any temperature changes I make via the ISY994i, and also reports temperature and humidity levels consistently and reliably. I hope this helps!
  20. Yes, exactly. I initially noticed that the 3:00 AM query is different, which made me start to investigate the query in a custom program. I suppose the next question would be, is there a way for a program to invoke the query command that is used in the admin tool?

    Query Behavior

I have noticed what appears to me to be a difference between how a query operates from the administrator console to how a query operates from a program. For example, if I query my thermostats via the admin console, much more information is pulled from the thermostat. I can even see all the communication traffic and thermostat data in the ISY log. However, if I do the, "Set Thermostat Query" command from a program, I don't get much information at all. In the log, I can see the query command issued from the program but little to no response from the thermostat. Is this something that is normal behavior for the query command from a program or am I looking at an issue with my ISY? Thanks for the information!
  22. Well this is new - how do I delete a client certificate? I don't see that anywhere... Regards, Larry
  23. I think you're right - rather than re-key my certificate, I just imported the certificate without creating a new CSR. I'll just re-key the certificate and go from there. Larry
  24. Hi Michel, 1. As far as I know, all certificates from GoDaddy are PKCS12 2. I did the import from the Network dialog, clicked the "CA Certificates" button, then used the "CA Certificates" dialog to import my certificate. Note: I used GoDaddy's bundle certificate which should give the entire certificate chain. Thanks for the help! Larry
  25. Hello! I have an SSL certificate issued from GoDaddy that I've imported into the ISY 994i Pro using the new dashboard. However, the ISY is still not using my certificate when I open the java admin console. The console gives me a warning dialog that tells me that the ISY is using a default SSL certificate and it is a security risk. What have I missed? Thanks for the help! Larry
