  1. the PLM was the issue. I now have a 2413U and it is working. but I have to wonder now that Insteon was gone for a while & returned, is everyone migrating to a system that doesn't need a PLM like device? I have Insteon switches throughout my house, and I wonder if I should be moving to zwave or something else if & when I need to replace them so that years down the road, I'm not relying on a PLM that may or may not be available.
  2. the sad thing is I had ordered the Serial PLM Kit already 😳
  3. and I am indeed using a 2413S, and I simply didn't read the instructions. thanks for guiding me, Paul. INSTEON Support – Requires a PLM (not included): 2413S, 2413U, or 24487U. If you are using 2413S (serial/RS232), then you will need our Serial PLM Kit I'll get the usb->ethernet wire.
  4. I'll add that my connection from eisy to plm is usb->rs232->ethernet wondering if I might need the "Serial PLM Kit" which looks like usb->ethernet. anyone have the usb->rs232->ethernet working or was that a mistake?
  5. it says not connected. I think I migrated. need a new one probably?
  6. Hi, I switched to eisy many months ago. I got busy with family & work and never fully completed the task although I have it running 5.7.1, the eisy does not control any of my devices. They do all show up in the admin console and on the UD mobile app. However, an error is issued when I try to query or control devices. Additionally, in IoX Launcher, whenever I try openADR dashboard, nothing happens. I'm stuck & now I have a need with controlling the xmas lights on a schedule, something I have plenty of scenes & programs for, but I can't do anything. I was following this doc (https://www.universal-devices.com/docs/production/oadr.eisy.setup.pdf), but since I cannot get to the openADR dashboard, I don't know what to do. I'll add that the mobile app doesn't work either although from the wording on that doc, it seems like the openADR dashboard setup is just for computer access, not mobile app. any ideas for how to get going again? Steve
  7. @blueman2, I just wanted to thank you for getting me going on home assistant. I noticed after setting up HA on docker on a raspberry pi (with a small cheap usb SSD hopefully for some dependability) that HA can just run on many synology NAS systems. Unfortunately my 418play isn’t on one of them so I’m sticking with the Pi. You are right that token extraction is the most annoying part for setting up a Roborock. I went through and elaborate process of backing up an iPad without encryption and later saw a script is available for this for xiaomi devices like the Roborock which gets the token in seconds. I now happily have HA going with several things including the ISY. It’s great to say “Alexa, vacuum the kitchen” or “Alexa, pause the vacuum” etc and have that integrated and running with HA. Thanks, Steve
  8. @blueman2 I just got polyglot running with a raspberry pi and am now looking at integrating my roborock vacuum. seeing that you already have this working with home assistant, i'm just curious as i currently know nothing about home assistant. i know you aren't doing this as of the post above, but would it be possible to sync events from isy to trigger home assistant to vacuum a certain area? I'm loosely considering looking into mi home polyglot, but this is probably optimistic as i'm on work leave only for a short time and will soon be consumed again daily.
  9. Hi Michel, Thanks for the help. The backup worked after removing that file. Steve
  10. Hi, Just tried to backup my ISY a couple times & got this message both times. Error Could Not Retrieve File /CONF/HW.CFG I didn't see this on a search of the forum. Any idea how to work around this? Steve
  11. Hi all, Thank you very much, I made the edit initially mentioned by LeeG & it works great. And, I also implemented about 20 programs (seen in Wayne's sample in the link a couple messages up) that bins the light current level into categories & assigns the on-level appropriately. Essentially, when you adjust the wall switch, the motion detection is pseudo disabled as that wall switch event triggers a bunch of programs that do - if light status is off, in scene 'motion detector A-Sensor' set 'my lights' 0% (On Level) - if light status >=1 % && light status <= 5%, in scene 'motion detector A-Sensor' set 'my lights' 3% (On Level) - if light status >=6 % && light status <= 10%, in scene 'motion detector A-Sensor' set 'my lights' 8% (On Level) . . . etc. So, when you have it disabled, it actually just sets the lights to roughly their current value. In my setup, turning the light fast-off re-enables the motion detection. This post probably shouldn't have existed. Just my mistake using the scene, rather than the motion sensor in the adjust scene command. What a dream it would be to set the on-level to a variable value, turning these 20 programs into 1 But, thank you for the help. Works great, Steve
  12. Hi, I've just moved from using programs to scenes for motion detection, believing that I could achieve what I want with a scene, but this doesn't seem to be true. Here's the issue: If I go to the scene in the admin console, there is an on-level setting for BOTH the motion detector & the light. I assumed that if i set the on-level on the light to the desired value, that is what would happen when the motion detector is triggered. This is not true. It is the on-level for the motion detector that is used. This might not be a problem, except there is no way to set the on-level to anything but 0% or 100% in a program. If I go to a program & try to add this line: In Scene 'Motion7_Scene_MD' Set 'MotionDetectors/MD7-Sensor' 75% On-Level It cannot be done. The admin console forces your program to use either 0% or 100%. If I navigate to Main & to the scene, the on-level for the motion detector can be set, but it cannot be set by a program. This appears to be a bug? Steve
  13. Thanks Chris, You're right. I blundered the address. After resolving, it now reports like this: DN AC Setpoint: 77.00 DN Temp: 77.00 DN Bathroom Light: Off 2012/08/21 11:27:05 AM ### Not sure if you need to look at the code that reports the ac temp & setpoint as it also gives a trailing Thanks for the help & I'll grab the next release when it is ready. I'm currently running 3.2.6, Steve
  14. Hi, I'm having an issue with my AC unit & I want my ISY to email me some information about the AC setting & temp. Looking at the custom email substitution variables here: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... _Variables I attempted to email myself with the following in the body of the email: ########################################## ## downstairs cool setpoint: ${sys.node.14 85 E5 1.CLISPC} downstairs current temp: ${sys.node.14 85 E5 1.ST} downstairs bath light state: ${sys.node.1A 5F 79 1.ST} ${sys.date} ${sys.time12} ## ########################################## 14 85 E5 is a 2491T thermostat adapter v.93. 1A 5F 79 is 2476D switchlinc dimmer. I do get an email, but it looks like this: ########################################## ## downstairs cool setpoint: node[14 85 E5 1] downstairs current temp: node[14 85 E5 1] downstairs bath light state: Off 2012/08/20 2:33:00 PM ## ########################################## I'm not sure what's up with all those "?" before reporting "Off", but the light did substitute a value, I guess. How can I get the actual values for the thermostat reported in the email? I didn't find a similar sample program in searches so I'm not sure if my syntax is valid, but the bath light at least sent something back. Steve
