  1. The fix for this was to write a simple program for the Main-A button If Control 'Fam_Room_Kitchen / FRH_KP-A-Outlet' is switched On Then Set Scene 'Scenes-Fam-Kitchen / Family_Room_Lights' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') And a mirror for the off. Thanks for the input!
  2. Thanks LeeG, The KPL is (2486D) Keypadlinc Dimmer 8 Buttons v.41 It is pretty new. BTW, I have not updated the ISY to the latest version (next on the list). It has been running 3.2.6 jjwinston
  3. Thanks for all the input. First, I never gave a thought to the dimmer on the outlet since these outlets were designed to have lamps on them. I guess you would never want to have an iron lung atached to them even without a dimmer. I will label this outlet as "Dimmable" and I do plan to remove all my Insteon when I move. So here are the particulars of the scenes and programs. I did check the Local setting for the Main-A. It was at 100%. I set it to 99% just to confirm that it had a current setting, but this made no difference. This is the scene that runs the Family Room Lights Family_Room_Lights FRH_KP-A-Outlet (controller) Fam_Room_Lamplinc (responder) Sliding_Door_KP - G (controller) Here is the scene built to be run from the program for the KPL button zKitFamRoom_Night 1st_F_Hallway_Lights_Front (responder set to 35%) Ist_F_Hallway_Lights_Back (responder set to 35%) FRH_KP-A-Outlet (responder set to 35%) Fam_Room_Lamplinc (responder set to 35%) Hallway_Kitchen_Overheads (responder set to 0%) Kitchen_Sink_Light (responder set to 0%) Sliding_Door_KP - A (responder set to 0%) Sliding_Door_Kitchen_Overhead (responder set to 0%) Here is the program that runs the Night scene If Control 'Fam_Room_Kitchen / FRH_KP-A-Outlet / FRH_KP-H' is switched On Then Set Scene 'Scenes_for_Kitch_Programs / zKitFamRoom_Night' On Wait 2 seconds Set Scene 'Scenes_for_Kitch_Programs / Scenes_for_S_D_KPL_LEDS / H_S_Door_KPL' On Set Scene 'Scenes for Foyer_Light_Progra / Foyer_KPL_LED_C' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Thanks! jjwinston
  4. Hello Everyone, I have a KPL8 where the main contols a wall plug with a lamp attached. I have also linked this to a Lamplinc that controls another room light. This is called the "Family Room" scene. On the H button of the KPL8 I run a program - called "Night" that sets several items including a scene that sets a reduced level on the Main and on the Lamplinc. The curious part is this. If I run the "Night" program On and then Off, the next time I run the "Family Room" scene - from the main button - the lamplinc goes to 100% but the wallplug - controlled directly by the main - only goes to the reduced setting. Also curious, this does not happen if I run this series of events from the ISY99i or if I run them from another KPL8 that has the same controls - but the main in this case does not control the wallplug. I hope this is clear. I will gladly answer any questions that might make it clearer. The KPL8's were purchased at the same time (apx November - December 2012) so they should be pretty current. Thanks!
  5. I was going to contact Kichler after the holidays. The Utilitech Xenon lights from Lowes look pretty nice also. oronomus - are you running these on an Inteon dimmer? Thanks!
  6. Hi, My house came with some under-counter flourescent fixtures that are wired to wall switches. I would like to replace these with a dimmable product. I have seen a Kichler fixture online that is an LED product and that says it is dimmable. Has anyone had any experience with these or with any dimmable under counter fixtures (looks like everything new is going to be an LED item). Thanks! Jeff Winston
  7. Hello, The Main button on my new KPL8 controls a wall outlet - the original load - and I also added via a scene - a 2457D2 to control another lamp in the room. Then I added a program to my H button that dims these same lamps to 35% and some other fixtures in the house. The program turns on a scene to accomplish this. The problem is that after using the H button, my Main button will only turn on the wall outlet (the actual load) to 35%. The "scened" Lamplinc turns on to 100%. Also I can double-push the main button and get the main to 100%. After it gets to 100% that way the main button will now function properly. I'm confused. Any input appreciated. Thanks! jjwinston
  8. Well, I have learned many software programs in my line of work and I realize that newbies can create problems that will puzzle trainers. All of these problems were created by the condition that I had somehow slipped into the My Programs folder. The "From..To" restraint from the yardlights program was now an IF condition of the folder - thus completely screwing up the scheduling of other programs. Thanks for all the help. I guess this will be one more thing for a newbie to check!
  9. Firmware and UI are 3.2.6 Actually, before I made the screen shots I restored the two SwitchLincs - this is the first time they have had a scheduled run time - that column was always blank. Perhaps the restore has done the trick? I guess the proof of the pudding will be if it runs the "off" program in the morning. Here is the screen shot of the scene. Thanks again for the input.
  10. Hello, Here is the summary, program and scene that I am using in the stair_lights program. As you can see, it is very striped down.
  11. Thanks Lee. Why would a program not be triggered if I am using "sunset" as the Run If? I am not by my ISY right now or I would copy out the program, but believe me it is the simpliest thing. Basically - If Sunset - Then set Switchlinc to On - Else Nothing. These are older Switchlincs (more than a year) and a brand new ISY99i.
  12. Hi, Just continuing to try and wrap my head around the programming. I have written some very simple programs that check tima and turn on or off my stair lights and my yard lights. The yard light program is working fine but the stair light program is not working. Looking in the program summary, the stair light program is "false" and has never run while the yard light program is "true" and runs at the scheduled time. I am sure I am missing some very basic lesson here. I appreciate the responses. Thanks!
  13. Absolutely the problem is the old KPL. I did make a new scene for the RemoteLinc to use and it works fine. Of course it can not control any of the buttons on the KPL6 (interestingly, when I add one of the buttons to this scene with the RemoteLinc as the controller and the button as the responder, the button level options do not even appear for the RemoreLinc to control). So, until I can upgrade this KPL6, I will have to live with the situation. Thanks for the input. Knowing something is working correctly, even if it is not what you want, is one of the biggest problems in being a newbie.
  14. Thanks for the replies. ISY reports my Remotelinc as (2440) Remotelinc v.00 ISY reports the Keypadlinc as (2486D) Keypadlinc Dimmer 6 buttons v.36 ISY firmware is 3.2.6 The Remotelinc works fine with the scenes I have made for a couple of the buttons (for other devices). I did not make a new scene just for the Remotelinc to operate with the Keypadlinc which I will probably try. I did try to generate a program and that does not seem to work at all. Here is the latest that I wrote: If Control '13.EA.20.4' is switched On Then Set Scene 'Library - Setting C' On Else No Actions The ISY sees the status change coming from the Remotelinc.
  15. Hi Everyone, Just got my isy99i and I am loving it. However, I came across an odd situation. I have a 6 KPL and I have built scenes for each of the four buttons that contol the load and two other devices in a room. Only one of the buttons should be on at a time so I built these scenes so that the kpl buttons not active have an on level of 0. I got the kpl working perfectly. Then I added my Remotelinc as another controller in the scene. It does turn on the correct keypad, but all the four keypads are lit. For some reason it seems that the other keypads in the scene do not act as responders to the Remotelinc as they do for the keypads. This is a more than a year old KPL and Remotelinc. I am not using the "button grouping" since the software appears to warn against using this feature. Thanks for any suggestions.
