The old X-10 band power meter works for insteon, the frequencies on the powerline are close enough, they just don't make them anymore. When I first put in my insteon I did some testing to see where it was best to plug in a few things using it. My micro-wave is a sucker, but blew the 10amp filterlinc that was on it, have to replace the fuse someday for it, but it's one of those axial ones you pretty much have or order online or ebay. Be nice if they spent another $0.40 at Smartlinc and put fuse clips in! Just this last week I installed an inline fuse from Leviton and then two plug in X-10 XPPF filters on my shops flouerescent lights so that I could reliably control them from the house or mobi-linc. Also seemed to help with my in floor heat that runs off an Appliance Linc. Don't want that running for 3 days because some signals don't make it!
