  1. All I need at this point is basic motion detection so I can control lights and send notifications. Based on what I have read it sounds like I should be able to link my 2844-222 to ISY with 4.6.2. I have a R3.1 3017 version of the sensor. I have tried both start linking and New Insteon Device. The start linking writes to the various devices but no new device shows up. The new device where I enter the address, fails with unable to determine the engine with Auto Discover. There is no 2844-222 device in the drop down, but there is a 2842-222. How are people getting the isy to link with the 2844-222?
  2. Mobilinc just announced their portal supports Echo, I have no details and do not know how it compares with ISY portal support of Echo.
  3. I purchased the ISY portal so I could use my new Echo and my Mobilinc portal quit working. Surely I do not have to choose between the two... Jay
  4. Michael, I understand the Connected Home is delayed due to the changes in certification. Last I remember, the Skills interface was delayed due to a defect in Echo software. Is that still the status for Skills? Will you publish Skills without Connected Home if it is done earlier? Is there a beta program to try out the current Skills in development? Sorry for all the questions... Jay
  5. I understand official support for Amazon Echo is in the works. Is this the place to request a status update?
  6. Thank you! I now see that you use: Insteon set "scene name" on (or off)
  7. I am attempting to have the light in a keypad reflect the status of my garage door. From what I have read in the forum, this has to be done with a scene, so I have created "Kitchen Keypad A" scene with the keypad A as the only responder. So, I have two scenes at this time: Auto DR and Kitchen Keypad A. I have an if statement that does a status check of the garage sensor. Now I am attempting to do the Then action and selected "Adjust scene" as the action The problem is that the "in scene" drop down is not working and will not show either scene. I did restore the PLM because I found someone with a similar problem that it solved, but that did not resolve mine... I also update to 4.2.10. Any suggestions would be appreciated, this seem so simple Jay
  8. How are you determining if someone is away or home? I would like to take action like opening my garage door, etc. when I arrive and I would also like to send notifications if I am away and something is sensed. I have tried geofencing on my iphone, and it is not anywhere near consistent. I have been miles away when it changed... It may have something to do with the phone sleeping. I was wondering if the ISY can somehow determine that my phone is connected to my wifi, that may also help (an OR condition but again phones can be sleeping). I guess I could set a variable with my phone or with a keypad button on the way out, but that requires more manual intervention and I would prefer something that does not require my action... So, was wondering what others have done in this area...
  9. Has anyone attempted to control or get status from this IP RemoteLock by LockState? http://www.remotelock.com/ I contacted them about an REST or other API to communicate with the server and they messed up and said they had an API and they would send my request to development. When I never heard from development, I followed up and they said they do not send that information to individuals. So, they have an interface and wondered if Universal Devices or anyone here has the API or worked to interface with the lock. Jay
  10. "You need to write a few lines of code in the cai to get it to set the variables on ISY but it is pretty simple stuff. is there a topic that covers this? This seems like a great way to get temp + digital inputs... How does an outside piece of hardware set a ISY variable?
  11. I am confused about the references that the EZIO2x4 requires a PLM. I currently have my isy and a PLM controlling Insteon and X10 devices. However, it looks like the EZIO may require its own PLM? I am hoping that set up is only required for some special setup and I hope (lots of hoping going on) that I can use the PLM I am using with my ISY for a while to do that setup? The best news would be for the ISY to recognize the EZIO and be able to read the inputs and control the outputs with it's existing PLM... Any clarification would help about PLMs and EZIO! Thanks! Jay
