  1. I ended up setting up a guest network with internet being the only shared resource and the offline issues continue. I'm going to replace them with Ecobee and put them on ebay.
  2. I’ve had the issue from day 1 with my first Gen 3. I think I’ve had it a couple of years. I continued purchasing the other units because I was sure I would get past the issue. Seems like a dad idea now? I’ll try and work on it this weekend and will post something after that.
  3. Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will first try setting up my older Linksys and just adding the thermostats to that network. If the issue goes away, I will 1 by 1 add back each of my other wifi devices and see if the issue follows one of those devices. If the thermostats have issues all by themselves on the Linksys network, then I will try killing breakers. I'll report back once I have more info.
  4. I've spent easily 15+ hours with Nest support trying to resolve connectivity issues and their senior support techs are stumped. The only thing really unusual about my house is my Insteon system, so I'm starting to wonder if the devices might be interfering with the thermostats connectivity. Here's the background info: I have 2 Gen 3's and a E Nest therm in my house for a total of 3 thermostats. All 3 Nest thermostats randomly show offline in the Nest app. Sometimes, when all 3 are offline, the "home" in the nest app shows offline. If I walk over to one of the thermostats, the motion sensor on the therm wakes them up and they usually/eventually will show back up in the Nest app. It seems like the thermostats go to sleep and go offline, when I wake them up manually, they eventually/usually show back up online. Nest wifi and thermostat support has had me try everything they can think of. I even replaced my Linksys Velop 3 node mesh router system with a google Nest wifi with 3 access points and the issues continue. We all agree that the thermostats seem to be functioning correctly, they just don't wake up on my network and that creates a connectivity issue. I've got lots of tech in my house and everything has worked fine on my old Linksys setup and the new google Nest wifi network. I'm running all sorts of tech, August smart locks, Ring door bells, sonos, Arlo cams, printers, computers, phones and everything but the thermostats work fine on the old and the new network. So I'm wondering, could it be my Insteon system? Could it be the Insteon devices? Could it be the RF signals from Insteon devices? I have an ISY994i Pro with many wall switches, signal boosters/bridges, irrigation, and gate relay's. I'm posting on this forum as a last effort to see if anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this. If I can't get past it, then I probably need to ebay the thermostats and switch to ecobee or other. Thanks.
  5. I'm using the Insteon garage door controller to control my gate. I currently have to ask google to "turn on the gate" to get it to open. Is there a way add something or change that so i can ask google to "open the gate"? Thanks.
  6. What does it mean when an icon is green vs white?
  7. I've got 2 normal wall switches currently installed, one for the ceiling fan light and the other for the ceiling fan. They are wired together(in series or daisy chained?), and then there is an additional wire that I'm guessing goes to the fan. I thought I could just use a Switchlinc switch for the light and another Switchlinc Dimmer for the fan. I would be fine with using 2 Switchlincs, I don't need to use the dimmer(don't need fan speed control). I just want to turn the lights and the fan on using 2 different switches. Can I use what I have or do I need a special switch? Do I have to use a Fanlinc or something similar if I don't need speed control? If I can use 2 Switchlincs, does anyone have wiring instructions?
  8. If you have a 3 way switch scene for lights, is there anyway to control that light using google home?
  9. Decided to start fresh today and everything looks good. When I first added the lock, only 1 node showed up, after the status changed on the lock, the other node appeared in the admin application. Based on the other forum thread above, it looks like that extra node is not really necessary but I labeled "sensor" anyway. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Here's a screenshot of all devices added:
  10. yes, to all of the above questions
  11. Ok, updated firmware to 5.0.16C. Removed all Zwave devices and reset the zwave dongle on the ISY. Added back the repeaters and the locks. Locks only have 1 node(basically same as before firmware update) and now I have a repeater that thinks he is a lock (see screenshot). I've tried removing everything and resetting the dongle multiple times. I think I'm done for the night.
  12. So now I have a dumb firmware upgrade question and didn't wan't to start another thread. When I download and unzip the firmware, what do I select? During the manual firmware upgrade process, I tried selecting the zip, then I tried selecting the root folder, then I tried a few of the internal folders. Sorry for the stupid question, but how do I update the firmware? I read through the firmware instructions, they don't mention the zip or what folder or file to select. I've upgraded firmware before and don't remember having any trouble.
  13. @tmorse305 Yes, I installed the magnet and went through the calibration process in the August App. I assumed that the "Locked" status shown in my screenshot was coming from that info. When I manually turn the lock, the status in the Admin panel updates immediately. Am I missing a node or is everything now combined? My ISY firmware is v4.7.5. Do you see the "Locked" status in your lock node and have another node that also shows locked?
  14. When I added it, only one device/node showed up with battery and lock status displayed on the main screen, see attached screenshot. @dxdc, sorry, I don't know how to reference your topic, but feel free to do it now.
