Had a new problem that gave same result as an old problem with the floating inputs of the EZIO8SA. the old problem was the two analog inputs of the EZIO8SA not being grounded that created constant polling by the ISY and at some point locking it up and not working. The new problem started with the emails showing no change in temp.and several days later the ISY quit working. I found the battery on the thermostat had gone dead and after replacing them, the ISY was still dead. Once doing a manual reset on the ISY, everthing was back working. When there is a repeating error such as the communication loss from the ISY to the EZIO8SA or in this case of communication loss to the thermostat, The ISY controller locks up. Is there any programming that will help this problem. By the way the remote thermostat's internal temp sensor is switched from the internal one to either an outside or underhouse sensor. Works great by switching a couple of outputs in the EZIO8SA with Mobillink and the one thermostat can see 4 different sensors with two outputs. Only down side is about a 1 minute delay for the updated temperature. Has there been any changes to allow variables to be used to turn logic on or off and not just sent as messages in email? I now realize that D and E are analog input 5 & 6. Could those not being grounded cause this? Thanks for your help tried the thermostat address only 20.4B.E9 and did not work without the 1 after the address What is the 1 mean? a little problem linking to the ISY but got it going not using auto link but selecting Insteon thermostat in custom email: Current Outside Temp = ${sys.node.20 4B E9 1.ST} Will be waiting for the ability to use this value in variables. in Notifications the categories listed are Alert System Variables Open ADR I have inserted System info (date & time) to emails Variable values to show on off conditions don't know what Alert and OpenADR are for I do not see any data value fields Maybe after the thermostat is linked other options appear. Thanks, will try things this weekend, The forum is handy to get a hint what I may run into versus what I expect to work.

I purchased the Insteon 2441ZTH and have not used it yet. There is also a connection to run a remote waterproof corded sensor. The question I have is without a PC or other modules, can the ISY communicate to the Thermostat and receive data or copy to a variable so the information can be sent out via email?

I am not at property where the ISY is located. Can mobilinc to it though I have two problems. 1) Motion sensor (Insteon) start linking didn't work had to link motion sensor with address set jumper 4 to on-off mode ISY did properly show on-off condition of the motion sensor. (with delays) When I left I unpluged the battery on the motion sensor and the ISY still shows it ON (the last state was ON) 2) I am connected to a EZI0-8 Inputs and outputs work correctly and show on the ISY and mobilinc remote Input 1 is on, I have it switched on for program check purposes. the Input1_State program is simple If input1 is on Then input1_var=1 Else input1_var=0 A similar program changes Motion1_Var when the motion sensor is triggered Even with input 1 ON the input1_var stays at zero Motion1 sensor is on and motion1_var stays at zero My question is does the ISY trigger only when it sees the transition from off to on and writing a program and saving with the conditions or inputs on not let the program work? the next program sends and email containing in the text variable values this works showing variables I used to trigger emails for every other day at 4:00pm So I do know that variables do change and report in the email I wonder if the ISY was restarted would those programs change input1_var and motion1_var? If so how do I reset the ISY remotely? Thanks for you help
