  1. Thanks MWareman. I'm using IOS and am aware of the features loss moving to the ISY Portal. I used to use notifications when I had wireless IP cameras to alert me to motion when I was away, but now have a wired surveillance system with DVR (not associated with the ISY) and get notifications through that. I also stopped using notifications for when events (i.e., lights on/off, etc) because I have so many it was really distracting and I could simply check the app if I wanted to make sure a program was executed. If in the future after switching to ISY Portal I decide I need push notifications, geofencing, etc, I will check out the other options such as the Locative you mentioned. Thanks again.
  2. I've been using MobiLinc Connect for the past several years, but now want to switch to the ISY Portal for it's integration with Amazon Echo. I understand that I can still use the MobiLine HD app, but CANNOT use both MobiLinc Connect and ISY Portal and must deactivate MobiLinc Connect in order to use ISY Portal. My question concerns the timing of those actions. Do I need to deactivate MobiLinc Connect before I purchase the ISY Portal and try to set it up? Is there a step-by-step procedure that must be followed when changing from MobiLinc Connect to ISY Portal? Thanks.
  3. Thanks everyone.
  4. Disregard my last question. I figured it out. After typing 192.168.1.155 and clicking on the "settings" tab I saw an option for "Install Admin Console (Internet)". I wasn't sure what that meant, but I clicked on it and it downloaded the admin.jnlp file. Using that file to access the admin panel DOES give me access to all the features I couldn't access the other way. Again, thanks for all the help. I can now purchase the portal module, backup my ISD and everything else.
  5. Bumbershoot, thanks again. Interesting that you have the same issues using Safari. So, maybe it's not my system problem. I don't understand what you mean by "using the admin.jnlp file". Can you please explain? I know the IP address to access the admin panel on my system is 192.168.1.155 and if I access it using that, I still have the same issue,
  6. Bumbershoot, thanks for the reply and link. However, it didn't help solve my problem. As I mentioned I've been running this on my Retina iMac for a couple of years without any problems until now. I haven't made any system changes or other significant changes lately so I don't know why this is happening. Actually, I'm not sure when this issue started since all my devices, programs, etc still work. I only noticed this today when I wanted to purchase the portal module. When that didn't work, then I tried other things such as upgrading to the latest version, backup, etc and they didn't work either. I even temporarily disabled my firewall to see if it was causing the problem but that didn't help either. To to test other functions, even though I don't have a new device to add, I tried the add device function and it opened up so apparently that function still works.
  7. I've been using the ISY994i for a few years without any issues, but for some reason I am now having issues doing most tasks with the Administrative Console. First, let me say I'm using MAC OS Sierra and the Safari browser. When I start the Administrative Console all my devices, programs, scenes, etc show up and I can still turn devices, scenes, etc on and off from the console. However, none of the other functions of the console seem to work (I assume adding a new device still works, but I don't have any to add). For example, the console tells me that a new Version (4.5.4) is available. When I try to install the update automatically, I get an error message that says "Upgrade Failed :java.lang.Exception:" If I click on OK, then another box pops up that says "Failed Retrieving the Update Image." I also cannot do such things as Backup ISY. When I select Backup ISY from the menu, I just get the spinning wheel and everything else freezes. I thought maybe this just took a while, but I let it run for an hour and ended up having to force quit the program. I started all this because I'm interested in purchasing the portal module so that I can use it with Echo, but I cannot even "Purchase Modules" in the admin console. I can click on "Purchase Modules" in the menu, but nothing happens. I've tried this on both my Retina iMac and my MacBook Pro and the same things happen. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I have installed a 6-button KeypadLinc (in conjunction with a FanLinc) and for some reason the ISY identifies it as an 8-button KeypadLinc (KPL). The KPL is a 2486D and was originally an 8-button which I converted to a 6-button. When setting it up as a "New Insteon Device" in the Administrative Console, I did NOT use Auto Discover, but selected the device type from the dropdown list. The list included both a 6-button and 8-button option for the 2486D and I selected the 6-button option. It installed fine and in the list of devices showed the appropriate buttons and programs just fine. However, when selecting the device in the Administrative Console, at the top of the screen directly under the name I gave the device it says "(2486D) KeypadLinc Dimmer 8 Buttons v.40". The fact that it says 8-button instead of 6-button wouldn't bother me too much except when I sync the ISY with my MobiLinc HD, MobiLinc HD identifies it as an 8-button KPL and shows all 8 buttons. I even deleted all the scenes connected to this KPL and the KPL itself and went through the process a 2nd time to make sure I selected the 6-button on setup, but I ended up with the same issue. I am open to any suggestions on how to solve this problem so that I can control it properly through the MobiLinc HD software. I don't think it's a problem with MobiLinc since that is only reporting the device type that the ISY Administrative Console is showing. BTW, I have other KPL/FanLinc combos in my house that use the 2487S Dual Band KeypadLinc Relay that came as 6-button KPLs and they identify correctly in the Administrative Console and show up properly in MobiLinc HD. I'd appreciate any assistance to get this corrected. Thanks.
  9. On the module purchase problem, I get the same thing when using IE. If I switch to Firefox, I am able to purchase the modules.
  10. I've been using Insteon devices for several years using a SmartLinc which recently died so I decided to upgrade to the isy944i. I received my isy944i a couple of days ago and got it set up and semi-working with some issues (probably caused by my old setup). I filled out a support form online and received a response within an hour with some suggestions. After a couple more emails back and forth (again, quick responses from Universal Devices Support) I still couldn't get the last couple of issues solved. I was surprised when, about 15 minutes after my last response to the support folks, I received a phone call from a very helpful gentleman in support who was able to diagnose my problem online and get everything working perfectly. My normal experience with dealing with support people is I call, leave a message and wait days for a response. Instead, Universal Devices Support called me on their own when they noticed I was having problems getting the issue resolved via email. Great job!
