I have an ISY 99 and lots of insteon switches. Everything has worked great for years. I have started playing with Home Assistant (HA) on a Raspberry pi with the Nortek dual Zwave and Zigbee stick. I have a few new Zwave switches and zigbee devices; all of it is working fine. Here is my problem/question: I am unable to figure out how to trigger an automation in HA via physically pressing an Insteon switch (2477D or 2477S). I am able to get insteon switches to turn on/off via Lovelace card/automations, and HA can see the change in 'state' of the switch. However, when I physically press the Insteon switch on/off, HA does not register the change in state...I think if I can solve this then I can generate automations off of the "change in state" trigger in HA. Does anyone have any insight on this issue?

You can control lights and home AV eqpt without needing an IRLinc. I gave up on iTunes..I honestly tried to make it work. I have 110 gigs of iTunes library and was paying the $15/month family plan. I switched to Spotify because of "Spotify Connect" functionality with Echo and Chromecast. I have Echos in all of the major rooms and I or the family members can connect to individual Echos via the Spotify app or can ask Alexa to play anything on Spotify through verbal commands.. I also have 3 Chromecast Audios deployed around the house for "whole house" audio. Either playback method (individual room or whole house) is handled through Spotify If you are looking for an alternative to iTunes, a $35 Chromecast audio plugged into your input jack on your multi-room audio system would work.

I will be happy when ISY supports Siren. Just tried to add it and found this thread. Should have come here first!

larryllix, is there a link to the new way to program garage doors? Mine were programmed the old way and they operate fine with the KPL switches, but the MobiLinc app is kinda wonky when it comes to opening the garage doors.

OK, I posted earlier about these commands not working: "Alexa, turn home on" (and off) "Alexa, turn party on" (and off) "Alexa, turn ambient on" (and off) I added the word "light" to the end of each command (as in, "Alexa, turn on ambient light" and now they are all working again...weird...

Hey all, I have an ISY with 55 devices, 36 scenes, 10 or so programs, and Mobilinc. Things have been running great for a year. I have two Insteon 2450s running two garage door openers. Recently, the left 2450 is unreadable in the ISY console and neither the KPL nor the Mobilinc app will open the L garage door. I tried a factory reset on the 2450 but it doesn't work. I have a fast blink on the status LED that won't go away. I think I need a new 2450. Assuming I get one, how do I R&R and "Restore Device" without having to manual reprogram the new 2450? Is this possible if I give the new one the same name or will the new address on the new 2450 mess things up?

Hey everybody. I am new to Insteon but have begun to outfit our new home with all kinds of stuff, including an ISY, hoards of dimmer switches, and two garage door kits. Here is my only issue so far. I have two garage doors with an Insteon garage door kit installed on each and each garage door is linked to a separate button on my 8-button KPL (buttons C&D). The KPL C&D buttons will open and close the doors, and each KPL button LED will glow when its respective door is in the open position and each KPL button LED will turn off when its garage door is in the closed position. However, the LED C button on the KPL, which controls the left garage door, is acting strangely. Sometimes the LED will come on to 100% when there is no garage door activity (ie the door is still down). Other times the LED will come on in a dimmed state, then slowly increase in brightness, again, the garage door being down the whole time. I can "reset" the status LED by pressing the KPL and "cycling" the garage door open/closed. The KPL LED will be OK for a few hours then lgith up again. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on or how I could debug this? Thanks, Tom
