  1. Thanks Lee. Battery is new and I have been waiting 5-10 min between each try after resetting the MS. AP (2443) is now less than 10ft away although it is an older (rev 1.0) AP. I ordered a pair of new dual-band Access Points that should arrive tomorrow. I'll try them and report back. Not sure what to do if that doesn't work. Thanks again for the suggestions. Tom
  2. Thought this latest event viewer info may be helpful. Tom (alt+p) [/img]
  3. Hi Rand, From my original post: Model: 2420M Rev 1.0 Address: 0A.42.EE Jumpers all set to 0 ISY FW: 2.7.15 Success on the Remote Linc. Putting it into linking mode caused the 1011 flags to disappear and now the RL icons look like the other devices in my network. Thanks! As for the MS, I did do a factory reset. Now that the RL error is cleared, I get the following: (alt+p) [/img]
  4. Here is a screen shot of the event viewer when I try to force a Write Updates to Device:
  5. Hi Michael, Thanks for the reply. Now that you mention it there is a little flag looking icon next to my RL keys that read 1011. I only have 4 of the RL buttons defined so far but the ones I have defined work fine. AP and MS are about 10 ft apart and the MS has a fresh battery. Tom
  6. I've had a 2420M sitting on the shelf for a long time and now that I have my ISY/Insteon integration working flawlessly, I thought I'd give the motion sensor a try. I've read many threads and still have no luck linking this thing. Details below: Model: 2420M Rev 1.0 Address: 0A.42.EE Jumpers all set to 0 ISY FW: 2.7.15 I right click My Lighting and choose New Insteon Device Name: Motion Sensor Address: 0A.42.EE Dev Type: [10.01] (2420M) INSTEON Motion Sensor Checked: Remove existing links (also tried the other two choices) I put the 2420 into linking mode then click OK in ISY. After a while I get the error messages: [-200000] Failed Writing Device Link [RemoteLinc - Office Lts] and [-200000] Node not added, failed removing links [A 42 EE 1] Not sure why the Remote link message happens, in fact, ISY console shows Writing to all my Remote Linc buttons. I even put my RL inside my grounded alarm panel on the other side of the house and ISY still shows Writing. I even tried a second tap on the set button on the 2420 (suggested in a post) and still nothing. From the posts, it sounds like people have successfully linked v1.0 sensors. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Tom
  7. First of all I want to thank all of your for your responses. I tried adding a scene and that solved the problem but... Being the curious type, I went back to the original configuration and looked at the event viewer. I saw the command being received but ISY ignored it. Looking into my program structure I have a program called Normal for day-to-day operations of lights. This time of year I also have a program called Christmas that incorporates my xmas lighting. The program says between Nov 30 and Jan 1 run programs in this folder. Apparently now only the Christmas folder is running. Program summary shows Christmas=True and Normal=False. Both used to be true before I deleted all my devices the other day. Not sure what changed as I didn't delete any of the programming just the devices. I did have to fix the programming after rediscovering devices by adding the device names back in. I'll have to take another look at how the programs are called or figure out a way to rewrite this mess so I don't have to have duplicate entered in both Normal and Christmas folders. Now on to trying to get my Elk M1G talking to my Insteon devices. Thanks again for the suggestions. They helped a lot. Cheers! Tom
  8. I really hate asking for help but I've been searching for an answer for over three hours. Due to strange switch problems and cross linking issues, I decided to factory reset all my Insteon switches and delete my ISY defined devices and start from scratch. The good news is I cleaned up all my linking and ramp rate issues using ISY and not the SmartHome method. The bad news is I broke my "all off" Keypad link function and can't for the life of me figure out how to fix it. I took screen shots of the program tab and of the scenes/devices on the main tab before I started. I have a tabletop KPL on the nightstand. When button D is pushed, it used to flash on, all controlled lights would dim off, then the KPL D button would turn off. Now nothing happens at all other then the KPD D LED flashing on/off. ISY version is 2.7.15. My program looks like: If Control 'Headboard KPD_D_ALL OFF' is switched On (set to non-toggle off) Or Control 'Headboard KPD_D_ALL OFF' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'My Lighting' Fade Down Wait 3 seconds Set Scene 'Keypad Secondary Buttons ALL' Off Wait 30 seconds Set Scent 'My Lighting' Query Else - No Actions Any ideas? Thanks. Tom
  9. Thanks Darrell. It worked. I guess I don't understand the reletionship between controllers and responders and how that relates to ISY and programming. I appreciate your help.
  10. I have a tabletop KPL 6 on a nightstand in the Master BR configured as follows: Main - headboard reading lamp A - Master Bath lights B - Master BR main can lights C - Kitchen lights D - All off (set to non-toggle, LED normally off) I finally figured out a program that seems to shut everything off: If Control 'Tabletop KPL - D Goodnite All' is switched On Or Control 'Tabletop KPL - D Goodnite All' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'My Lighting' Fade Down (hopefully this completely turns off the lights) When I press the KPL-D key, it flashes twice and everything turns off as expected except the secondary LED's on all my KPL's around the house (assuming the light was on at the time of the all off command). Pressing the secondary buttons turns off the LED's but I want them to turn off when their load turns off. When I use the load's SWL or another KPL secondary button, all the other KPL LEDs track properly. Only when Isy99 issues a command from a program do the LEDs get out of sync. I created a scene for each load and included all the controlling KPL buttons and appropriate SWL's into the scene. Per ISY support all switches are set to controller so the LED's track. I've read that the KPL secondary buttons need to be responders but would that not allow them to be linked to the remote loads anymore? Is there a way to easily change from controller to responder? So far the only way I've been able to do that is to delete and recreate the scene. Scene edit capability would be useful...or have I just missed it? Isy Version is 2.6.5. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Tom
