I thought I was not allowed to plug in the PLM into a extension cord. I don't have a UPS but have a power conditioner for my equipment, don't know if that is the culprit. I read on a post on this forum to use the two accesspoints and plug in near the junction panel, do you think that would work? Paulbates: The garage door doesn't move at all now, it initially moved to close the garage door but then kept getting that error. Oh, forgot to mention that I get an error saying no internet access???

Hi everyone, I am a newbie at all this automation stuff. I am having difficulty using the garage door kit (insteon). Every time I send a signal from the ISY-994i, I get a message saying communication problem for the sensor. I have the PLM connected in the basement where I have a equipment rack (there is only 2 plugs by the breaker where the rack is). I also bought 2 Access points which I have placed 1 of them in the family room (about 20' from garage through a wall) and the other is on the 2nd floor bedroom. I don't know if they are actually doing anything (how can I configure them to make sure they are actually working?). The problem I am having is when I try to close my garage with the ISY-994i console, it keeps giving me a communication sensor error like the one below. It has worked one time and then I kept getting the message. I have actually had to find a workaround that I found on youtube for my chamberlain garage door. Any help would be great, Thanks

So I managed to get it working by soldering two wires on a spare liftmaster 883lm remote. It works a couple of times and then stopped working displaying this. How can I fix this error? Thanks

Is the Green LED On when the door is closed and the Green LED Off when the door is open? Yes Green LEd ON when door is closed and OFF when Open. I tested it out in ISY, to press on for the relay but didn't move?? Thanks

I have correctly made sure the wires are connected in their proper place. How can I try using the ISY setup app to do a test to see if it will open/close garage door. Can you provide step to setup scenes, etc..? Thanks

Hi Brian, I verified that when I move the magnet from the sensor the light on the IO/Linc flashes. When I open the door manually, the light on the IO/Linc blinks and turns off; this doesn't happen when I close the door. I checked the sensor input, they are connected to where the keypad is connected to on the opener motor.

Yea the magnetic part of the kit is mounted to the garage door while the other sensor is put into the wall (just like how the guide says to do it). What do you mean incorrect one? All I have attached to the motor is garage door senors and the keypad. Does it matter which part of the relay NO and Common goes into the red and white? When I open the garage door manually, I see a white light blink on the insteon unit but when I close it, I don't see such a light. What part would I need to adjust? Thanks, hope I can figure this out.

oberkc...when I manually open the garage the lite on the IO/Linc blinks but I cannot control it from the ISY. I did check the manual and it seems I put the wires right.

So I have verified that the garage sensor is connected to the ground and S. I also have ran 2 wires from the N/O and Comm to the garage opener unit. I did try to touch the wires together but nothing happened? Is there something I did wrong? Did I put in the correct positions (other other 2 wires) on the garage opener motor? Thanks

I have installed 2 access points...and also the garage door kit. I wanted to just test it out with my computer first and then was going to buy iRule and use that app to control it. I wanted to control door with iRule app How is the IOLinc set up? Is it in momentary mode? Does it respond to OFF commands? ON commands? Either? Regarding above question, I don't know which momentary mode to use (currently the relay and sensor is set to momentary A with LED on TX with 4.0 ms hold time) Do you have a sensor installed with the IOLinc? Is it working? Does the ISY see the state of the sensor? Is it ON when the door is opened or when closed? Regarding above question..I do have the sensor installed to the IO Linc. The ISY does see the current state of the sensor but doesn't change when garage door is open/close manually. Have you tried closing the door simply by quickly shorting the to wires connecting it to the IOLinc, just to test if it works. How do I go about doing this to test it? Are you talking about the two wires that are screwed into the IOLinc? Like the picture below.
